A cute well illustrated children's story about new friendship and overcoming poor first impressions. I enjoyed the bright colours and my son enjoyed the story.

This is such a cute picture book with not too much writing, perfect for young readers who are just gaining confidence to start reading on their own. The colourful illustrations of all the different dogs are just adorable and so full of character, and the message is also very positive.

Juliet and Ruby are best dog friends so when Wiley arrives new in Dogwood he hopes to make friends with the residents in Dogwood but will they all accept him?

A great little book to show children how to be compassionate and accepting of others as well as showing some great artwork of the dog characters too which will bring the story to life for the readers.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

A little hard to download but once I go it on it was a cute book. The illustrations were very colorful and any one who has young ones at home this is a perfect starter book.

An adorable story about friendship, this book features bright pictures that are vividly illustrated. My 8 year old thoroughly enjoyed it and when I asked him what he learned from it, his answer was, 'If you want friends, don't be afraid to ask for them.' Highly recommended for ages 3 to 8.

The format came through super oddly on my kindle, BUT this book was incredibly adorable. The illustrations are absolutely fantastic and I love the moral of the story. I would absolutely buy a print edition for friends with children.

A lovely book with lots of illustrations. Set in Dogwood. Mayor Ruby is called upon. There's a new dog in town. Wiley.
A book on accepting and not judging a book by its cover

I downloaded this on my Kindle app and had some issues with reading it, but from what I saw/read, this book has amazing illustrations of the dogs and the story is a cute one. The simple story shares with children that appearances can be deceiving, and that the dog that looked mean and tough, wasn’t.

Overall it was a cute story! Wish the download worked better though.

We loved this book so much! My daughter followed along with the story so easily and the illustrations were great! The dogs had such animated faces that we were both entertained! The story was fun and every child will love it!

What a cute little book is "Lucky Dogs" by Cody Clark. With great illustrations and a heart-warming story it is a nice read for and with kids. The illustrations are bright and page-filling and support the story at its best. The story is about never judge a book by ist cover. First we need to know people before we judge them only by their look. A great and important message to teach our kids right from the start. For a more open world where humans are accepted as they are.

I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book was sent as a kindle format and didnt come through very well on the format, i had to visually put the pages together and the text was all over the place, but from reading it as best I could due to this, I read a story that is about first impressions and how they can sometimes be wrongly conceived. I think the book would be lovely in print but just didnt come through properly via kindle format.

This is an adorable book with cute artwork. Unfortunately it is completely unreadable on
Kindle and I had to download it multiple times before it would open in a different app. But once I was able to view it I really enjoyed it. Fun book for kids. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

This picture book has the kernel of a good idea and charming illustrations. Unfortunately, it also has a lot of issues, mostly of the technical variety.

The dogs of Dogwood are hanging out at their favourite restaurant when a strange dog shows up and orders the spiciest thing on the menu. He looks intimidating, and the other dogs are wary of the stranger. But the mayor, Ruby, introduces herself and finds out why the new dog has come to town. Then the dogs greet their new friend and accept him into the pack, and they all have fun in the snow.

I can see that the author was trying to be punny, and there is the potential for a lot of good wordplay here. But it's kind of overshadowed by the technical issues with the writing. Commas aren't used very well, some sentences are kind of fragmented, and the adverb use is a little much. The new dog is also never properly introduced. One moment he's "the strange dog", and the next he's suddenly "Wiley". I'm also not clear on why one of the other dogs demanded Wiley leave after he ate the chowder; I actually thought I might have missed a page, because it didn't seem related to what had come immediately before.

The illustrations are the strongest part of the book. The dogs have great facial expressions, and there are plenty of different breeds represented.

Overall, I'm not that impressed. The story is too simple (and a little preachy) and the writing isn't that strong. The basic idea of the book is okay... but the execution is a bit lacking.

Great for kids as it gives a positive outcome to making new friends, besides being beautifully illustrated.

With great quality art and simple writing this book makes a great story for children to read or for parents to read it their children.

The kindle edition was a little out of whack so reading it wasn't very easy but I could tell that the book would look lovely in print.

I think that the story will interest a kid simply because it's portrayed by dogs, and who doesn't love a good dog story with beautiful art.
