I could have read this in one sitting, it was that engaging, but I needed to sleep. Excellent story with a lot of heart, emotion, and mystery. My only complaint is that, like so many recent books I’ve read, there is a slight “vagueness” to it. I prefer my stories to be clear, concise, and on point, no matter what the subject is. That said, this was a sad but inspiring story, and some parts I thought I’d figured out were not as I believed. Child abuse is never ok in my book, and this one addresses a lot of it. Some parts were hard to read and process. I was on the edge of my seat towards the ending. While many scenes were explicit, a vein of hope ran through the story. People can and do rise above horrific circumstances, and surviving and thriving after traumatic circumstances is an inspiration we can all learn from.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Alice has suffered a horrific childhood, one that she has worked hard to put behind her. She now lives with a loving husband and 3 sons, her life has turned out better than she could ever have imagined. Suddenly she begins to receive emails that cause her to relive the past she has tried so hard to forget and guilt she cannot forgive herself for.
Molly is a writer who is currently writing a story about abused children. She has grown up with a loving family but she cannot stop thinking of a blog post she read.
I enjoyed this book and truly felt for Alice's character, I am not sure I could be as forgiving as her though. I was absolutely disgusted with the character, Margaret. I get she had severe depression but to allow what happened is beyond me.
I am excited to read more by this author.
Many thanks to @Netgalley and @bookcouture for the opportunity to review this book

Alice is the survivor of terrible childhood abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriend. Committed to protecting her younger sister, she takes steps to get her to safety, but her plan goes wrong and Alice has to live with the guilt of what she did to her sister. Molly is an author researching childhood abuse survivors for her next story. Why is she remembering things that she reads in someone else's blog?

This is a well written, powerful, fast paced and emotional read that I read into the early hours because I just couldn't put it down!

It is a book that will stay with me for a very long time and I highly recommend it!!

This is another gripping page turner from Nicole Trope!

It's the story of two women, Alice and Molly. Molly is a writer currently writing a book about abused children, although she had a happy childhood herself. Happily married and hoping to have a child, she has a close and warm relationship with her sister and parents. Alice ran away from an abusive stepfather and alcoholic mother when she was a teenager, but is now happily married with three children. Although she told her husband about her childhood she has not told him about the guilt she keeps hidden about her little sister. Now Alice's past is about to rear up to threaten everything she holds so dear.

Nicole Trope is a master of this type of domestic thriller, carefully eking out the clues and building up the suspense until the plot reaches a dramatic climax. It's a heart-breaking tale of two children who fell through the cracks and one that you may find difficult to put down!

This book really touch my heart. It was so sad to imagine children growing up in such a difficult situation.
Margaret is a mom who suffers from depression and has a little girl Alice. When her husband dies she falls into a deep depression and struggles to take care of herself or her daughter. Vernon steps in to take advantage of Margaret and her daughter. Margaret goes to the extent of having a child to keep Vernon around and supplying her with alcohol.
It doesn’t take long for Vernon be hitting on Alice and her mother. Alices life gets worse as Vernon keeps her mom drunk so he can take advantage of her 10 yrold body.
Alice protects her sister Lily from Vernon.
What happens to Alice as she gets older? What will Alice do about the emails she is getting say they know what she did years ago.

This is a difficult topic that is written well.

The Nowhere Girl by Nicole Trope is a heart wrenching story about emotional and physical abuse and what one little girl will do to save her sister.

The main characters are slowly yet courageously developed and it’s easy to feel the pain, suffering and turmoil of these women. While the trauma occurs in childhood, the consequences and repercussions are carried far into adulthood, and reverberates through their, and their families’, lives. The supporting characters complement the story well and add a well-rounded depth to the novel.

The premise is an all-too real one and it was interesting to read about it from the perspectives of the three different women (although I could feel no sympathy for Margaret, no matter how disastrous her life was!).

It’s a tragic story that unfolds with sincerity and care. Although it’s an horrendous topic, I enjoyed the book very much and will definitely read more by work written by Ms. Trope.

I am a huge Nicole Trope fan, so I was thrilled when I received an advanced readers copy of The Nowhere Girl. I finished just moments ago and the only word that comes to mind is “wow!” I am blown away by the author’s ability to create such a painful, beautiful story. Alice and Molly, two of the main characters, are so likable I could feel their emotions. I felt everything from joy to anger. This story deserves great praise. I will be telling everyone about it and can’t wait for people to read it!

This book was captivating. I was hooked from the first sentence and had to keep reading until I got to the end. Alice is a complex and interesting character. I felt empathy for almost every character. It's written well and each character is multi-dimensional. It had my heart racing at the the end and I felt bad I had to leave them all hanging at one point to run a last-minute holiday errand!! I also love that it's set in Australia. Highly recommend. I wish I could give it SIX stars!

Warning: there are confronting issues and scenes depicted in the book.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookoutre for the opportunity to read this book. I will be looking for others by this author!
