This was a pretty spicy romance! Very intense. I like the religious theme though, and I got through it quickly.

2.5 Stars.

It sounded really good, and i was curious how this was going to play out. But the characters felt really bland.... boring.. I did not feel the passion and the chemistry. Trevor? he was just..there? Like.. meh. The only characters i liked was Cat & Ruth. Maggie Were mostly boring and whiny to me.

This one was a miss for me. I couldn’t get into the story, didn’t find it realistic enough, and kind of found the steamy scenes cringeworthy! I think I’ll be giving up on the romance genre for a while — it’s just not for me!

The characters in this story weren't extremely fleshed out and I felt like there could have been some build up there. The author clearly wanted this to be more than a "simple" erotica story, but I felt it was lacking in character depth. I wanted to know more about who they were - why were they there? Why did Maggie want to join the convent? Why was Trevor forced to go there or to jail? What was Cat there for and how did she manage everything she pulled off? Why was Eva so mean and fickle with her meanness, really? Why was Mother Superior and Henry so... icky and gross and authoritative? The writing overall was decent and I wouldn't shy away from reading more from her. I just see a lot of potential for growth and I hope to see it in future readings.

Arc review

It’s an story about young girls in a nunnery that are finding out that there is more in life than their holy god and the church.

Margaret finds herself stuck between her devotion and her feelings for the Gardner Trevor.
Her friend and fellow nun Catherine tries to help them out.

There is an very wicked head nun...

I liked the last bit of the book the most, the beginning was an bit hard to get threw and to connect, and I really hated the head nun.. yeah I have that sometimes with characters in an book.

But the second half of the book has more action and flows better in the storyline.

It was an okay read.

I CAN'T!

I requested this book back in September as an E-ARC from Netgalley more a joke than anything. I grew up Catholic for the first part of my adolescence and really I was hoping for a good laugh. Now the time to review it came and went and I was playing catch-up with a million and a half things.

I only got 12% in before I felt ready to chuck my Kindle across the room. The passages were choppy, there were too many characters and the girl hate between the various nuns just wasn't worth suffering through the rest of the story just for a laugh.

I'm moving on because my brain doesn't deserve the assault the rest of this book will probably contain and I'm taking the book as read because well, I'm an adult and can make that decision for myself. Thank you.

I received a free copy of Sweet Salvation in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I enjoyed this novel.

It was definitely a unique plot that fit the stereotypical Catholic nuns and Catholic girls story. I enjoyed Margaret and Trevor's story, but felt there should have been more replationship development and clandestine meetings, and less shenanigans from Margaret's friends. I was also disappointed with the ending. It didn't fit with the rest of the story.

Overall,I enjoyed this novel, and would recommend it to the right audience

I picked this one because of the cover, I haven't see anything like this and I was intrigued.I really struggled to get past this being a romance series set in a nunnery, that being said, I think I would have enjoyed it much more if it was differently set up!The beginning was a little slow, but once it picked up it was good. It's fast paced and easy to read.

I ended up DNFing this book, Sweet Salvation by Lily Miles. I was really interested in this book after reading what it was about. Whenever I would pick it up I didn't want to read it, there were times it was hard to pick it up and didn't want to pick it up. I had trouble getting into it.

Sister Margaret was born to be a nun. Her family had her to be part of the church. It's not that she isn't happy at the convent. (I wouldn't be. The mother superior is a horrible person.) Maggie takes her punishments without complaint. She is pious and only a little bored. Until she is forced to do a service project with the new gardener, Trevor. Trevor gets her all hot and bothered in ways that she never knew existed.

This book wasn't for me. I thought it would be a sort of forbidden fruit sort of deal and while Margaret couldn't be with Trevor because she is a nun, there were a few things that really bothered me about the book. The relationship (if we can even call it that) was forced and happened in such a short amount of time. They barely talked and don't know each other at all. Also, as the reader, I didn't get to know Margaret at all. No idea why she is truly at the convent or what she is going to do when she leaves. Trevor is serving a jail sentence and I am not sure if the book addressed it but shouldn't there be a warrant out for his arrest now that he left?

There was a lot of queerbaiting in the book especially with Margaret and Catherine. It was gross since neither girl is interested in each other (maybe they are who knows??). There was a lot of religious drama and while I knew that the book took place in a convent, I spent more time reading that Margaret was praying rather than the reading the romance I was promised.

Shout out to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in advance in exchange for an honest review.

Slow, but awesome romance read. I was taken aback a little bit when I saw it was gonna be all about nuns. But the story gave me an unexpected curveball and I loved every word of it. I will surely do re-reads.

This story was ok. I liked it overall but they're where quit a few things that worked out oddly to me. It's hard to explain but I just felt like the some scenes where oddly unbelievable. I would read the next book.

Lily Miles' Sweet Salvation is entertaining, but the 'instalove' between the protagonists is cloyingly soap-operatic. They are fairly well-drawn characters, yet I didn't feel particularly fond of either. I enjoyed the alternating chapters that explore the lives and backstories of the other nuns in the convent. (They will do doubt appear in future installments.) Kudos to Miles on writing a delightfully wicked Mother Superior. The Miss Hannigan-esque character possessed a warped humanity that serves as a perfect foil to the lovers.

This is wonderfully written, with a very captivating story line!!! I could not put the book down. Excellent read!

There were just some things about Sweet Salvation that I couldn't overlook.
Nevermind the fact that most of the secondary characters in this book were awful, terrible people and the complete antitheses to those you might actually find in a convent.
Nevermind the fact that by creating an environment so brutal the author erased any need for Margaret to actually have an in-depth or sincere internal conflict about devotion to her faith.
Nevermind the question of whether masturbation and copulation in a church is merely a naughty addition to enhance the taboo theme or a step too far in the direction of poor taste.
Nevermind all of that because the book easily earns its one-star rating for being the worst (or maybe it's the best) example of insta-love I have ever seen. Not only do these characters literally fall deeply in love at first sight, but prior to giving up her life's work, her long term plans, even her faith, Margaret learns nothing about Trevor including the fact that he was assigned work at the convent to avoid going to prison! Boy will that come as a shock when this virginal daughter of missionaries learns that little tidbit of information. More time should have been spent on the development of feelings between this couple and less on setting up future books by introducing and following the actions of characters not vital to this plot.
The book is written like a fairytale. Handsome Man sets eyes on poor little victim Girl and persuades her to ride off into the sunset with him before learning his last name.
This book sets the genre back about forty years.

The story of a new nun who has never had a boyfriend and a bad boy gardener.
The slow growth of the relationship and the nastiness of the Mother Superior made the story enjoyable and believable.
I enjoyed this read.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review.

This book was great at first, but it was moving too slow for me. I eventually got bored and nothing exciting or interesting was happening.

However, the beginning of the book was great! It was interesting how we got to see from both characters POV.

There was nothing to keep me hooked to the book. It’s a shame as well because the synopsis made it sound like a really good read.

I’ve read and liked romances with nuns before (Bettina Krahn, The Sound of Music) but this one felt extremely fetishizing and creepy. I made it only a few chapters before it overwhelmed me and I had to stop.
