In many ways, this was a fun play on the fairytale of Beauty and the Beast. Chrissie is an independent, robust, and sassy bakery owner that finds herself on Gaston's radar after a bachelorette party. Gaston owns the bar where the bachelorette party is being held and takes notice of Chrissie when she exits the men's room. I enjoyed this meet-cute, and the two of them didn't instantly hook up. Chrissie played hard to get; Gaston pursues her relentlessly to the point that when things finally work out, it was so sweet and swoony. I didn't think the extra twist was needed, but it worked well enough that it didn't spoil the story. I hope there will be more books in this series of standalones.

If you're looking for a light-hearted romance that will leave you with a big smile, this is your book. Baiting Him, packed the same instant love boom that I love and expect. It was a fantastic book to read in between my darker reads. It deals with some real-life issues but doesn't bring along any heavy angst, which I enjoyed. Overall it's super cute and super sexy. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us with Hooking Him.

Aurora Rose Reynolds does it again. She is able to create characters and a story that makes you want to read it over and over again.

Gaston (probably the only part of the book I didn't care for) or Gus was just living his life day to day until he saw Chrissie. There were instant sparks and that blossoms into a forever relationship.

The story is a quick read. I read it in one day which makes it perfect for a vacation or a day in. I really enjoyed the characters and I like the fun and carefree series that Reynolds is writing about.

I swear @aurorarosereynolds just wrote the sweetest and romantic book boyfriend ever!

Gaston is a gentleman and he and Chrissie are the cutest couple ever. The chemistry they have together is a once in a life time thing.

With the way she write her characters, she is fast becoming a favourite author of mine. I have no problem reading if all her characters steal your breath and leave you wanting so much more.

Loved, loved, loved!! Baiting Him was a fantastic following up in the How to Catch an Alpha series. Aurora Rose Reynolds has a knack for making me swoon. It’s so easy to fall in love with her heroes. They’re so strong, yet gentle and so dang sweet and caring. I can’t help but give the bf a serious side eye because he’s not even close. Ugh! Book boyfriends are so freaking perfect. Why can’t I have one in real life??

Gaston *le sigh*. Not only is his name from my FAVORITE Disney story but the guy was everything. His and Chrissie’s story was an insta-love of epic proportions. The guy knew she was the one from the moment he laid eyes on her and every bit of her quirky, awkwardness made him fall in love with her even more.

Chrissie represented most women out there. Content with life until a sexy guy shows up demanding to know why you haven’t called and wondering what universe you stepped into because he’s too hot to be interested. I know I’d be a bit shocked if I were in her shoes. But their chemistry was perfect. Instantly they were at ease with each other. The comfortable silences, the heat between the sheets and his ability to read her so easily. They were a perfect match.

This book was a total swoon-fest!!!

Baiting Him is a sweet, sometimes cheesy, love story between a baker and a club owner! Chrissie is living her dream: she owns her own bakery and its thriving. She has a beautiful condo and wonderful friends. She hasn't had much luck in dating, and since her parents' divorce, she has been hearing a lot about how horrible men are from her jilted mother. She has a chance meeting with Gaston (who has a dog named Lefou) and things escalate quickly. Gaston is immediately enamored and begins chasing Chrissie hard.

These two are super cute and their romance is kind of at warp speed. If you aren't a fan of the insta-love, you should probably skip Baiting Him. The story is pretty saccharine so be prepared for a toothache! There were times that the lines got cheesy, but overall, I didn't think it was overkill. Chrissie's relationship with her mom is interesting. Chrissie thought her parents had a great marriage and she was shocked when her dad announced he was leaving the family for his mistress. Chrissie's mom has NOT handled it well and you see a bit of Chrissie being the parent to her heartbroken mother.

If insta-love stories are you catnip, Baiting Him has everything you want! Overall its a quick read that gets right to the point-sappy, happy love! At just over 200 pages, you can probably finish this in one sitting. If your recent reads have been dark or heavy, Baiting Him is a perfect palate cleanser because it's light and sexy.

I really liked this book and its characters, it was really engaging and I read the story in one sitting

I am really struggling on how to review this book. I feel like just the fact Aurora Rose Reynolds wrote it should be enough said. But I guess I mean Aurora is one of my top auto buy authors and I love her writing. I love going in knowing the type of hero I'm going to get. And knowing I am going to be happy with the outcome.

Chrissie was sweet and loving and I was a big fan of hers from the start. She knew who she was and what she wanted and I liked that when she first met Gaston she didn't fall all over herself to get his attention.

Gaston was everything I love about the author. He is sexy but not a manwhore, driven but doesn't put his work before his friends and family. But mostly he knows who he wants and goes all out to win her over and convince her she's it for him.

Together they were so cute and the chemistry was scorching hot. Their relationship developed quickly but it still felt natural and I was right there the whole time with them. There was really minimal drama and the whole book was just one big warm fuzzy.

A great read for a lazy afternoon

Whew. What a read. I read Catching Him, book one in the How to Catch an Alpha series, last year and while I love Aurora Rose Reynolds, that was not my favorite by her. Baiting Him, however, was great. This was your typical insta-love, alpha-male romance, and I was here for it. Gaston, a.k.a Gus, is a successful bar owner and Chrissie owns a bakery, The Sweet Spot. Chrissie and Gus meet one night when Chrissie attends her friend’s, Leah from Catching Him, bachelorette party at one of Gus’s bars. She is waiting in line and decides to skip the women’s restroom and uses the men’s instead. There, she meets Gus. Sigh. He was such a gentleman and I couldn’t stop reading. Yes, I love a good bad boy romance but sometimes I need a nice guy to read about and become my next book boyfriend. And that was Gus. He was sweet, charming, chivalrous… insert another dreamy-guy quality here. And Chrissie was amazing, too. She was smart, independent, and the perfect match for Gus. But while I loved Chrissie, she was very self-conscious and would continuously make self-loathing comments that drove me insane. The following are a few of the comments she made that drove me crazy:

- “I take a seat and wait for one of the three bartenders to notice me. This— I know from experience— will take a while, because unlike most of the extraordinarily beautiful men and women here, I’m not special in any way."

- “My face is cute in a chubby cherub kind of way, and I’m plump.”

- “Tons of guys don’t want me. Heck, not even one guy wants me.” … she says after she receives a bouquet of flowers from a guy

See what I mean? Thankfully, she doesn’t make comments like this often but it’s still annoying when she does. Besides that, I loved this book. I loved how dedicated and hardworking both Chrissie and Gus were and how they both made seeing each other their top priority, after years of being devoted to their work first. This book gave me all the feels and was definitely an improvement from book one.

Overall, great read and everyone must read it! Chrissie and Gus’s love story is not one to miss!

As always, Happy Reading!

~ Grace

I had trouble getting into this story. I liked some some parts of the story. I liked the hero, Gaston, but . I wasn't as fond of Chrissie. She was a little too weak for my taste. I don't mind a quiet, shy heroine, but the whole premise of "How to Catch an Alpha" seemed a little degrading.
This is dual 1st person POV. Alternation between Gaston & Chrissie.
Chrissie does own her own business, so she does have a couple of strong points.
The chemistry did get more convincing as the story went on. The ending wrapped up very neatly.
I've read a few Aurora Reynolds books and I hope that I will have better luck in the future.
3 .25 to 3..5 stars

Baiting him is the second book in the How to catch an alpha series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. The novel can be read as stand-alone, but personally I would recommend reading the series in order because I liked both books very much. The only connection the two novels have is that Leah and Tyler from the first book appear in this one and Chrissie appears in theirs. She is Leah's best friend after all.

Those who have read Catching him might recall the epilogues. The events of this book take place after the main story and before the epilogues. The epilogue of this book takes us even further into the future and I love epilogues like that.

Chrissie and Gaston met at the night club he owns (in a weird way) and after that, he was smitten. After some pursuing, our heroine decides to give in and their journey begins. Gaston is an alpha male and some times his behavior can be over the top, but for most of the time, he is behaving himself. Thankfully, early in the story, I stopped singing in my head Gaston's song from beauty and the beast and I was able to think of him as the hero of the novel. His (in my head) cute doggie helped with that.

There is some suspense in the novel, but it's not much. The story is mainly focused on our two characters as a couple who are trying to navigate their lives. Their romance was good and I enjoyed the book as much as I usually enjoy a novel from Aurora Rose Reynolds. I would recommend it.

I loved this book! Chrissie and Gaston are just perfect for each other. A cute busy baker who doesn’t have time on her hands meets this hot club owning workaholic and the two of them have this instant attraction. There’s a few things they have to go through but it makes it all worth it with a guaranteed HEA and the biggest smile on your face when it’s over. Highly recommend another 5 star read from the amazingly talented Aurora Rose Reynolds!

This was my first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I absolutely loved it!

Chrissie is out with her friends when she unexpectedly runs into the gorgeous Gaston. The two talk and tease, but Chrissie isn't ready for anything serious. She has her bakery and she's dealing with some family issues, so she's happy where she is and doesn't need a man. Gaston has other plans. He can't seem to get Chrissie off his mind and after spending her flowers but not hearing back from her, he decides to go after her is the only way to go.

The two find out they live in the same building and before long the two are inseparable. As the two start to navigate their relationship, Gaston starts to have issues at his clubs while Chrissie is having problems with her own family.

A touch of instalove thrown in while a little mystery made this book a fun, light and sexy read. I most definitely will be going back and reading the first book in the series (which this book can be read as a standalone) and will most certainly be adding more of Ms. Reynolds to my TBR list

Another great read from Aurora Reynolds. She really has a way with words flowing through the pages in order to grab her readers and hold them tight to all her stories and this one is no different.

This story has you melting over each page.. Gaston is so swoon worthy with all of his sweet loving gestures. You are a cheerleader on the side for Chrissie to take the leap.

This is a must read and a move to the number one spot in your tbr list! <3

5 cupcake stars!

Baiting Him is book 2 in the How to Catch an Alpha Series, it can certainly be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure after reading this entertaining enjoyable insta-love story you will want to read the first book Catching Him. This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned, I smiled and I loved the characters.
We met Cassie in book 1 she is the owner of of The Sweet Spot bakery, the bakery keeps her busy and she has no time for dates or relationships but that’s about to change because she can’t get Gaston the extremely hot club owner out of her mind and the fact he is persistent in wooing her has her thinking maybe it’s time to give love one more chance.....
Gaston is a man who used to getting what he wants and even though he struggles to understand why Cassie is fighting his advances he still treats her with respect but respect doesn’t mean he will give up on making her see how good they would be together......
If you want a fun entertaining read with characters you will love then this is a must read. I’m loving everything about this series and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I love Aurora Rose Renolds writing, I however am sad to say I did not love this book. The writing like always was on par. I love how she writes. I felt nothing for the Hero Gaston, or the heroine Chrissie. Nothing really happened. For the first time ever I couldn't wait for it to over.
The secondary characters intrested me more the main couple. I hate giving this a bad review because I know writers put their heart into their books, but I need to give a honest review.

Thank's Netgally for the chance to review this book for a honest review,

I love everything Aurora Rose Reynolds writes and was excited to read her newest book Baiting Him. What I love about her books, which have a Kristen Ashley feel to them, are her protective alpha males. This is another wonderful story that is emotional, sexy and fun with a charming hero that I fell in love with, right along with the story.

When Chrissie meets Gaston she has a hard time believing she can trust him. Gaston is different from every guy Chrissie has dated and he seems too good to be true. He is annoyingly protective, caring, thoughtful and charming.

Gaston and Chrissie are immediately attracted to each other and make a great couple. I enjoyed all the interactions between these two characters as they meet, fall in love and have a relationship. Chrissie owns a bakery and she is sweet and hardworking. Gaston owns a couple nightclubs and when he meets Chrissie, he knows she is the one for him. Gaston is handsome and can have any woman he wants, but he only wants Chrissie. I enjoyed this delightful, seductive story.

The queen of alpha hero's has done it again. Once again, Aurora Rose Reynolds has written a love story that puts Disney the shame. Chrissie and Gaston's story had me captivated instantly. And like all other ARR novels, I couldn't force myself to put it down until I had read every single word. Being tired was well worth it, because Baiting Him was so freaking good. I have a feeling this How to Catch an Alpha series is going to rival my full out obsession with the Until series. Which, mind you, I swore was not possible.

Story Line: Chrissie is a bakery owner. She has a work ethic I am in total awe of. Well, that's mainly because I would rather read than work at all, but seriously. Chrissie loves her bakery and devotes every spare moment she has to it. And Gaston is just as work driven. He's the owner of several bars/restaurants which keeps him out late hours. Their story is one full of love, possibilities and growth. The character development was absolutely fantastic. Chrissie learned to let go and delegate, all the while maintaining her strong career focus. And literally the same can go for Gaston. It was amazing to read how these two were able to transition their hectic work lives to accommodate one another, yet still remain true to themselves and their companies. That's not something you see a lot. Usually it's just one of the characters making changes, but this was a pleasant surprise. If you're looking for a story that curls your toes, inflates your heart and makes you want to be the best version of yourself, then look no further. Baiting Him is exactly what you're looking for.

Interaction: In true ARR fashion, Gaston sees what he wants and goes after it. But Chrissie doesn't just submit to his every whim and desire. She proves over and over again that she is a strong woman who doesn't need a man in her life. However, she also shows us that she's not indestructible. That gorgeous suit of armor she wears can crack, and Gaston proves over and over again that he is just the man for the repair and prevention job. Their love for one another is crystal clear. Their attraction, devotion and dedication seeped deep into my pores and will radiate from me for years to come.

Laundry: So, I'm sure you've gathered so far that this story is uber sweet. Almost as sweet as Chrissie's delicious treats. Well, don't assume that just because this is sweet love story, that there isn't some naughty laundry in it. Because come on now. ARR can write some HEAT and Baiting Him does NOT disappoint. Their is magical fire that burns between Chrissie and Gaston. Every time these two come together, I swear my entire body hummed with excitement. I love these two characters so freaking much.

Depth: Yes, this is a fantastic love story. But it also takes on some tough family matters too. Chrissie's family isn't something you brag to you friends about. She doesn't have the previous home life of the girl next door. Her road to where she is now isn't paved. It's dirty, rocky and at times pretty dark. But what we are shown is that our past does not define us. Just because our parents didn't have the epic love story we read about it romance novels, doesn't mean when can't have that type of HEA for ourselves. The bottom line is this - Baiting Him is a story about allowing ourselves to let love in. Allowing ourselves to grow and change with what it thrown at us. And that it's okay to take time away from our busy lives to spend with those who are most important to us. Thank you, ARR, for the reminder to put loved ones first. Always.

We were always warned that we might catch something in public bathrooms, for Chrissie she catches something special when she's caught in the men's bathroom at a club during her best friend's bachelorette party. Gaston, well the name is different but the man is unforgettable. Finally a man that is perfect in her eyes and easy on them too. Great, sexy read that will make you never look at the non existent line in front of the men's room again in the same way.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest review.
