Holly Wainwright is such a delight of an author. I read her book The Mummy Bloggers earlier this year and was really happy to see this had been added to Netgalley. This is quite a quick read but so enjoyable, relatable and fun. Fantastic characters, brilliant storyline - well done Holly!

I enjoyed this book but found I got a little confused with the characters. Not sure whether I should have read the first book then I would have been more familiar with the characters.

Although this is centred around the blog world, I did enjoy it even though I'm not too familiar with it all! It has some very funny bits that are often very relatable if you have kids!

Overall a good and enjoyable read and I would recommend to others, especially if they are from the blog world!

Thank you Legend Press and NetGalley.

I loved the Mummy Bloggers, so couldn’t wait to get my hands on this. It’s just as funny and engaging! Holly Wainwright is fast becoming one of my favourite authors!

Welcome to the world of Mommy Bloggers, of curated Instagram shots, of juice fasts, perfect meals and yoga retreats. All real, of course…or not.

Passionate, kind hearted Abi is planning wedding to her lover Grace while her unemployed ex-husband Adrian lives on her property trying to become a published author. Between the three, they have six children. The oldest is Arden, a teenager who wants nothing more than to be a YouTube influencer and the youngest two are Adrian’s sons, whose mother is the glamorous…

Elle, the creator of the wellness empire Gurva with entrepreneur Ben Bont. Elle’s blog posts are of beautiful, captivating images and totally imaginary. She portrays herself as the perfect earth mother, spending hours each day with peaceful baby Alma who never cries. As she is pictured floating around the Gurva retreat in white yoga wear, she brings out all the self-doubts and insecurities faced by…

Frances, a nurse on maternity leave with possible postpartum depression, a colicky baby, and mounting debts. Those debts are caused by an irrational desire to buy health products advertised on Elle’s Gurva website.

The lives of these three women intersect in at a Guava wellness weekend. No spoilers here.

How to be Perfect is a blazing, brilliant expose of social media and the problems it creates. While the novel is funny (promise me, you WILL laugh), it is also sad, tragic and highlights the issues faced by young people trying to find their way in a digital world.

I gave this book four stars because I had some difficulty figuring out relationships and stories that happened in Holly Wainwright’s previous novel, The Mommy Bloggers. I’m going to read that next!

Don't be fooled by the title, THIS IS NOT A SELF BOOK. I haven't read THE MUMMY BLOGGERS though, but this is a follow up of the book. It's a fun read with a lot of chaos that makes the book even more amusing. It’s often laugh out loud funny and never fails to be entertaining.
Covering serious issues at both the blogging industry and the wellness industry. it poked fun at Instagram/ social media and the culture surrounding it.
This book will make you laugh, question how addicted to social media you are, and the length people will go to make that fake PERFECT social media life.

I wanted to like this book but I couldn't connect to the characters and the book fell flat.
It's well written but not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
