This book is heartbreaking but a fantastic read. Alice is happily married to Jack and they have three gorgeous boys. Alice’s marriage is a fairytale but her childhood was a nightmare and she still suffers from the horror of this. Jack knows all about her background apart from one secret she’s too ashamed to tell anyone. Now Alice is getting messages from someone who seems to know this secret. Now all Alices hard work to survive her childhood could cost her everything.
I did identify some of the threads of this story but it didn’t detract from the story. I will definitely read this author again.

I have never read a Nicole Trope book so was excited to get the chance to read this story.

Molly is writing a book about abused children, she had a happy childhood with her sister Lexie but has visions of herself hiding in a wardrobe.

Alice is happily married with 3 children but she had an abusive childhood. She has not told her husband everything she went through.

Told from Molly, Alice and Margaret’s perspectives. We are drawn into their difficult lives as we get to know these complex characters.

This is such an addictive read. It’s emotional and I couldn’t put it down . I would definitely read more of Nicole Trope’s books.

Imagine keeping a secret for so long you can't even remember. But its a good secret for a good cause. Then you start talking about your secret and all things come to light. What a thought-provoking read. Recommended.

Someone Help

This book is emotion filled. Alice was happy with her mother and father, but when she was six her father died. Her mother could not cope with the loss, she could not cope with life. After she married Alice’s stepfather than things got worse.

The beatings started, and her mother became enslaved to alcohol. The her little sister was born and she loved her. Her stepfather became meaner and then he did unspeakable things to Alice. One day Alice took her sister out to the highway and hid while a car stopped and a lady in a shiny red car picked her up. Her sister was two years old.

Alice watched television that night and saw a wreck in a shiny red car and thought her sister was dead in the wreck. Her stepfather beat her mother and her but she never told what happened to her sister.

The story told in the book is about Alice, her relationship with her mother, her marriage and children. She tells her husband about being abused, but say nothing about her sister except that she died in a car wreck.

The story is separately about the sister now called Molly that was adopted but the foster family that took her in when she was found. She did not know she was adopted until she was married and read a blog on the computer that Alice wrote.

The story is about the mother Margaret. How she couldn’t cope. Her struggle with alcohol. Her grief at the loss of her husband Adam and her abusive relationship with Vernon,

It is mostly about feelings, about pain and hurt, about love and hate. It is about marriage, trust, heartbreak and hope. It will make you cry and fill you with hope.

This book covers the topic of child abuse and does it in a sensitive way dealing more with feelings than actual detail. It was an interesting read about a subject which needs to be addressed in society.

The Nowhere Girl is a novel about women: Margaret, Alice, Molly, Lily. Trope digs deep into their hearts and souls, allowing each character to develop into the heart of the matter, what is at their core that keeps them from feeling content. Alice is a writer and maintains a blog to help her connect with women who have had problems in their lives. She doesn't count on very pointed questions about her past to pop up.

The mood of the story is tense, and it becomes clear from the beginning that there are dangerous secrets, and someone has gotten hold of them. NT slowly unravels the life long secrets, but doesn't give us a hint that it will all turn out well for Alice and Molly. Stories of abuse can be found everywhere in fiction and memoir writing today. This story is complex and so suspenseful that I couldn't put the book down until I figured it all out. I felt grief and sadness, reading this story. It was worth it though, NT puts all in proper perspective by the end. Take a chance, and you won't regret reading what some children must endure to carve out a life in this world.

It took a little longer than expected for me to commit to reading The Nowhere Girl.. Much of the subject matter contains abuse, violence and assault. Even so, I soon became engrossed in the story of Alice, her little sister and their alcoholic mother. In spite of the serious content, I found the storyline intriguing. Better fasten your seatbelts because The Nowhere Girl quickly graduates into a full-on addictive psychological-thriller!

I found this book quite hard going but very compelling, to think that children are in such an horrendous situation is heartbreaking. I wanted to shake and scream at Margaret to do something to protect herself and her little ones, what a state she was in because of her mental health problems and alcohol addiction. The story was so well written that it was as if the events were happening in front of me and it was hard to disconnect and think of it as fiction.

Readers will be hard pressed to put down this intriguing thriller. I loved the way it was written, with both Alice and Molly able to voice their own story. With the added voice of Margaret, readers are able to get a better understanding of their lives. Child abuse is a tough topic but this author did an admirable job writing this story. Loved the ending!

I loved this one. Took a little bit to get connected to the characters but once i did WOW. This book contains disturbing subject matter and was hard to read at times due to that. It is told from each persons point of view. Big thumbs up for Nicole Trope. I will be looking fro more books from this author.

This is a story about three women whose lives are connected. Certain topics of the story were quite difficult to read and will leave a lasting impact

I read The Boy In The Photo so I was expecting a good psychological/domestic thriller and I got that and so much more. This is the story of choices ten year old Alice made living with her sister and alcoholic mother both dependent on her mothers violent boyfriend Vernon to bring food and vodka home, the two items to sustain and prolong their pain. In the future we meet the grown Alice, inwardly crumbling but living the suburban dream, we meet Molly, a young hoping to be expectant mother, and we meet Alices mother Margaret, living in a care home. The flashbacks are so painful to read, full of violence, assault and alcoholism. The fear of the boyfriend Vernon, holding both mother and daughter in place. Finally the truth begins to emerge and the women will need to confront the past as the only way to move forward. I could taste the vodka, feel the blows and know the powerlessness of these women through the depth of the writing. Margaret, Alice and Molly . You three will stay in my head a while.

This is the first book by Nicole Trope that I have read but it certainly won't be the last. This was a gripping and well written book that kept me hooked. Great book. I recommend it.

I have read a couple of this authors other books and absolutely loved them. This was another gripping page turner. It was very emotional with some upsetting scenes but I couldn’t put it down. Loved it from the first sentence to the last.

OMG...what can I say? This is my second Nicola Trope story, the first being The Boy in the Photo and once again Nicola took me on a journey. I loved how she kept having throwback chapters to help tell each characters life-story. It felt so real, I cried at the abuse each woman went through and full of hope for the sisters future.

This was a great book by a great author. I loved the flashback style, chapters told from different view points and from past and present.

Although you kind of know what’s going on for the most part, you will whiz through this book to a great finale.

All the characters are great and even Margaret’s story is touching and tragic.

Only dropped a star as it was a tad far fetched and coincidental at the end with V and Molly.

This isn't A a book for everyone because of the subject matter. At times it is hard to read, but oh my, what a story! I absolutely loved it from beginning to end

Wow, just wow!!!!! This book was so amazing and beautifully written. It had a little bit of mystery along with pulling your emotional heartstrings at every turn. This is the second book I read by this author and boy she did not disappoint. I just love her books and can’t wait to read more by her. This is my first book for the New Year and it is already going in my top ten for the year. It was just that good.

This book was about three women who lives are connected with one another. It was about finding out the truth on what happened so many years earlier and getting past the mistakes that were made. The past always catches up with you in the end.

I want to start by saying that I loved the way this book was written. It went back and forth between three different women and their perspectives on what happened so long ago. I loved this because we got all point of views instead of just one. There is always two sides to every story and I love it when an author does it. I also liked the story line itself but I do have to say it not for the faint hearted. There are topics in this book that some people might find hard to read. I even had trouble with it and I’m as hard they come. With all that said, it also made it why I loved it so much. We need to talk about some of these issues as they are happening every day and something needs to be changed. For me this book was an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to get off from. Once I started I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end. This book has definitely made an impact on me and that is why it was so great.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic book, I feel as though I have been in a spin dryer reading from page to page which I couldn't put down. Great, well developed characters which I got involved with straight away, extremely well written and a definite 'edge of seater' with a suitable ending.

This was a tough read for me. I felt for the children and the adults that still live the evil inside their own head. It was a vague story and Alice POV. Jack was an anchor.

The Nowhere Girl by Nicole Trope is a stand alone romance novel with darkish elements. It's a raw and gritty read, told in multiple pov. Normally I'm not a fan of multiple povs, but in this case, aka The Nowhere Girl it's very fitting and essentiell for the story.

Alice is a woman who has it all, so it seems. Happily married with three boys. But behind the facade is another picture. Alice has had a more than rough past and she carries the scars as proof. She misses her sister fiercely.
I started reading and was sucked into the story from chapter one.
The Mowhere Girl is an emotional pageturner, gripping and unputdownable, fast paced with just the right amount of danger and drama. The story gave me all the feels and I connected easily with the characters. 4,5 Stars.
