Set in the present day in America and Scotland. Maura is a Scottish clan chief trying to save the clan’s castle from ruin. Tag is the estranged son of an American branch of a neighboring clan who has been financially assisting Maura’s castle quest. Tag’s father has just died so Tag travels to see this investment. Tag and Maura first meet as strangers stranded in a snowstorm and their attraction is immediate. Although the plot seems to have more lovemaking scenes than anything else, the characters have depth and are realistic and very sympathetic.
I would recommend this to my patrons.

The story of Tag and Maura.
When Tag inherits his estranged Father's estate, he is intrigued by letters from maura to his Father, enough that he heass to Scotland to find her.
All is not as he expected when he gets there though.
A great read.

Catch Me If You Can

One of Donna Kauffman’s Scottish tales being re-released, originally it was published in July of 2004. Taggart Morgan left his father’s wishes behind and studied history and genealogy. When his father passed he needed to leave his project in the Mayan Ruins and head home to help settle the estate in a remote town in Scotland. At the same time Maura Sinclair was trying to keep the large Morgan estate of Ballantrae running. Since her boss’s death, paperwork was filed and refiled but it was becoming apparent that she may lose the land and the managerial position. Driving along in the cold and the snow her car slid into an old truck driven by Tag Morgan. Neither vehicle would start and the road was clear of traffic. They found themselves in the back of Maura’s car trying to stay warm until someone passed by to help. Neither mentioned names only the trials that came to pass.
A road worker stopped to help and took them to a local Bed and Breakfast for the night until the cars could be towed come morning. Maura and Tag found immediate magic together. Thinking their togetherness would be for one night, neither ask for details of their business on the road.
The story continues on mostly with the ongoing affair between the two. Once back in the Castle Ballantrae their histories became necessary conversations.
I had not read any of Kauffman’s Morgan Brothers series. This was a first. Interesting, racey, and not as clever as her recent novels. I enjoyed the last section of the story more as it dealt with Tag’s local discoveries. Catch Me If You Can by Donna Kauffman will be released again on December 31, 2019 by Kensington Books.

I loved, Catch Me If You Can! I like to find information out about my ancestors, Maura is lucky to know so much about hers. Tag on the other hand has a lot to learn about his.

Tag travels to Scotland to find out what his estranged father did to get land before he died. Reprint of a 2004 book ARC from NetGalley.
