A top whodunnit. Lots of siblings, secrets and desire for revenge, the perfect ingredients for a family reunion on a boat. I very much enjoyed this book, it is the first Jo Spain that I have read and I will be searching out some more.

Thanks Netgalley and Jo Spain for this advanced reader's copy... Devoured this today, it's lashing and the perfect book to curl up with. An array of characters that I found myself genuinely caring for. A stunning story that gradually comes together like a jigsaw. Absolute page turner!

Another must read from Jo Spain
Six siblings all hiding something
The return of one Son
and a tyrant of a father
plus plenty of twists and turns, believable characters and a clever ending makes this a gripping read

Thank you Jo Spain, Quercus and netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I like Jo Spain’s books and Six Wicked Reasons sounded promisingly like a good old fashioned murder mystery where everybody has a grudge of some kind against the deceased. And so indeed it proved to be.

When Adam Lattimer returns home after disappearing without trace years earlier, he finds a rather different family to the one he’d left, although father Frazer has t changed - or improved - at all. Mother Kathleen has died, and as Adam’s five siblings - James, Ellen, Kate, Ryan and Clio - converge on the family home, tensions rise. Frazer’s death - accident or murder? - presents quite a challenge to local detective Rob, because it seems every one of his children has reason to hate him.

The story never quite grabbed me to the point of being unputdownable - I found the six siblings initially quite a lot to keep straight in my mind and sometimes forgot who was who - but was nevertheless enjoyable and well written and plotted... as expected from this author.

This book was fast paced. Hard to put down. It flowed well and it was very well written. It caught hold of me and had me hooked from the start . I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this book.

It's official! Jo Spain can do no wrong! I've loved each and every one of her books from the stand-alones to each instalment of the Tom Reynolds series. Six Wicked Reasons is another winner for Jo Spain. A cleverly plotted and terrific page-turner. A twisted family drama that kept me turning the pages. Great back stories for each character with a satisfying ending.

Loved it!

My thanks to NetGalley and Quercus

What another brilliant book by John Spain I just love her books I had to read in one sitting it was brilliantly crafted and I would highly recommend.

Wow this family is all twisted, they are a total mess but then if I had their Dad I’m fairly sure I’d have murdered him as a teenager….

As it is they are all adults now, including the seemingly dead Adam, one night, one boat trip and all the grievances build up to a murderous crescendo..

Jo Spain writes marvellously complex psychological thrillers, Six Wicked Reasons does exactly what it says on the tin and then some, throwing the reader into a madly divisive family dynamic with a christie-esque undertow and some beautifully clever plotting.

I devoured it in one sitting, the setting was absorbing, the cast of characters all absolutely compelling and this author is one of a few out there putting the genuine psychological back into thriller.

Highly Recommended.

Sorry but this wasn't for me, I found it hard to get into the storyline and couldn't get on with the characters.

I normally enjoy books from this author but sadly this wasn't for me and I did a lot of skim reading just to get to the end.

Thank you to Netgalley and Quercus Books for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

You can always rely on Jo Spain to twist your mind. This is no exception. Imagine a son returning to the family home years after a supposed disappearance? The secrets THAT is going to rack up. Cracking breakdown of family relations and secrets. No locations as such but set in Ireland. From the cover, it seems to be a nice area with a lovely lawn however!

There's more than six reasons to read this. If you like twisty, suspciious family dramas and secrets galore then getting inside the heads of this lot is going to be good. A wide cast of characters and a slowly burning story gives your mind so many places to wander

The cover for Six Wicked Reasons is beautiful. Simple image but it immediately caught my attention.

I’ll start by saying I’m a huge Jo Spain fan so I was so excited to be approved for this story but I just couldn’t get into it. It’s a slow start and has too many characters to keep up with.
I’m so sorry I was ready to give SWR a great review but it’s not my cup of tea.
