I absolutely adore this cream tea series!! This time we follow Delilah ( Lila) as she comes to stay with the owner of the cream tea bus her cousin Charlie. lIla has been having some problems in life and comes to stay to sort her work/life out. She helps Charlie on the bus and is perfect addition! When a movie director comes aboard before we know it Lila is offering catering for a new tv series. Although a little crazy it does take us in a great adventure from the norm! Lila meets the cast Sam, Keeley, Toby and Winston. Although she falls head over heels for one of the cast members we go on a bumpy romance ride. I don’t want to spoil the plot but as always we come to a happy ending, and that’s always a winner for me!

This is such a light girlie read I loved it but if you don’t like slushy similar stories and good light make you smile endings then don’t read it. I each for these types of books when I have read hard thrillers and they always deliver make me feel good and ease my mind

This is the second Cornish cream tea bus book I’ve read and this is equally as good as the first. Lovely story line although slightly predictable at times which just lightens the mood and keeps you hooked right to the end.

Thank you to Netgalley for a pre publication copy. In return for an honest #thecornishcreamteasummer:partobe-allyoukneadislove#netgalley

Lila leaves London after a bust up with her decade long best friend. Ending up in Cornwall with her cousin Charlie who owns The Cornish Cream Tea Bus. Lila begins helping Charlie out in return for bed and board. Can Lila find herself again?

The cover drew me to this book. Its cornish scene with aqua blues makes it a divine set to make you want to jump in. Although normallynovels being split, into four small e-books, puts me off due to the author being one I'd heard so many good things about. I knew I must read it.

This is part one of four and reads beautifully as a short story by itself. I have not read the full novel yet. However when I do i will let you know my thoughts.

The characters complimented each other beautifully and I felt it was so effective that Lila and Charlie were both strong female characters. However their strengths lay in completely different places. Making them so unique although together due to being cousins.

On the other hand I did feel at parts it read very simply and almost child like. I think this is because it moves forward in time very fast. We go from Lila telling Charlie about using the bus on set to being there. Nothing explored fully in between, other than a few sentences, re:planning, Lilas thoughts on not being so spontaneous with the bus, what will they do to make it different and special.

I still prefer the full novel but if all 'parts' of books are like this I will pick them up in the future!

Gorgeous continuation from the first book and was lovely to return to some familiar faces, along with being introduced to new one, I can't wait to read the rest!

This book is a novella which is part one of 4 parts. I Would suggest reading the full book, as it is truly amazing and you won’t be disappointed!

Many thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins for this book. Having very much enjoyed The Cornish cream tea bus series, I was excited to read this one, which picks up where the last book left off. Charlie's cousin comes to visit her in Cornwall and works on the bus, with sometimes unsuccessful consequences. Whilst it could be read as a stand alone book, I think it works well as part of a series. Not as good as the last ones but I'm looking forward to the next ones.

It's lovely to be back with Charlie and her Cornish Cream Tea Bus. This time her cousin Lila is running from her imploded life in London. Charlie and Lila are close but have very different personalities. Impulsive Lila soon ruffles Charlie's organised life with the best of intentions. A contract with a film company on location challenges Lila's career plans and her emotional future. Meeting the actors and film crew engages Lila and draws her into a glamorous world. It's so enjoyable for the reader too.

The beautiful setting believable characters and engaging plot make this an enjoyable, effortless read. I'm looking forward to reading the remaining three parts of this serialised story.

I received a copy of this book from Harper Collins UK -Harper Fiction via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

The Cornish Cream Tea Summer Part 1 by Cressida McLaughlin

Delila is full of enthusiasm but disaster seems to be her middle name and it follows her around. Having had a major disaster she ends up losing her job and her best friend from childhood in one great move! She goes off to Cornwall to visit her cousin Charlie and lick her wounds and try to get life back on track. Charlie has made a big success of setting up a Cornish tea room in an old converted bus called Gertie.

A bit slow to get started following the trials & tribulations of Lila on the run up to the summer with Charlie on board Gertie. Just getting engrossed in the story when it ended !

I really wish if you are doing a series of books they can stand alone as a story as reading this book it’s longer than a sampler/Novello but the story just ends at the end of part 1 leaving too many loose ends. Disappointed hopefully will be able to read the next instalment soon! It has the potential to be a really good read.

Absolutely loved everything about this book & the fact that it was based in Cornwall, the storyline and the characters.
Such an easy read and I can't wait to read the rest in the series.

I've not met Charlie, Lila or Gertie before and loved these 9 chapters.
Lila reminds me of people I've worked with in the past, lots of ideas and enthusiasm, but somehow things just go wrong for her, I'm rooting for her to make the best of her time on the Cornish coast.
Loved it, have requested the full bookto read and review.

Absolutely loved this book!! After reading other reviews, I wish I had read Cressida's other books based around these characters just to understand them more and have more of a connection to Charlie and Leila but it can be read as a stand alone, I thoroughly enjoyed it and however backwards it may be, im going to go and read the others as well! I can't wait for more!

This really is the Perfect escapism to Cornwall for part of your day, set in four parts it did not take long to read part one.

Charlie is proud owner of Gertie the tea bus, when cousin Lila turns up what chaos does she bring.

Even if set in a cold February what is not to love about this story it really is a fun read that I really enjoyed, can't wait to read the rest.

I just wish I had read about Gertie in the cornish cream tea first.

Haha the title alone is full of baking puns. A cute sweet read. There are plenty more in the series, I’m not sure how motivated I am to read them all but I’ll give them a go!

This book, originally published electronically in four parts, follows on from this author’s previous novel, The Cornish Cream Tea Bus. I have waited until having read all parts before writing this review to avoid giving away any spoilers. Although this could well be read as a stand-alone book, I would recommend reading the other novel first. Many of the characters have been well established in the first book and it would be easier to understand the relationships with previous knowledge. I found this a quick and satisfying read, eagerly awaiting publication of each part of the e-series.

In this book, the proprietor of the Cornish Cream Tea Bus, Charlie, is joined by her cousin, Delilah (Lila for short), whose impetuous nature has got her into trouble, resulting in her losing both her job and her best friend. She has fled from her life in London to stay with Charlie in the lovely Cornish seaside village of Porthgolow for a while. A chance meeting between Lila and a TV executive results in the bus becoming part of the onsite catering provision for the set of a period drama being filmed nearby. Both girls enjoy meeting the cast and crew members as they serve them delicious offerings. Lila becomes particularly friendly with actors Sam and Keeley, and even discovers a flair for acting herself. As time goes on, it looks as though Lila’s feelings towards Sam could be more than friendship, but she’s not sure whether taking things further would be the best step for either of them.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this book, and the series, to other readers. There is a satisfying mix of serious and light-hearted moments. Lila’s impulsive actions had me worried on more than one occasion and glad of the steadying influence of her more grounded cousin. While making a lovely summer read, i feel that the story would, in fact, raise the spirits at any time of the year, as the reader is treated to descriptions of the picturesque Cornish seaside and countryside as well as a myriad of delicious things to eat and drink. I enjoyed the peak behind the scenes on the film set, with the characters appearing in costume from time to time evoking thoughts of Poldark and Jane Austen novels. I was happy to find that another book in the Cornish Cream Tea series is in the pipeline, hopefully with us for Christmas; I shall be on the lookout for that.

Very easy read, about Delilah who has messed her life up in London and run away to her cousin Charlie. Charlie has fixed up a bus and made it into a Cornish cream tea shop. Delila, Lila for short, meets up with Winston, while helping out on the bus and ends up getting an exciting new venture fixed up for a film set, supplying food. She meets actors, crew and the producer, follow along with her on this cute (or should that be quaint) little story, I liked it
