I enjoyed this novel even though it was very unusual. Kate, a local GP is accused of murdering a young 17-year-old girl and is questioned and released by the police. So who is the real culprit? Her good friend and ally helps her but there are so many twists and the priest in her parish is little help as well. Many red herrings and suspects that could be the murderer but of course the ones we suspect are not the killers. So go into this one open-minded or you will be very surprised at the end!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Not quite sure what to make of this book , it was a bit slow but quite well written. The story was a bit basic but it did show some of the ways people of Ireland carry on with their beliefs in religion and abortion . I would recommend it as it may appeal to people but didn’t quite work for me .

When a teenagers is murdered, her GP Kate O'Leary is a suspect, after the girl's blood is found in Kate's house. Rumours start to spread and Kate realises she must find out who really killed the girl, to clear her name and also to keep herself safe... A thrilling story with good twists and turns. I liked how it was set in Northern Ireland and how we see the various locations within it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

Apologies this was a DNF for me as instantly disliked the 2 main characters and the way they spoke in conversation with each other

3 for neutral, unfortunately I tried to read this on a few occasions and could not get into it. Will update or able to get into at a later date, as I’m a very moody reader,

Local Whispers by C. K. Williams was a hard book to get into but I am so glad I stayed with it. It was fast paced and full of big twists and turns throughout with so much going on. A very clever well written book.
I loved the characters and they were so believable

Kate's position as a GP in the close knit community has not always been easy, especially as she doesn't always conform to their beliefs. When a seventeen year old is found brutally murdered & her blood is found in Kate's house she turns to her long time friend Jannis, a German architect. He leaves what commitments he has & rushes to try & help Kate. It seems that Kate has already been judged in the court of public opinion, how can the two of them find the truth when everyone seems to have cut her off.

This was an interesting read. The author captured the atmosphere of the claustrophobic village very well. At times I wanted to shake some sense into Kate & wasn't sure what to make of Jannis! All in all it was an entertaining read. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

A twisty and gripping story, dark at times that kept me turning pages.
I appreciated the descriptions of the closed community, the growing tension and the dark humour.
It's the first book i read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Claustrophobic Suspense…
A murder in a small village brings local whispers to a crescendo in this tense and atmospheric suspense. Credible characters, a swiftly moving plot line and a claustrophobic feel come together for an edge of seat, compelling read. Well executed.

Local Whispers by CK Williams is about a small town in Ireland where gossip and rumours are rife. When a young girl is found murdered, suspicion falls on the local GP and she fights to find who was really to blame before the whole town turns on her.

I liked this book. The characters were interesting but I found a few of them to be a little bit over the top. This may just be because I was never raised religious or have been in a place where religion was a large part of the community, so I found it a little hard to connect to some of the characters.

It was a good read and had the twists and turns you expect from a psychological thriller.

FYA:- SORRY, I COULD NOT POST THIS REVIEW ONTO GOODREADS AS THE AUTHOR DOES NOT HAVE A PROFILE PAGE. THERE IS ANOTHER C.K. WILLIAMS BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME PERSON.

Kate O'Leary's position in the small village in Northern Ireland has been precarious. With strong beliefs that don't always align with those of her deeply religious community, it's a place she has made home. Her role as the local GP, helping generations of those in need, gains her grudging respect in the village. That is, until the body of a young woman is found and her blood is in Kate's house.

The pace is fast in this twist filled and tense read. The characters are well developed and believable. There's lots going on in this book and it will keep you guessing as more surprises are revealed. This is a cleverly crafted story that had me guessing to the end. This was my first read by the author but it won't be my last.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #HarperCollinsUK #OneMoreChapter and the author #C.K.Williams for my ARC of #LocalWhispers in exchange for an honest review.

Local Whispers by C.K. Williams

I've not read a book by the author before. A great read full of suspense , twists and turns a real physiological railroad of a read .

A female G.P is a suspect after blood is found in her house following the discovery of a body. Kate calls on her friend Jannis to help her prove her innocence.
I would read further titles by this author. Thoroughly enjoyed it .

Local Whispers by C.K Williams is the first book I’ve reading by the author. The book centres around a local GP woman named Kate who is being accused of killing a young girl, who happens to be one of her patients. We are made very aware that Kate is not the killer and the book follows Kate and her best friend Janinis who both try to clear Kates name and find out who the real culprit is.
I really liked this book, the author wrote the character of Kate so well and I really felt sorry for her. I paced through the book quickly wanting to get to the justice of Kate. Just when I thought I had guessed the culprit the author slips in another twist and I am scrambling my head again and going back to the drawing board.
This book is definitely an easy quick read, full of intense and suspense. Just enough characters for a “whodunnit” and it will really keep you intrigued from start to finish.

Thank you to the author, Harper Collins UK and Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read this amazing book.

The plot sounded so interesting but the mystery was flat and took so long to develop I had long since stopped caring. Not even an entertaining guilty pleasure
