This is the third novel in the series and I hadn't read the first two before reading this one. However, it was very engaging, original, sweet and a page turner. A definite recommend.

You have to root for Agnes Sinclair. Poor girl trying to escape the Scottish Highlands only to caught there for the foreseeable future. Invert art is hell on earth for Agnes with characters both creepy and quirky. Managing a hotel that is in the grips of thefts which results in the appearance of a heart stopping, single dad to help her solve the thefts and reevaluate her life in Invertary.

This was not a awsome serie by a long shot. I ended up being bored.

I am so happy to get Agnes's book! And it was set in Invertary! I loved getting back to that kooky town and seeing glimpses of favorite characters. My expectations were pretty high, but this book exceeded them. I laughed, I choked up, and I gasped in surprise. I think I highlighted half of the book because I kept finding little gems I wanted to remember. I feel like the author wove all of my favorite people, plots, and places together into a terrific new story. Agnes and Logan are so funny. The tension between them really comes through in their superb banter. I loved every bit, especially the unexpected ending.

A nice, light read.... nothing too heavy, as expected, but struggled a bit to complete. I appreciate the opportunity to review it!

How cute is this book! I’ve read others by Ms. Henderson and enjoyed them, this book is no exception. Hunky men + Scotland is always a winner in my book. I didn’t love that Logan had kids (for some reason this is usually just a turn off for me in a book), but it was a key part of the story. Agnes was relatable and I liked her backstory and how it made her who she is. Good read!

I loved this book. First by this author I’ve read and she kept me laughing and engaged with her characters. After reading I purchased every book by this author 😊

Seriously!!! how did I not know of this series until it popped up on Netgalley?! Yes my head was turned by a pretty cover, and yes the description was pretty darn good! I mean hello….. it has Chick Lit all over it!

You’d be mistaken if you thought this book was about a Knitting Group though they make an appearance and have some of the most hilarious one lines I ever seen … see what I mean! hilarious

“But, I’m not a member of Knit or Die,” Agnes protested.

“You don’t choose knitting,” his mum said solemnly. “It chooses you.”

I really wish I’d read the previous books in the series, not because I need a back story or to really understand the characters. You can read this as a standalone book but I really wanted to get to know the Sinclair Sisters better and understand their sisterhood.

Can’t Buy Me Love is Agnes and Logan’s story. Yeah their budding romance does seem to happen rather rapidly BUT Janet Elizabeth Henderson manages to set the perfect pace for the romance to blossom.

Logan *sigh* is gorgeous, witty and so bloody awesome! He’s also been burned in the past but he has a different view on how to move forward. That you have to let people in and see what choices they make even if they may end up hurting you in the end. Its better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved or something like that lols.

Agnes is what I envision a typical snarky Scot to be like (apologies to the Scottish Lass’ reading this) but I adore it! She’s been burned in the past and wants to get out of Scotland to warmer climates or more to the point she wants to escape the pain that she’s had while in Scotland. Until Logan comes crashing into her life showing her all that is good and glorious of Scotland and its people. That giving him a go (so to speak! *tongue in cheek*) he’ll be able to show her how he sees the beautiful place of Inventary.

It’s hilarious, heart warming and a snarkfest! Just a perfect read! It’s filled to the brim with quirky, fun loving and intriguing characters.

It turned out hell was a small town in the Scottish Highlands. Oh, sure, the locals called it Invertary, but Agnes Sinclair knew better—the town even had an old woman everyone called Satan. If that wasn’t a sign she was in hell, she didn’t know what was. All Agnes had ever wanted was to get out of Scotland, and now she was stuck there with no escape. And all because of one teeny, tiny incident (he totally deserved it!) that got her blacklisted in the hotel industry. Now, her only career option is managing a hotel owned by a guy who looks like Disco Santa, in a town where everyone marched to their own damn beat. And, as if being trapped in hell wasn’t bad enough, a spate of thefts at the hotel makes the owner call in a member of Benson Security to help her get to the bottom of them. Agnes doesn’t need help. She especially doesn’t need it from a sexy single father whose every breath tempts her to reevaluate what she wants out of life. A man who makes her wonder if Invertary is where she truly belongs.
This was such an unexpected cute read, that once I started reading it, I really didn’t stop until I was finished. I really liked Agnes right from the beginning and was happy when she got her HEA in the end. I highly recommend.

Enjoyable story

A light hearted country romance that has you smiling while you read. An easy great holiday read. I love the dynamics of the two main characters Agnus & Logan, and further loved the witty and playful people in Logan’s whole family.
I did think there could be a little more depth to the book and a bit more background to the main characters. And I thought the ending was quite quick.
But well written and I enjoyed reading it.

An enjoyable funny romance. It did have a bit of an insta love on the part of Logan. The characters were unique and likeable. Did I mention how funny the book is. A great book for when your in the mood for something funny and lighthearted. Overall a very good story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Janet Elizabeth Henderson’s Invertary, Scotland bookverse is a wonderful place! This book brings together multiple series and lets us revisit the town, the people, and the culture once again. This book was filled with laugh out loud moments, self-sacrifice, family love & loyalty, and romance. I appreciate the fact that the book is pulling characters from series, and stays true to them all. It also gives us the continued depth of character that we expect – it’s not just a love story racing toward a HEA with the hero and heroine. Their family, friends, coworkers and townsfolk are all involved and interwoven to help tell the tale.

Our heroine Anges has always been strong; the caregiver for her sisters. Their lives have not been easy, but Anges held them together, sometimes through sheer force of will. She’s a hard worker and an introverted Type A personality, working in the hospitality industry in a tiny town after being forced out of her previous position through no fault of her own. She’s excellent at her job, though she does not particularly enjoy it. Things take a wrong turn at her hotel when items begin to go missing. The persnickety hotel owner brings in a security expert to assist her in getting to the bottom of things.

Enter our hero, a single-dad Benson Security operative named Logan. He’s everything that reminds Anges of her troubled past and the difficult path she walked while raising her sisters. She doesn’t want to want him, but their chemistry is undeniable and she soon finds herself rethinking the goals she had set for herself.

This was a fun & lighthearted read that went by in a flash. I was impressed with the way the author joined together various parts of her book worlds, staying true to the characters but also making it possible for someone picking this up as a “first book by a new to me author” to jump right in and not be left feeling lost.

This was a the perfect lighthearted wintry/holiday read, tying together several series by the author while at the same time managing to be accessible to a someone who has never read any of the previous books (but you’ll want to after you read it). I haven’t read very many winter themed books this year, but I’m really glad I made time for this one. Where it’s usually the hero who gets to be the grumpy one, in this book, it was Agnes, the heroine who got to have all the attitude and I loved it. Agnes was a strong personality, a bit gruff, a bit antisocial, and not particularly warm initially, but our intrepid hero, Logan, was not at all put off. In fact he was totally attracted by her take-no-prisoners attitude and strength as well as her curves and the competence she displayed in her job as the manager of the small hotel in tiny Invertary, Scotland. Underneath her somewhat prickly outer skin, Agnes was loving and loyal to anyone she considered “hers”.

At first Agnes resists her strong attraction to single dad Logan because she spent years raising her younger sisters and now she doesn’t want to be tied down. She’s also dying to leave cold, icy Scotland for warmer climes. However, Logan, his wonderful family (mom, dad, and 2 young teen kids) as well as the town of Invertary itself eventually worm their way into her heart and she can’t resist. Bringing them together were a few little mysteries connected to the hotel to solve, lots of memorable characters, all in all a great read to end the year. My only niggle was that the romance happened really fast, but that was just a tiny complaint, mainly because I would have liked more time to spend with these characters.

But soon enough, they were stuck together in closed closets.

I love Janet Elizabeth Henderson's romances set in Invertary, Scotland. They are a perfect blend of sweet, funny, swoony, and steamy! This final book ion the Sinclair Sister trilogy was no exception! I loved every minute of it. There is something I love so much about a good-natured hero and a slightly cranky, imperfect heroine. This book will make you fall in love with the Agnes and Logan.

I laughed out loud at some hallway antics and the forthcoming ribbing by the townspeople. I loved that the heroin was smart, capable, and independent. There is a bit of a mystery here, which I easily pegged very early on in the book, but that doesn't diminish from the enjoyment of this wonderful story!

And, as always with this author, the bond of women and sisterhood is present in this book. It's not just a vehicle for a woman and a man to find each other. There is family and female friendships that are imperfect and also wonderful.
