this is another it’s not you it’s me, i think that this book was simply not for me. and it was definitely not the target audience for this book. i really couldn’t connect with the main character and honestly i didn’t really want to while i did feel for her and the struggles she faced i couldn’t really get myself to care. she was honestly really bland to me and while it’s labeled to be funny i didn’t really find it amusing. thank you netgalley but this was definitely a miss for me.

I honestly can’t tell you how many moments I literally laughed out loud with this! So much fun! It took a while to get into but when it just clicked for me I didn’t want to put it down!

Was expecting a funny, light read, but this one fell flat mostly because the tone felt dull and not witty to me. Plus the whole double-entendre deal got tiring - once in the prologue was already a bit far=fetched, but then it happened again when the heroine thought she'd been 'outed' as an erotica writer to her kids. It got tiring and a bit hard to read because the laughter just wasn't there for it - it felt forced is how I'd describe it.

I loved the concept of this and enjoyed the story just as much. It was a funny, enjoyable read that is definitely worth the reader's time.

This was a fun read with witty writing and an enjoyable story-line. Whilst the beginning is quite slow-paced, once it really kicks in, this causes for a speedy read!

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
An interesting premise and some witty parts. The writing is good and the characters are relatable.
However, the MC loves to complain which got a bit dull after a while. It was also quite predictable.
On the whole an OK book.

Super cute fast read. Definitely one for the beach or the pool. Fun book club read too! I loved. the character development and an author to watch.

The beginning was so slow, I unfortunately couldn't get through this one, as much as I enjoyed the premise!

This was an ok story. I thought it was going to be a bit more funny than I found it. I had a hard time really getting into this. Then again, I don’t usually read books about folks that are already married for this very reason. It just wasn’t really for me.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read a free advance copy of this book. Unfortunately I hadn't found time during the year to read this book, and so I will be picking up a paid copy in 2021 to support the author instead as an apology.

This was a light and easy read, perfect as a simple escape from the craziness of motherhood and every day life. Not life changing literature, but perfect for a rainy day when you need a little humor!

I thought this book was okay, but I didn’t love it. It was the typical middle age trope finding the meaning of life. I think it would’ve been better if Kate didn’t end up having the perfect life. It wasn’t very realistic. I think this would be a good book for moms with older kids. I would recommend it!

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'm not going to give this one a rating. DNF @ 30%
It just wasn't for me. I'm a lot younger than the protagonist in this one and I just couldn't connect to any of her problems. It took me a while to try and get into the book, and so I put it down for a while to maybe go back to it later, and it's been weeks and I haven't even tried to go back so this was a DNF.
I thought it would be a fun and funny story about a romance author, and the beginning was really slow to get to this plotline. There were other plotlines with her family that seemed more important, and I just couldn't connect to the main character.

I was expecting more from this. It was fine, but a little more motherhood-centric than I thought it would be. I didn't really connect with the protagonist so it wasn't as much fun as it might be for people who do connect with her.

Hilarious story. I really liked the way the main character was introduced to the reader. The setting is very suiting for the plot and makes it al more interesting. Overall it was mostly the writing style which I didn't like that much. A thing about taste, but it made reading a bit harder.

Unfortunately this book didn’t hit the spot for me. It was a bit cliched and samey feeling. I didn’t really laugh, which was disappointing. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an egalley.

A quick and easy lighthearted read with some humor, though a rather predictable but still enjoyable.

Hilarious!! A nice light read when I needed a laugh. Not one I would re-read, but it's one I think I would share with friends. Not one I would put out in my local library circulation, but only because they are a bit conservative!

I wanted to love this book so much, I really did. The trope has been over done but as a middle aged mom I still read them because sometimes you connect. Here I expected more of the erotic novel writing aspect and less of the mama drama of dealing with kids. For me the happily ever after was over done. Life’s messy and it’s ok to let it be messy. I also hated the shame aspect of writing erotica/romance....I feel like if you’ve found success and happiness be proud of what you do! So this just wasn’t the book for me.
Thank you NetGalley and One More Chapter for my advance digital copy to review.

2.5 stars
Same old mother of three kids, in her middle age, a teacher and an erotic novels author, that struggles to find a balance between all the assignments and daily routine in her life. I was expecting it to be more on the fun and light read but it actually doesn’t bring anything new for me and while some readers will enjoy it, it’s not a favourite for me.
