Wow what a twist this story has.It's such a pleasure to read a story that is fresh.The subjects dealt with are disturbing.And as a reader when your done if you don't come away with a different view on feelings concerning miscarriage and death you haven't read the book.The best part was "JOY" and I will leave that for you to discover.Believe me it's worth it!

This book was full of emotional ups and downs! At first I thought the two main characters would not be friends, but as the story progressed, that friendship for each character developed and grew and was such a blessing for each woman.
I’m not sure the title of the book really fits the novel after reading it.
I enjoyed it and could emotionally feel the joy and sorrow for each woman.

I will rate The Forgotten Wife by Emma Robinson a 3/5 stars. I didn't find this book to be my cup of tea. The title was misleading to me. I was expecting so much more from this book than what was given. The air of mystery surrounding Shelley and the departure of her husband, Greg, was about the only interesting thing in this book. When it was revealed what actually happened with him, I found myself to be disappointed. Neither character, Shelley or Lara, were particularly likeable. While I could relate to Lara on the desire of having a child, the rest of her backstory was dry. This book was rather drab for me. If you enjoy sappy and heart wrenching tales, then this book may be for you.

raced through this book as it had me hooked from the beginning. Would highly 5 star recommend.

Shelley's husband left a year ago but she has a room filled with boxes of memories that she has yet to get rid of. Her days are all spent doing pretty much the same thing and she is fine with it. Then a couple moves in to the house next door, Shelley is not keen to get too close with her new neighbors, however Lara, the wife, is expecting and lonely. She decides to help Shelley declutter the box room with the aid of a book she is obsessed with. Slowly the two women form a bond and eventually realize they have more in common than they thought.

If you're looking for a book with a surprise twist or shock factor, this book is not for you. Whatever "surprises" this book held were very predictable, at least for me. However, if you want a feel good story about friendship and moving forward, this was a nice quick read. I didn't care for either character through the first half of the book, but they eventually grew on me.

I really enjoyed how this was told in alternating POVs of both women. It worked very well for this story as it allowed it to unfold in a special way unlike other stories I have read. The pacing was done very well and the characters shined though-out the story. This was a full story about human emotions and friendship and man was it good. From supporting one another to humor this is one story you shouldn't miss.

Shelley meets Lara, her new and pregnant neighbour. Both women have secrets but despite each being isolated in her own way strike up a tentative friendship. The story is told in alternating chapters from each woman's point of view which works really well. Their secrets are slowly revealed, a bit at a time, throughout the book. Just when you think you know what is happening, another layer is stripped away. And that's how it is for Shelley and Lara too as they learn each other's deepest secrets and fears.

Emma Robinson has a wonderful talent for understanding human emotions and being able to express them poignantly on paper. This book made me laugh and it made me cry. I cared about the characters and what they were going through.

It is an inspiring story of the power of friendship and trust and being brave enough to open up let go of the emotional baggage that holds us back.

Robinson is fast becoming my go-to women's fiction novelist if I need a break from crime and psychological thrillers. She writes so well about female friendships, the early second guessing and insecurities that can feel almost like a courtship. Robinson recognizes how important kind, safe friendships are and how, if you want to have that kind of relationship with your friends, you need to take a leap of faith and learn to trust. Her books depart from the belief that, no matter what differences lie on the surface, you can always find a point of connection beneath if you're prepared to take the time to look deeper. She shows us that everyone has a story and that most people, no matter how blessed they appear, have been though something painful. Without retelling the story or giving any spoilers, this novel brings together two women at points of crisis in their lives and explores the painstaking process by which they attempt to find their way to one another and help each other face their respective challenges. It is a heart-warming, emotional read with real depth and it reminds the reader, as all Robinson's books do, that, yes, not everyone is perfect, but most people are fundamentally good. Right now, this feels like an important message.

This author and book is a first for me.
This book shocked me alitte as i thought the title gave it away, the story, however it wasn't what i thought I was expecting but in a good way, and I was glad my first assumptions we're wrong.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I always like books that deal with real issues.
This book took me on a extreme emotional rollarcoaster ride and I felt like I felt for the characters in this book.
Shelly's life is abit up and down. She has become accustomed to her own routine, and she tries to manage and cope and takes everyday as it comes. To the outside world she's coping however inside she's screaming. Everyday she tries to act like everything is normal. Pretends.
When one day a new couple move in to her street and everything changes, the neighbour Lara is pregnant and it seems like she has everything. Shelly and Lara become firm friends who bond over heartache, and the women have more in common than first thought. They are both suffering without giving away any of this story.
This book deals with real issues that real people face, very sensitive matters.
The author has written this book extremely well and researched, it's written beautifully and watching the story unfold was amazing.
This book makes you feel a whole array of emotions. happy,sad, teary upset a completely rollarcoaster ride. The friendship and support that shines through between them both is beautiful and the author has written these characters great.
I couldn't put this book down it's fantastic but also a heartbreaking read, extremely emotional and will bring tears to everyone that reads it. I would highly recommend this book and the author and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I was so excited for this book and the wait was completely worth it!! I absolutely loved Emma's last book and had no doubt this would be just as amazing.

I read this along with a couple of friends and it was great fun guessing what was going to happen next. Safe to say I was wrong about everything! This book is filled with surprises!

The story is about two woman who are dealing with their own losses. They become friends when Lara introduces Shelley to a book she believes could help her. As their friendship grows we learn more about their pasts which were both shocking and emotional.

I have gasped, laughed and cried throughout the book. It is a fantastic read that I could not put down! I cannot recommend Emmas books enough!

Well, when you see a new book by Emma Robinson you just know it is going to be nothing short of fabulous. And The Forgotten Wife is no exception.

We meet Shelley and Lara who make an unlikely friendship over the losses that they have both suffered. They bond over a book (I think Emma has watched too much Marie Kondo) and they end up finding themselves within each other.

Watching the friendship unfold, and seeing them get closer and the support they give during every aspect of their lives makes me want to make this duo a trio.

The book is heartbreaking, eye-opening and also hilarious in places. If you read one book this year, make it this. Because I am going to be recommending it to everyone on publishing day!

I'm not sure where to start with this review as I just loved this book so much. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! We meet two neighbours in this book, both hiding away from the world and hiding their own secrets. I absolutely love the way the story unfolds and the revelations are made. I laughed out loud, I gasped and I sobbed like a small child. Everything you could want from a book and more.
