I am a massive fan of Terry Brooks and the world of Shannara. They have been part and parcel of my reading life for well over twenty years.
This story is part of a trilogy but set within the wider world, whereas it is not essential to have read the rest, definitely recommend it so you can understand the lore and the appeal.
As always the world building is amazing, the plot, characters and writing just as good. The only thing that lets it down for me is it seems a bit repetitive in terms of what has gone before….
But being a loyal fan I will keep reading!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a disappointment after reading the original books in the series many years ago.
This really did feel like a re-hash of the original books with a lot of repetitive filling to bulk the story out.
I did struggle to finish this.

This series of books has spanned many years if not decades and I must be honest I thought the series had already ended …….. imagine my delight to find that there are four more books to the conclusion of Shannara
Reading the previous books are essential to understand not just the world building but also the characters and their interactions .
The Stiehl Assassin brings you back into a world where magic has taken the place of technology and features dwarves and druids, sword and sorcery and a multitude of characters .
The worldbuilding is superb , the characters complex and the storyline flows as precisely as all the previous books ……….. drawing the reader into this world , investing you in the individual characters stories and the outcomes of each personal journey .
This fantasy has been superb all along and I await the "final" ? book with impatience ………… whilst I am waiting I will start the series all over again and immerse in this world once more .
I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
