Wow!!! What a ride this book was!! So many different twists and turns - multiple mysteries and victims - are they related? I didn’t want to put the book down so I could figure it all out! Lisa Regan never disappoints and this book continues to deliver what I have come to love from her writing! Josie, the strong yet flawed female lead who continues to fight her own demons while also battling those out in the world! I am already anxiously awaiting the next book from Regan!

Thanks @netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read one of my favorite authors next book. It did not disappoint. As always i adore the characters and the writing is spot on.
This suspenseful tale starts off as suspicious deaths in the woods with very little to go on. It quickly adds in a missing people, a possible cult and a long since missing person reappearing. Do these events all tie together? If so how? One thing is for sure nothing is as it originally seems.
I adore Josie Quinn and her team, this book was fast paced and a fantastic read. I highly highly recommend picking up this book!!

Firstly thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC of the latest Josie Quinn book by Lisa Regan. OMG what can I say about this book or this series... WOW WOW WOW!!!!
This book is just fantastic. Totally gripped me from the first page to the last. This story takes you on a cracker of a ride, a ride that I didn't want to end. I was totally immersed in the story and some of the descriptive passages, especially in the caverns, made you feel as if you were experiencing it for yourself. I love everything there is about Lisa Regan;s books. I cannot recommend highly enough this page turner of a book. 5 stars all the way. Just wish I could give it more.

I have loved all the books in this series so far and this was no exception. I really like the main character Josie and her relationship with Noah, a fellow police officer. Although it can easily be read as a stand-alone I would recommend the books are read in order so you can get the background of Josie and her colleagues. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me gripped and I feel the series just keeps getting better. Hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next instalment!

This is the seventh book in the Detective Josie Quinn series. Josie is called to a scene in the woods where a couple’s bodies are found next to camping gear. It quickly seems like there was a third person who is now missing. Josie and her team have to unravel the mystery of who the third camper was and are they in danger?
This is another great read from Regan. Her novels do not disappoint. Her stories are fast paced and very well thought out. Her plots are fantastic, there are so many layers to the mystery, and she slowly unravels it. There is nothing more disappointing when you can figure out “whodunit” at the beginning of a book, and Regan’s are consistently not like this. She is fantastic and one of my favorite in police procedurals/suspense/mystery authors. I always look forward to new books of hers that are issued. Another great read!

I have read and enjoyed several miss Regan books. This one is the latest Josie Quinn book.
It starts off with the discovery of two bodies and develops into a more complex investigation including the discovery of Maya,a pregnant woman, a missing woman and a seemingly innocent group of people in The Sanctuary.
Josie is investigating these whilst dealing with the woman who abused her as a child who is dying in prison.
This is a complex and intriguing book with many strands to follow, all interconnected.
Charlotte, the landowner and head of the Sanctuary is a deep and complex character.
Josie and Noah, her live in boyfriend, investigate the murders and the sudden disappearance of Maya from the hospital where she has abandoned her new born baby..
I enjoyed this book a lot. The many twists and turns keep you immersed in the story.
I did struggle a bit with the Sanctuary storyline, particularly with Charlotte’s character as it seemed a bit far fetched.
4 Star book from a great writer

Detective Josie Quinn and her partner at work and home, Lt. Noah Fraley, are called to a possible murder scene in the woods. A young couple are dead, lying next to each other and holding hands. There is a third sleeping bag, but no third victim. As they search for the possible missing person, they come upon an area called the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is supposed to be a place of peace and recovery, but is it really? While there, Josie interacts with a young woman who is scared, but will not accept her help. Josie has been suffering nightmares about her childhood and the abusive woman, now dying in prison, who raised her. She continues to deal with the years of her life that was stolen, from her and her real family, by this woman. Is it time to forgive and let go of the past? An amazing series that I highly recommend…the cases are complex and the characters continue to grow along with the stories. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

This book is readable as a stand-alone but it is much more rewarding if you start with book one and follow the character growth! When I read the first Josie Quinn book I was a little meh on Josie actually but as the series has progressed I have grown to love her.

The plot of this story was very dark. From the get-go Josie knows she's being lied to by many of the people intertwined in the case but can't figure out why they're lying or what they're hiding. Just when I thought I could trust someone, some new tidbit would come to light. It's really jaw-dropping once it all unravels and the truth comes out.

So many decent people die during this case, it's quite sad and heartbreaking and leaves you wishing Josie and the gang had been able to figure things out earlier. It's hard to say more without spoiling the story and half the fun is the twists and turn this case takes. It's quite the ride. Very much a YIN YANG book which combines lightness and darkness. Although, at the end of the day, I feel like the book loses balance and the darkness kind of wins out because there is no happy ending for anyone in this story.

Number 7 in the series and another gripping instalment. The hot humid oppressive weather is the perfect setting for this fast paced tale. This book works perfectly well as a standalone but I love the fact that I’m au fait with the subplots as these, for me anyway, add to the enjoyment. That being said there is not much mention of some of the characters we have come to know in this one, The discovery of two dead hikers opens a tangled plot that lures Josie in while at the same time she’s fighting with her old demons. An unexpected twist in the end too. Altogether a cracking good read.

This is a number 1 author on my List. Love this series. Regan tells great crime drama that entwine together to make for a fantastic read. Josie Quinn Series should be read from the beginning to really get the dynamics of the characters. Having read all of this series except for the first one; when I picked it up recently I just kept nodding my head as to "OK that makes sense now" Troubled Past, Romance, and Josie's goal to safe lives make this novel impossible to put down. "A copy of this book was provided by Bookouture via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." If Regan writes it I plan to Read it!!!

Another amazing story in this series from Lisa Regan! This time around, Detective Josie Quinn and her team are searching for a missing third camper that they believe fled the scene of a murder & robbery out in the middle of the woods. Is the third camper the killer or another victim? Their search finds them combing through the deep woods and coming upon 'The Sanctuary,' a cult-like group of people who live off of the land as they retreat from society. They're not helpful with the police inquiries and Josie is determined to find out how much they know and what they are hiding. Add to this a mysterious hermit that lives in these same woods and lives in underground caverns, and you have one heck of an intriguing mystery!

Although a hidden cult and hermit in the woods may sound over the top, it's definitely not. The landscape is bleak, the forests are dark and who knows what else is out there? As is typical with this series, as soon as I started reading I didn't want to put it down! It's like you're right there with Josie and her team and you can almost feel the same exhaustion that they do, working tirelessly to bring the killer to justice. That's one of the things I love about these books, clues don't magically appear, killers don't confess, and the cases aren't easy. It's through steely physical detective work that they get the job done. I just love this series and I have no idea how I'm going to make it until the next book comes out!

Cold Heart Creek is book number 7 in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. Cold Heart Creek is a stand alone story, but so much richer (for me) having read the first 6 in this saga. Ms Regan does an excellent job of giving the reader a mystery to follow and likable characters that after so many stories feel like old friends. I want to thank Bookouture and Net Galley for an early copy to review.

A story line with lots of twists and turns going back to Josie Quinn’s early years living with an abusive mother. Leads to a fascinating story involving a strange cult. Which finally helps Josie to come to terms with her own problematic childhood.

This is the seventh outing for Detective Josie Quinn and is jus5 as good as previous. I was slightly disappointed that Trinity was not in this book as I like the reporter and detective roles.
Josie is trying to come to terms with the upcoming death of her mother when a couple are found dead in the forest. What follows is a rollercoaster of a ride as they try to discover who might have killed the campers and why.
A great read but please bring back Trinity for book eight.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is book seven in the Josie Quinn series and can be read as a stand-alone. The established plot and character arcs are brilliantly developed and continue to draw reader interest while Lisa Regan weaves new and intriguing subplots into the new storyline. While the police procedural takes center stage, offering all the twists and turns Regan is known for, it is main character, Detective Josie Quinn, and her evolving character arc that keeps readers coming back. A perfect mix of crime, mystery, and emotional angst. 5 stars.

Thank you to #NetGalley and @Bookouture for this ARC. #ColdHeartCreek was read and reviewed voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This author can weave a tale that always takes you on a journey but it's never in a straight line and it never ends the way you expect it to. In a genre that is over saturated it's nice to get the unexpected every book.

Josie childhood was horrific and she still has nightmares over it but she has never let that interfere with any investigation she is assigned. What started out as finding a married couple dead in the forest from an apparent poisoning morphed into an insane story.

I love that I never know what I am going to get story wise in this series from book to book and always look forward to the next one.

If I ever made a list of my 10 favorite book "heroines," Josie Quinn would be in there somewhere. Yes, she's got emotional baggage as a result of an extremely abusive childhood, but unlike way too many other lead characters with similar backgrounds, she doesn't whimper and whine about it and gets on with her life in fine fettle (excepting perhaps those awful nightmares). That life, for the record, includes her duties as a detective in largely rural parts of Pennsylvania and Noah, a partner both professionally and personally (for the record, I like him a lot as well).

As this episode begins, Josie and Noah are called out when two bodies are found at a remote campground about half a mile from Cold Heart Creek. At first blush, it appears that they were poisoned - even, perhaps, in a suicide pact. But further investigation changes the outlook in two ways: They are murder victims, and there was a third camper at the site who is inexplicably missing.

The search for clues makes a significant stop at a fenced-in section of private property called The Sanctuary, a haven for societal misfits who, according to commune leader and property owner Charlotte, need to find themselves. Although all the residents are willing to answer questions, Josie and Noah are pretty sure they're not being totally honest. Then, on the drive home, Josie nearly collides with a very pregnant woman staggering out of the woods - who proceeds to give birth in Josie's car. When she's finally identified and hospitalized, the woman claims to have been kidnapped two years ago and held captive in some of the remote caves that dot the region. The plot thickens even more when a young girl Josie met at the commune turns up dead.

Admittedly, there are bits and pieces that stretch credulity a bit, but overall this is a book I really didn't want to put down and could have finished in a day had the facts of my personal life not intervened. And while I have read and enjoyed other books in the series, this one stands quite well on its own. I do thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review a pre-release copy.
