What a great story. We met Christie in book one, and she was a secondary character you couldn’t help but love. So when I saw book 2 was her story I couldn’t wait.

This is a feel good story from start to finish. While Gus is most definitely an alpha male, his sensitive side is one I think readers will connect with. chrissie and her sass keeps the dynamic between the two Sizzling.
I think one of my favorite things about this series is that there isn’t this big flaw in the main characters relationship, the book just shows you the progression of their relationship. Aurora really makes her character feel like the are real people that anyone would be friends with

A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, but reads great as a stand alone. I found the characters to be very likeable. Fun book, a hint of mystery. A little family drama-the normal relationship. Found this to be very enjoyable and a quick read. 4 stars. I think most romance readers would enjoy.

Aurora Rose Reynolds has this ability to make you want that insta-love and her writing makes you believe that there is another half to your soul. This story has her trademark Alpha-goodness while wanting you want to be the lead heroine, or want to be the heroine's best friend. This story makes you hold your breath and wonder which way this story will go and leave you breathless in anticipation and the ending is just perfect!

*plotting all the ways to make ARR my BFF so I can have all her words while she’s writing them because I need more*

When I open an Aurora Rose Reynolds book, I know I’m going to love it. It’s inevitable.

Baiting Him is book two of the How yo Catch an Alpha series. It has that typical ARR alpha but with a twist... he was a cuddly teddy bear with a contagious and free laugh. AND I LOVED HIM.

When I first started this book, there were so many lines that I just thought “ME. OMG, ME!” Chrissie was so relatable and goofy and I felt like I was reading about my best friend.

Baiting Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds is book Two in the How to Catch an Alpha Series. This is the story of Gaston and Chrissie. I have read the previous book which added to my enjoyment of this book but I did think this was a standalone book. Chrissie has a new bakery in town trying to start fresh but of course things start happening from her past. Gaston owns bars in the area and his eye is caught on Chrissie. This was a page turner read for me. I didn't put it down until I was done. This was a relatively easy read. I hope to read more from this author and series soon!

If you loved the first book in this series you will simply love this one. AAR has done what she does best and given us a sweet, easy romance.

Chrissie meets Gaston at a nightclub during her best-friends bachelorette party. Its a serious Meet-Cute <3

With minimal angst this is an easy to read, sweet, feel-good romance. Gaston and his cute dog LeFou really steal your heart. Gaston knows what he wants and will go after it and make sure he gets it. Chrissie never really stood a chance.

I am loving this series and looking forward to the next one in this series Hooking Him

Title: Baiting Him
Series: How to Catch An Alpha Book #2
Stand alone: yes
Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds
Genre: Romance
Blurb: Chrissie doesn’t have time for guys, hot or otherwise; most days, she barely has time to sleep. With a thriving bakery that demands her attention and plenty of proof that relationships aren’t worth the trouble, she’s content to go it alone. Too bad she’s unwittingly baited Mr. Tall, Dark, and Way Too Gorgeous—and he’s just waiting for a chance to bite.

Gaston is used to getting what he wants, but he also knows nothing good ever comes easy. From the moment he meets Chrissie, he realizes that this woman who makes him laugh, smells like cupcakes, and looks like a tasty snack is going to be his greatest challenge. And if he’s lucky, she’ll be his biggest reward.

But someone else wants to catch Gaston at all costs—even if it means endangering the lives of the people he loves. Somehow Gaston must thwart danger and convince Chrissie that he’s the perfect catch.

Favorite Quote(s)/Excerpt(s): "I sell cakes and cookies and stuff, not sex toys. So you can get that look off your face."

Thoughts: Baiting Him was just an endearing read....Aurora Rose Reynolds has a way of writing that is just charming. The characters are realistic with little quirks of their personalities that just bring them to life for the reader. Storylines are also realistic, making feel like I'm reading about actual people. I just really love the clarity that's brought forth with each book. There are some one liners too that just make you laugh. Frankly, with this author you always get an enjoyable read.

This is a great book, with an awesome first meeting, a ton of romance with a swoony hero, and an adorable little dog! Loved it!

Super cute fun read! I really enjoyed it! I love Aurora so much and this book did not disappoint! The time line was a little confusing but overall quick fun read!

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first book in the series. In this second book, Leah's best friend Chrissie finds her true love. She meets Gaston ( whose dog is named LeFou, so CUTE) who owns several bars in the area. Chrissie owns a bakery called Sweet Spot. They meet and fall in love. Pretty simple stuff and not much happens in terms of the plot, but it is a really adorable story and very enjoyable. Gaston is a gentleman and he and Chrissie are adorable together.

Baiting Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds is book two in her How to Catch an Alpha Series, published by Montlake. Every book can be read as a stand alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is Catching Him, Tyler and Leah's story. The following book is Hooking Him.
But back to Baiting Him. Chrissie, best friend of Leah and her maid of honor organizes the bachelorette party, of course and what else. What she didn't plan is that she meets her soulmate.
Gaston - Gus - is the barowner and when he runs in the bakeryowner he knows immediatedly she's it for him. He falls in instalove, swoon. But Chrissie didn't have much luck in previous relationships and she's skittish to say it nicely. She has a bit of baggage, but Gason knows what he wants and that is Chrissie. He's fiercely protective of her and that I loved most of all in this sweet story.
Baiting Him is a sweet roomance, excellent written and beautifully thought out and beautifully told. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Chrissie is at Leah’s bachelorette party, when she decides she doesn’t want to wait in the girls bathroom line...we’ve all been there haven’t we😉. She goes to the men’s bathroom, and that’s where she meets the bar owner, Gaston. Yes, that is his name and he is complete with his own LeFou dog….absolutely loved that. Yeah, she actually meets the love of her life when she goes to the men’s bathroom to avoid the lines…oh, and then she tells other women what she did to avoid the lines....his reaction was so funny. That whole scene. He takes it well and is instantly attracted to her. He is so smitten with her, he sends her flowers to her bakery after their meeting. She doesn’t respond, so he comes in to see her. That is one thing I loved about him, he just is who he is, all confidence without being arrogant, heady combination....oh, and he cooks too...did I mention that...trifecta. Ok, this whole scene was hilarious because when he comes in, she has two high school employees that are gaga over him and they are incapable of saying anything when he’s there…it’s hilarious. Here’s one of the teenagers quotes when she sees him outside, “Please tell me he’s not to old for me.”...😂. And they always say things like that, but once he’s in the bakery...it’s all running into each other and funny stuff like that. He actually has this effect on most of the women he comes into contact with, not that he notices, all except her of course, and it’s funny every single time.

This was a safe read. She tries to push him away, but that last about a hot second. I really liked Gaston, he was very alpha, but had such a sweet side with her. Oh, and he cooks...did I mention that he cooks...yup, I think I did, so I fell a little in love too😉. Add in that she’s a baker, I’m thinking dream team relationship goals. Hot….that’s what these two are. #CounterShenanigans #AllOverTheHouseShenanigans. A little suspense and great storyline. We also get to see Leah and Tyler from book 1, Catching Him. Baby batter, a sweet epilogue and an hea. More please….always want more Aurora Rose Reynolds.

This book unabashedly embraces what it is - a super low angst, feel good, easy read with pure instalove. There’s nothing earth-shattering about the storyline, but it definitely hits the spot and is sure to leave you smiling. While I thought the chemistry was stronger in Catching Him, I genuinely liked both of these characters and was rooting for their HEA.

The story follows Chrissie, a baker whose love life has been put on the backburner. She’s perfectly content with her life, but it isn’t until club owner Gaston shakes things up that she realizes what she’s been missing. He’s her ideal man - loving and kind but oh so alpha, and Chrissie is just waiting for the catch. She’s not willing to take a chance on a guy who’s just in it for the chase, but Gaston’s not about to take no for an answer.

What makes this feel like pure escapism is Gaston - he’s almost too good to be true, and isn’t at all resistant to settling into a relationship immediately. He’s pretty darn swoonworthy, and thinks of Chrissie as his from the beginning. I was kind of shocked by just how quickly things progress between them. If you like an instalove romance, it’s certainly well done here and the exceedingly low angst tone of the book makes it a light and easy read. It’s not the kind of book that I’m going to read again and again, but it’s a sweet and heartwarming story with some sexiness. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Title: Baiting Him by - Aurora Rose-Reynolds
Standalone
Genre:
My Rating: 4.5 🌟

Loved it! Aurora Rose-Reynolds has done it again, hitting it out of the park with this witty, sensual, super cute story.

We meet Chrissie and Gaston who're pure perfection. They were so likable and sweet (not overly sweet) it was hard for me not to
get all the feels. I laughed...a lot. Cried. And got highly frustrated with some of their choices. They were REAL; their banter, emotions, actions. All real. Loved that this wasn't an insta-love sitcho but one with lots of chemistry and plenty steam. All-in-all...a fantastic read! I highly recommend! You
won't be disappointed!

*I recieved this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review *

Chrissie doesn’t have time for guys, hot or otherwise; most days, she barely has time to sleep, doing what she loves her focus has been on her successful bakery. Out on her best-friends hen do she meets the owner of the club Gaston (Gus) - tall, dark and handsome he has no plans to only have a memory of one fleeting interaction with Chrissie. Whilst she's uncertain he is determined Chrissie will be his.

I do have to say the danger strand of the plot felt unfinished, and didn't feel truly integrated into the overarching story as I would have liked.

Overall an entertaining short read, I would read again, only if accessible via KU.

Baiting Him is book #2 in the How to Catch an Alpha series. Aurora Rose Reynolds (ARR) brings us a fresh, fun and sexy story filled with alpha males, strong independent females and lots of romance! Tyler and Leah stole my heart in Catching Him, but look out! Because Gaston – yes, I said Gaston- and Chrissie have taken over!
Chrissie was introduced in Catching Him as Leah’s best friend. She is sweet, quirky, and caring. She owns “The Sweet Spot” bakery. Chrissie meets night club owner Gaston (Gus) at Leah’s bachelorette party. What ensues is sweet, fun, sexy and romantic! Filled with insta-lust and insta-love! Baiting Him is ARR at her finest!

“Did you just say your name is Gaston?”
“Yeah”
“Oh my God,” I whisper, horrified. “You’re like the worst villain ever.”

Gaston is the perfect alpha! Charming, considerate and smoking hot! His tenderness and love for Chrissie is swoony and romantic! Of course, there is a bit of drama, but nothing over the top. The story flows and filled my heart with warmth. A great pick me up when you want to sit and get lost in a book!

“No one looks like Gaston. No one cooks like Gaston. No one refuses to read a book like Gaston,” I sing.”

Chrissie and Gaston meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after in this super boring romance.

I’ve been on a contemporary romance kick lately. This book’s premise caught my eye – who can resist a sexy alpha falling in love with a sweetheart baker? But while the characters and synopsis sound amazing, the story left a lot to be desired. Namely, plot. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens beyond the two main characters falling in love. Perhaps the lack of a plot would have been acceptable if the characters had been more interesting. Sadly, Chrissie and Gaston fail to keep this story from turning into something seriously bland and uninteresting.

I might have chalked this story up to a “it’s me, not you” rating if not for the tears. Not mine, but the main character. Chrissie cries A LOT. Sometimes her tears seemed warranted, but most of the time not. I don’t mind emotional characters, and certainly not tears of happiness. But, my god, EVERYTHING can’t make you cry. And I certainly, as a reader, shouldn’t be laughing out loud every time I see “tears” or “cries” on the page. A little more time creating memorable characters, some sort of plot, or removing all of the crying would have made this a way more enjoyable read.

tl;dr No plot, boring characters, and the main character’s weird propensity to cry all the time had me gladly hate finishing this book.

I loved this one. Aurora Rose Reynolds is a one click author for me. She’s a guaranteed HEA Story with the right recipe of sweet and heat. Gaston and Chrissie’s story is just the fun read I needed. With witty dialogue, great chemistry and a dash of angst I Wass very happy reader.
Definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this book and I'm relieved because I wasn't a fan of the first in this series. This one is less formulaic from most of ARR's books. There's still the there and gone dangerous situation that randomly pops up in the last 10-20%. This one felt different as the development of the H/h's relationship was natural. The pacing, development and chemistry was perfect. Overall the story was very entertaining and I highly recommend it. Although the characters from the first book make a few appearances, it can easily be read as a standalone.
