this was a really good read, the reading was never boring and you could tell the author did a lot of research. I look forward to more from the author.

This book about the history of Vikings and how it meshes with so many other things is not a quick read, but worth the time spent. I read some of it, put the book down to "digest" it, and then read some more. Very interesting!

Fascinating book that has clearly the result of a lot of work. I really enjoyed learning some of the Norse history and stories. It did take me a while to read but that's because I was learning and liked to look things up on the side. I'd recommend this to anyone with an interest in the Norse stories and influences.

As someone who is absolutely obsessed with anything Norse or Viking related, this was a real treat to come across. Recommend for anyone interested in looking at things in a unique or new perspective.

What a complex study! More esoteric than Marvel/LOTR and a somewhat more difficult read. Some of the conclusions mesh easily with their service in the Varangian Guard and backed partly by antiquities, mythology, neuroscience, philosophy, late night History Channel, there's a lot going on. The author maps out the parallels and intersections of the Nordic mystics with the pan Asian derivatives and the ways in which both influence Christianity as we know it. He uses story telling, drawings, poetry, and facts blended to illustrate the theory of Hindu influence on the Vikings. He pointed out the known Eastern influence on Celts and Druids and the inclusion of Sanskrit. All is concluded with a translation of the Poetic Edda. It's a good thing that ebook allows highlights for future perusal!
