A fun, delightful romp through Paris. Such a fun, chick-lit style read.

This was, quite possibly, the worst book to read in lockdown. It was so well written and enjoyable that it made me want to pack my bags and go on a bus tour myself! I have never been so inspired to travel around Europe in my life! The descriptions were so vivid, I could practically taste the pasta and the wine! I loved this book and wouldn't hesitate to read another by Sandy Barker.

I absolutely loved this series. This was book two and it was amazing.
I loved we gotta to know sarah from the first series sister and this was about her. Cat. I liked Cat as she was very different to Sarah but equally as likeable and made you earn to her right away. She goes out of her comfort zone and meets some amazing friends.

I was laughing out loud in so many areas. I love Paris and it made me want to go there again.

I was routing for her the whole time to get her happy ever after.

Very romantic. I loved the journey I went on. The food references was amazing.

Like her previous books Sandy writes about the destinations, that makes you feel like you are there and then wanting to go see it for yourself. My bucket list is growing thanks to her books.

loved Sandy’s first book, One Summer in Santorini and I didn’t think she’d beat that in terms of reader enjoyment but…I was wrong. Oh my goodness – That Night in Paris is now my favourite (sorry Sandy x).

On this blog I like to create new lingo so I think the phrase – ‘I’m going to do a Cat Parsons’ – should be what we say when we want to run away from the problems in our life and go wild. Cat Parsons is our inspirational figure as she went on a fabulous holiday, made some new friends along the way, drank beautiful wine, ate wonderful food, laughed a lot and had a spot of romance in a gorgeous destination.

I thought the romance and travel plots were great but for me the standout was the way this book brings to life Cat’s relationship with her new friends on the coach trip. Sandy writes female friendships really well and I loved how each bus bestie had a backstory and a reason for taking this life changing coach journey; Lou and her divorce, Jaelee and the love for her best friend who had just got married and Danielle whose best friend did not invite her to her wedding. I loved the bond these women forged, how they didn’t try to put each other down and how they were like a rock for each other. I also loved Mama Lou‘s hugs What took this book to the next level was that each of these women learnt something about themselves during this coach trip. It wasn’t just Cat who had a life changing experience.

The surprise meeting with friend from childhood Jean-Luc, who was an exchange student and stayed with her family in Australia, was brilliant. He’s grown into a really gorgeous man and YES I had feelings for him. At one point I wanted to move Cat out of the way and ask whether he fancied spending a fictional night in Paris with me instead.

The travel plot was fabulous and it does make you want to go see some of these places. Sandy weaves in so much detail with each place her characters visit and at times you do wonder whether Sandy should host a TV travel show.

This book was brilliant escapism!

I completely loved this book!

What a beautifully romantic story. I really loved the character of Cat and following her (literal) journey of self-discovery and self-development. After a very difficult time in life, Cat decides she needs some time out and books a coach holiday with total strangers. Being the person she is, it doesn’t take long for Cat to meet and get to know some new girls on the bus and so begins the start of a fun filled trip round Europe for Cat and the other girls.

What cat doesn’t expect is a blast from the past in the form of her best friend from her teenage years – the very lovely Jean Luc. The story follows the renewed friendship and obvious growing feelings between Cat and Jean Luc. I really enjoyed That Night in Paris and can totally recommend it anyone looking for that real romantic and loving feeling and for anyone who believes that true love really does exist.

This review is written as an exchange for me receiving this book for free from Netgalley. This was such a pleasant read! Although one might consider it as a light right, it certainly did not fail to delivery a variety of emotions taking me along the ride of what the characters where going through throughout the story. Definitely recommend it to everyone!

Book was not for me. I DNF it. To be honest, I would it boring. I did not care for the female lead of the book from page one.

This one was cute! It was a slow burn but i still enjoyed the friendship aspect of the story. All i wanted to do was travel through Europe while reading this book. It brought back so many memories of trips that Ive taken it in the past.

The titel of the book is a bit misleading. This book is not just about a night in Paris, but about a trip around Europe. The cities they visited all sounded absolutely gorgeous, I hugely enjoyed the sights Sandy Barker mentioned - some I have already seen myself, like the warthog in Florence, others that I needed to google to get an idea what they are talking about - like the Lion of Lucerne or the Marly Horses at the Louvre (I even googled Tim Tams, never heard of them before!). I also have never ever heard of Lauterbrunnen, but according to Cat it is the most beautiful spot on the whole trip!

But there isn't only sightseeing in this story, there is also lots of friendship and also love. I enjoyed the friendship part, although I found it a bit exaggerated. Saying "I love you" to your new (female) friends/"bus besties"? And I often wanted to have a good talking to Cat during the love part of the story. She was really getting on my nerves a couple of times there. And not only when she mentioned her 'lady parts' every fifth sentence (and first of all calling them that!). More often than not she created problems where there weren't any, starting with her reason for going on this trip in the first place.

All in all a nice chick-lit with wonderful ideas for your next city trip.

Cat has made a tremendous mistake, sleeping with one of her flatmates seemed like a great idea when drunk. Now in the cold light of day, not so much. So what does a normal person do in this situation? Book a European coach tour of course.

While on tour Cat serendipitously bumps into her teenage best friend Jean-Luc, who was a French exchange student when they first met. Upon seeing him, old flames reignite, but so do old doubts and insecurities.

I loved this book, not only am I a sucker for a Frenchman I loved living vicariously through Cat and her tour mates during their whirlwind trip around Europe.

That Night in Paris is such a cute read! I could totally see Sandy Barker's book being made into a rom-com movie one day :)

This was a really fun book to read! I enjoyed the characters that we met on the journey. Makes one wish you could just leave right now and take a holiday like this.
The writing and story were good, very little lapses on plot. I enjoyed all the places the book took a reader. It is a nice escape from the world around us.

A slow burning romance spread across some iconic settings in Western Europe, this book is full of wonderful descriptions. It really doesn't encourage me to join this kind of tour, though.

I say slow burning not because of the time frame (the tour takes place over 14 days), but because Cat and Jean-Luc don't get together until 3/4 of the way through, and although he is talked about, thought about, and makes the occasional appearance, he's very much not in the frame for most of it. Even when they do (no spoilers, thus is a rom com - they are supposed to get together) Cat isn't convinced as to the validity of her feelings which adds a nice bit of tension to the story.

Then there is the issue of the pair of them living in different countries...

I would recommend this book anytime, but should you find yourself feeling the need to “travel” during this pandemic, this is a great way to do it! I enjoyed it so much that I had to contact the author mid-read with the following:

“So I am about halfway through your book, That Night in Paris, right now and I just want to say that I appreciate the authenticity of the travel experiences. I love that not all of the food is great, that Cat doesn’t like tiramisu...and it makes for a better story when not everything is perfect (because when is it ever?)...I am really enjoying it and I love your characters (and I am Canadian so I love the presence of Canadians in it!)”

My feelings about the book stayed the same until the end and I am so glad I had the opportunity to read it! It was a great reminder to get out of this box of rules we have created for ourselves and live! Travel! Fall in love! Make new friends! Have fun!

Each character is so different and I love misfit casts like that! I also enjoy stories about groups of female friends and there will never be enough stories with those! Go enjoy this fun, reflective, honest book of travel and love! It’ll be worth it and you’ll wish you had read it sooner!!!

In this book we meet Cat who's headed off on an adventure tour after being told by her flatmate Alex he loves her while she doesn't reciprocate the feeling especially after losing Scott her cheating ex boyfriend.



However as she makes friends with Dani, Lou, Jae on her holiday trip and meets randomly in France, Jean Luc her old childhood friend, sparks fly and this trip suddenly takes a turn for the better.



But as Car realises her feelings she begins to doubt that if their childhood crush can last a lifetime despite the joy they feel now, can get new friends help her find her happiness?



What an adventure this book was I feel like I've been on this holiday with the girl's and witnesses it myself it was such an immersive easy read if you want a lovely romantic read this won't disappoint I especially liked how she gained a girl crew on the holiday too as I feel it added so much drama to the trip in the book!

As a staunch Francophile, I am always immediately tempted by books set at least partially in France, and this book really did not disappoint. Admittedly the time spent in France was limited but as a whistle-stop coach tour, that was what I expected.

The accommodation left a lot to be desired, and although I would never go on another coach trip in my life, the tourist side of the story appealed even though the travel did not. To be fair, I went on a coach trip when I was 19 to Italy, which left me with a broken nose (fell down a flight of stairs on the ferry on the way back, totally sober too!), and badly blistered shoulders (from swimming in an Italian lake), and I have to say it put me off coach trips for life. Having said all that, as an armchair reader stuck at home at the moment, I loved the travel, and found the descriptions so vivid that I could picture every beautiful location.

When Cat literally bumps into her old friend Jean-Luc in Paris it seemed like such a serendipitous moment. and wow, what a sexy Frenchman! Their romance was sheer perfection, and a joy to read. However, I do think this book was more about friendships and the guidance friends can give. Cat relied on her new travel friends to point her in the right direction, and I loved that each of her new friends brought a new and very different dimension to their friendship.

I was new to Sandy Barker’s books, having found her on Twitter first, but she really did not disappoint with this book which is book two in the series, but works perfectly as a standalone. I will definitely be seeking out book one, and waiting impatiently for book three!

I also really enjoyed the video chats Cat had with her sister who had previously been a guide on the coach tour. It really gave a useful insight into the highs and lows of coach tours, not that it changed my mind about them!

This was the second time i read a book by Sand Barker. I really enjoyed it once again! Sandy Barker knows how to make you travel. I really like her writing style and the romance in this book is lovely as well as the friendships stories. Lovely read!

A great little chicklit! The characters were easy to follow, and written in a way that they were fairly likeable. The plot was also decent; a little predictable at times but I find that the norm with books of this genre. I’d definitely recommend this one, and would read books by this author again!

Truly breathe of fresh air. I got this book because my sister married a French man and I was curious if this would give me all the feels that her love story gave me and ... it did! Such a great book.
