This is a great reference text for those wanting to learn more about crystals. I loved that there was scientific facts at the beginning, explaining how crystals are formed. I have always been the type of person that wanted to understand every aspect of a subject if I could, so this fulfilled that need of mine. The rest of the information is laid out with imagery and broken up into organized chapters. When you get to the section about the crystals themselves, each entry has a picture as well as information about the crystal. At the back, there is an index listed by reason so that you can search for a crystal that will help.

I have become a Nicholas Pearson fan, and was delighted to see that he wrote another book on healing crystals. I really appreciate his scientific and metaphysical perspective on crystals because it’s rare to find a blended perspective like his in books these days. Kudos to Pearson for starting the book off with a chapter on how crystals work. Explaining their energy from a scientific and metaphysical perspective is absolutely necessary for those working with crystals. Most books on the subject exclude this kind of information so I was very happy to see it explained by the author in such a simple yet effective way. He even went on to explain specific attributes of crystals which are ways they interact with energy. Once again, I have not come across this type of information in other books, so it was incredibly enlightening. A discussion on the crystalline matrix of the human body was a lovely inclusion because humans and crystals have more in common than one would think.

My biggest takeaway was the chapter on the composition and structure of crystals and how this informs their healing properties. This is essential and missing from most crystal books. In order to understand why a particular crystal has certain properties, you have to understand its growing conditions, structure, hardness, composition, system, colour, etc. A section on the human energy field such as the chakras and subtle bodies was also included. A chapter on how to start a crystal collection was a nice addition because anyone who loves crystals knows it can be an intimidating process. Many different foundational practices were outlined in the book such as how to care for your crystals, cleansing, charging, meditations, crystal grids, elixirs, layouts, protection, and sacred spaces. A large directory of crystals listing their geological information was included along with their concise physical, psychological, and spiritual healing properties.

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who uses crystals or anyone who would love to learn more about them. For me, the standout was the geological information which helped to explain why crystals have the healing properties that they do. This is a book that I would definitely purchase.

This is an extensive book for learning about crystals and how to use them. he information on auras and healing is excellent. If you want to know how crystals work and some of the theory behind it all this book will give you a much greater understanding. This book has more depth and practicality than most other books on the market and you could feel the authors passion for the subject. I loved the 'crystal' clear pictures especially in the crystal reference section in the second half. This book is much more than 'basics' and is brilliant book for anyone wanting to use and get to know the benefits of using crystals.

I had some trouble getting this downloaded but was finally able to and I'm so glad I did! I thoroughly enjoyed going through this book to learn about different crystals.

I only just recently started using crystals so this couldn't have come at a better time.

Not only do you learn about different crystal types and their uses, but also TONS of other fun things like charging your crystals and making your own crystal grid. This is a book I'll be referring to a lot as I continue to grow my practice.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for my free review copy!
