SO SO SO CUTE! I am a huge fan of Katie O'Neill and knew that I had to have this sent to me as soon as possible. She never fails to thrill me with her amazingly cute illustrations and motivational themes.
This is the first book by Katie O'Neil I've read and it's so lovely!! The message of being positive and upbuilding to those around you is so simply and cleverly portrayed. This book will be good for kids or adults of any age - we all need reminders during life! The artwork is so beautifully drawn too.
This is such a lovely little book to read!
The images are nice, bright and clear which made them attractive to my daughter straight away. She is only young bust she is already growing in to a bookworm and has her favourites!
The story is easy to follow and I thought that the themes were excellent.
My daughter really enjoyed it when I read it to her, and I can see this one being a firm favourite!
It is 4 stars from me for this one, highly recommended!!
This was such an adorable read!
The illustration is so well done and really captivates you. The story was super cute and had an incredibly positive and encouraging message. It tackled something that although quite simple, still hits home and is relatable enough that even an adult can read.
Comparison is unfortunately something we can't help but do from a very young age, therefore this book's approach on it will certainly be very inspirational for children.
Thank you to Oni Press and Netgalley for approving my request of this ARC.
Loved this adorable picture book. It had a sweet message about supporting your friends and not comparing yourself to others. The art was bright and so cute but that's not unexpected from Katie O.Neill. Perfect for very small children.
Dewdrop is an axolotl who is here to help! He wants to help his friends do their very best at the sports fair and he is able to so well with his kindness and encouragement.
This is such a cute book, the illustrations are so pretty and bright and the overall concept and story are great as well. The author does a wonderful job pulling it all together to make a book that will be both fun and educational for young readers. In the story they will learn about helping, even when you are trying to prepare as well, about how to only try to go better than yourself - because that is always an improvement, and that you shouldn't get discouraged. It also notes that pausing can help you come to the thoughts you were looking for. All of these are great lessons for kid readers and some adults as well and I think that this book would be a great one for your collections.
So cute! I read this with the 3 year old I nanny and we both loved it. The message was wonderful. The art style, adorable. We've read the book three times this week. I'll definitely be picking up a copy when this is published. I adore this authors work!
This was so stinkin' cute I don't have words for it. O'Neill had me at "axolotl," obvs, but I am so glad I read this book. It's a sweet story about friendship and believing in yourself and I plan to get a hard copy and read it with my 3-year-old. The art is beyond adorable. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the free e-ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Adorably cute book to read to kids. Enjoyed reading it and Dewdrop was so cute. I was cheering Dewdrop during the whole story.
Absolutely adorable art style and characters. Would I buy this for my nephews? Yes I would.
I'd recommend this one for small children up to the age of 4.
The animals want to have a sports competition, but they aren't feeling good about themselves. Mia the turtle doesn't think she can do as well as the other athletes. The fish worry that their food won't be good enough to serve, and Newman is having trouble writing a song for the event.
Little social butterfly that Dewdrop is, they go to each person in turn to give them confidence in themselves.

Simple story, nicely told, with bright colors and the lovely characters that this author is soo good at drawing.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
The sweetest most adorable book ever! Love Dewdrop and the rest of her friends. The lesson is easy for little ones to understand. I will be adding this to my preschool library! I will be looking for the rest of Katie O'Neill's books. I am honored to have read this one.
The moral was great and the illustrations are memorable but I'm not overly in love with it. The comic like aspect underwhelmed. The colors are bright and the ending was cute though...
Oh my gosh this was absolutely adorable and wholesome! It's completely what you need to read if you're feeling a bit low; if you need a little reminder that giving your personal best is all you can do, that comparing yourself to other people will bring nothing. It's just such a pure story. Even just the art style makes this story worth the read.
This book has been sent to me to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
What a beautiful, heart warming and heart melting story this is! My daughter adores Dewdrop and I've fallen in love with her precious selfless little heart too.
Dewdrop and her friends can't wait for sports day, but as it approaches, Dewdrops friends start doubting themselves and fearing what they do isn't good enough. Dewdrop takes time to visit each friend to help and support them and make them realise how special they are no matter who they are or what they do.
This book is so full of little hidden meanings and beautiful quotes that really do warm your heart.
Katie O'Neill can do no wrong. Dewdrop is just the most adorable young graphic novel about being a good friend and understanding that you have you don't need to judge yourself against other people or their expectations. I already had a copy in a cart to purchase, but I'll definitely be buying more than one copy because it will check out for sheer cuteness and I think kids need books like this.
As normal with Katie O'Neill , This was precious and beautiful. The story focused on being yourself and helping others and that was done with the beautiful drawings and colours.
I recommend this especially for little children.I think I will read everything the author does even if it isn't in my typical age range.
I absolutely adore Katie O'Neill's illustrations, and Dewdrop is no different! The story is super cute, promoting kindness and not judging yourself against other people... all through a very tiny cheerleading axolotl! This kids book is great gift for any children who (like me) are perfectionists that need a reminder that your accomplishments are always something to be proud of and that everyone has unique skills that they bring to our community. The coloring is bright and encouraging and will be immediately familiar to and loved by fans of the Tea Dragon Society.
I love Katie O'Neill's work as an illustrator and graphic novelist, and "Dewdrop" only made me cherish her even more. This story follows an adorable axolotl, Dewdrop, and her friends as they prepare for and compete in their pond's festive sports fair. Dewdrop's friends are clearly passionate about their own unique talents and interests but eventually begin struggling with feelings of self-doubt and insecurity as they assess the competition. Sound familiar? After noticing her friends' behavior, Dewdrop comes along and reminds them of what really matters.
"Dewdrop" is an uplifting and encouraging story for readers of all ages. I can't wait to purchase my own copy!
Very nice illustrations, super cute and a very good story for kids that has a message of being your own best.
Thanks a lot to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
