I love a Lucy Diamond story and this book did not disappoint.

We follow four women through a week in Cornwall. Maggie- away for a week with her teenage daughter who doesn’t seem to want to know her anymore. Em- on her first holiday with her new boyfriend, oh and her teenage children and his young daughter. Olivia- running from kids as. Mother of three year old twin boys and Lorna who runs the cottages.

A little slow in places but a perfect holiday read.

A holiday in Cornwall, four women and their families, all come together and sort their lives out. As always Lucy Diamond writes real people and real problems very well, it is a story that made me smile, laugh and cry a little too.

This story brings all four women together, they each have concerns, heartaches and worries but this holiday is where they start to sort things out and see a future ahead of them. I liked the women, as I said they are very real people and very easy to relate to. I particularly liked Olivia and her story and link to Lorna, I felt their story was really heartfelt.

An Almost Perfect Holiday is a good read. I did find it slow to get into and I did want to get on with the story at times but I also enjoyed it, especially the twist at the end. It is definitely worth a read.

An Almost Perfect Holiday by Lucy Diamond a fulfilling five-star read. This was an overall great read, but there were parts that I didn’t like as much, it just dragged a little bit. This one wasn’t what I was expecting as it was more female friendship and less romance, but it was what the author always manages a great read that will entertain and enthral. Tuck into this book and allow it to take you away to a Cornish seaside, while away the hours listening to the tide of the sea in your mind.

I have always found Lucy’s books to be well researched and written with loveable characters and interesting plot lineS and narratives.

We all have high expectations from our summer holiday and Em wants a perfect two weeks with her two teenage children, her newish boyfriend George and his young daughter .

With lots of characters this book made me laugh and cringe but It made me want to holiday in Cornwall.

I really enjoyed this tale of four women whose lives become intertwined at a group of Cornish holiday cottages. Strong flawed characters with believable back stories and enough of a twist to keep me reading. Another great novel from Lucy Diamond ...

BUT this review copy was frustratingly hard to read. The letter combinations “fi”, “if”, “fl” and “ff” and, occasionally “gg” were all missing. It took me a while to get into the headspace of replacing them but thankfully There were only one or two places where I simply couldn’t work out what was said.

This book was a light, feel-good read, despite dealing with some difficult subjects (such as death, adoption, and teenage issues), and came to a very satisfying conclusion. I experienced a whole range of emotions while reading it, from laughter to tears.

I always look forward to reading Lucy Diamond's new books and this one didn't disappoint.

One of the authors I look out for on a bookshelf. I was not disappointed. One location of holiday cottages, 3 very different types of families at different stages in life. All carrying baggage from past relationships. When you want the perfect holiday with your teenagers, new partners or an escape from every day routine. High expectations and reality meet but also start a lot of reflective activities and the way forward. A book to sit back and enjoy and situations you can relate to.

Definitely a novel with a feel-good factor. An easy read with enough of plot to keep interest piqued until the end. A lot of the situations described are similar to interactions we have all had with our own children, other families and other adults.

Anything by Lucy Diamond is going to be a book to look forward to. This was no exception.
It's a perceptive story drawn round three women, all of whom , for different reasons, book a holiday at a group of cottages in Cornwall.
Emma, in a boozy moment , has booked herself and her two teenagers, together with new boyfriend George and his ghastly six year old daughter. Maggie brings her teenage daughter, hoping to renew their relationship. And Olivia? Well it's almost accidental that she is there.
I did have to go back once or twice to remember who was who and who belonged to who, but altogether found this a good story, with plenty of teenage angst and adult problems thrown in, but with empathy.

Enjoyed reading this, the story of three different women, each with their own pasts who meet up at holiday cottages in Cornwall. Each arrive with their own baggage, and find themselves dealing with issues regarding their children, partners, as well as thin king of the past, and how things have panned out since, how things would have been if they hadn’t taken a different course/things hadn’t happened. By meeting up, they resolve to sort out their issues and try putting things right. Would recommend it.

A lot can happen over a week on holiday! This novel explores family relationships which come to a head in the course of a week in Cornwall. A range of dramas with the overall message of the importance of family and friendships.

A lovely warm and witty read, with great characters. Written with Lucy’s usual flair, it’s a great read for this chilly time of year and would be equally great by the pool!

This took me a little to get into but once I’d got absorbed in the stories of Maggie, Em and Olivia I couldn’t wait to find out how they would play out. This isn’t high on action but it’s a very perceptive look at families and how the past affects who we are now. The trepidation of balancing family life and a life as a person in your own right will resonate with many and this snapshot of a week with three women attempting to do just that perfectly balances their experiences on holiday with their backstories to give three very empathetic intertwined tales. This was well worth the effort.

I love Lucy’s books. This one was just as good as the others. Was nice to curl up with a summer read while we have this horrible cold weather outside. The story was great it had me hooked from the off. It was well written and flowed well. Lovely characters that all fitted together

Finally, Olivia wants to be the perfect mum but she is struggling to deal with demons from her past. Can she find the courage to finally face her demons and put her family first?

An entertaining book which was an easy and enjoyable read.
