This is a perfectly adequate collection of mini-biographies of the entrepreneurs who made America and became fabulously wealthy doing so, from Vanderbilt to J P Morgan – with a few outliers like Tesla (not sure how he crept in). The facts are here, written in an accessible and digestible format – short chapters with a summary of the key points at the end of each one. There’s nothing new here, no depth or insight, merely an overview of the industrial and economic growth of the United States, and as such it’s a useful primer, especially for students, but it wasn’t a rewarding read for me, and I feel it’s no more than a handy reference guide.

American Titans | The Tycoons Who Built America was an interesting read. I liked learning more about these people in history. I give this book four stars.
