Abby Keane, one-third of the law firm of Clark, Keane and Maldonade, Roxanne Daly, blogger and writer for Best Day Ever bridal magazine meet under rather strange circumstances. Spend a few days romancing each other, first names only and then as quickly as it starts it finishes. When the two women meet again things definitely don't run smoothly. This second instalment of A Legal Affairs romance doesn't disappoint, funny, amusing and all the ingredient for the perfect rom-com.

Well written. One of a serise but you don’t need to have read the others before this. I’ve read a lot recently that have been okay (3stars). That became my norm. Reading this made me realise how a well written book with natural dialogue is a joy. Carsen Taite is not out of practice at writing good books.

It didn’t meet my expectations, but its. A good read nonetheless. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. But i just didn’t click with this book the way I click with the first book of this series.

I didn't like the writing or the characters. I also didn't like the list of requirements the publishing company has for reviews and I don't wish to receive another arc from them again.

The second book for me was better than the first one! After reading the blurb for this book, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but it surprised me. I loved Abby's story. I am a sucker for the conversion of non-believers. I did think the ending of this book was also rushed, but it didn't leave me wanting more. I just picked up book three. Ready to start Grace's story. I recommend both books 1 and 2, saying book 1 in order to get to this one. Maybe she saved the best for last? I have my fingers for a book about Braxton's sister Kate.

Carsen Taite takes us to honeymoon paradise where two women who are not looking for lust find it in the most unexpected place. Honeymoon resorts are usually filled with couples, so when Abby and Roxanne meet it seems like an amazing chance. A no-strings one-night stand that they both crave and need. Then it becomes an affair for just while they are there. Abby despises weddings and marriage and anything to do with it. On the other hand, Roxanne loves marriage and everything to do with weddings.

Yet, something connects these two women and it is more than just body chemistry. Taite lets these women get to know each other without technology, jobs, or today’s pressures getting in the way. Something which is almost impossible to do. I loved it.

Of course we have to go back to the real world. As the cover shows though, when we get back from a vacation like that do we really want to go back to work? I think Jeanine Henning displays where Abby is when she gets back from Mexico perfectly.

Taite brings a different kind of heat to the relationship with legal fireworks for Abby and Roxanne. There is also a great moment of Never Been Kissed (Dir. R. Gosnell, 1999). I also had visions of The Bachelor (Dir. G. Sinyor, 1999). I don’t think I had a favorite character as I loved Abby and Roxanne together.

Taite gives us heat, romance, running brides, protests, and fake news. Damn sounds just like the real world. Maybe Abby and Roxanne are out there too, I hope so because I love them.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

I found this book to be just ok. There was nothing bad about the book, but there was nothing that I really loved about it either......

Out of Practice by Carsen Taite is book number two in Taite’s Legal Affairs series. This book can easily be read as a standalone, but I would recommend beginning in order. This book is focused on Abby, an overworked lawyer who is finally doing something for herself and taking a dream beach vacation to relax, unwind, and have a little more fun for once. Abby meets Roxanne, who dazzles her from the very first moment she sees her.

Roxanne is a blogger, who specializes in weddings. She has a huge following and therefore is undercover while working at the beach resort both she and Abby are staying at. Roxanne makes the calculated risk of not telling Abby who she is and what she really does. They hit it off and a vacation romance begins and ends. The hiccup is both feel more than they should for a vaca hook-up and when they both get back to their hometown of Austin. They do meet again but it turns out they are on opposite sides of a legal battle involving a bridal dress shop gone bankrupt.

You know if you go for a Carsen Taite book you are going to get a great read. It's guaranteed every time. I thought this book was so fun and engaging. The characters are well developed, the chesty is there and the legal drama keeps you engaged. I am not usually one for the instant-love but Taite does this one so well. I cannot wait for book 3 in this series.

So good!! Just what I needed, with all the things happening in the world right now. This book was so good and I cried at the ending. I love romances and this book delivered so well.

I really enjoyed the first 20% or so of this book. The "getting to know you" and instant chemistry between the two characters was fun and realistic, and I liked how the temporary vacation setting gave them an opportunity to relax and be open with each other. However, once the characters returned to the real world of day jobs and outside influence, it quickly went downhill. We barely get to see them talk to each other about themselves or their lives, so it's difficult to be invested in their relationship with each other. You get to know them individually through their perspective chapters, but not how they work together. The proclamations of love felt SO rushed because of it.

I also got a bit bored because of the cyclical nature of the romantic conflict. Abby "doesn't do relationships", Abby catches feelings, Abby denies feelings and pulls back, rinse & repeat. It got old pretty quickly. The underlying legal conflict was okay, but I wish there had been more from side characters to get me invested in that plot line.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. I highly recommend that the first book in this series is read before you begin this one. This starts right where the last book left off. I loved how we got to see Abby out of the lawyer setting first and in vacation mode. Her and Rosanne were amazing and it brought a lot of interest as Roxanne became connected in Abby's case. This was another great read from Taite!

This is the second book in the Legal Affairs series. When a reader picks up one of Ms. Taite’s books, one will be sure to find a book that is set in the legal environment. Out of Practice is no exception.

Abby Keane and her two best friends have started a legal practice (series book 1), and she has finally gotten to have her first vacation in years. While on this vacation, Abby happens to meet Roxanne Daly, a professional wedding blogger. Roxanne is not on vacation but is undercover to check out potential wedding locations for her wedding blog. Their brief affair is short but intense. Neither woman expects their lives to intertwine after their interlude, but they do in a very interesting and emotional manner. The majority of the book revolves around events after the vacation and affair are over.

As with all of Ms. Taite’s books, she does a great job with story development. Her characters are interesting and relatable. Out of Practice, as with her other book in this series, can be read as a standalone book. I suggest, however, the readers should experience the first one since it describes the history of the friends and their struggle in building their practice.

I enjoyed this book. It is light and a very fast read. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The second installment in Carsen Taite's Legal Affairs series

This was another enjoyable romance from Carsen Taite. I particularly liked the setup and pace of the book. The protagonists fall into bed together first, running with their astounding attraction to each other, and then the rest of the romance follows from there, and I think this was just the kind of easy low angst book I was looking for.

I'm looking forward to the third book in The Legal Affairs Series. I have a feeling Grace is going to be my favourite out of these three legal powerhouses.

I wasn't a fan of the character in this one as I had been in Practice Makes Perfect (book 1). I also found at time there was too much info on the events surrounding the couple instead of focusing on them.

I think book one was still my favourite but I still thoroughly enjoyed the change of pace with this book.

3.5 stars

In my review for the first book in the legal affaires romance series I stated that Carsen Taite should stick to her more law orientated books instead of her romance focused ones. While I still stand by that opinion for that book this new one is a completely different story. I really enjoyed this one, fun characters in Roxanne and Abby who have completely different views on the happily ever after. They meet in a resort in Mexico, agreeing to leave real life and work out of it and enjoy a couple of days of pure romantic bliss. (And yes, hot sex). Of course it turns out that they will be thrown together again..this time on opposite sides as a store for wedding dresses closes it's doors and brides are livid.

The characters and their actions feel real so you can relate very easily, yet there are more than enough overly romantic scenes that makes you shut out the world and wish something like that would happen to you. This book is hands down one of my favourites by this writer and I would highly recommend it if your looking for a lost in romantic reading afternoon/evening.

This book was a fun read.
Roxanne is the self-professed "Bride's Best Friend," a wedding blogger who hasn't yet had a chance to be the bride. Abby is a lawyer who has just recently split from her old office to open a law practice with her friends. The two meet at a resort in Puerto Vallarta and have a short-lived but intense fling. After getting back to the real world, they run into each other- Roxanne has inadvertently found herself leading the charge against a bridal boutique that has suddenly closed it's doors and Abby is legal representation of one of the parties involved. They find their attraction still bubbling amidst the media crisis around them.
While I won't say that this book breaks any new ground in romance novels, I didn't expect it too. It satisfies the urge for an enjoyable romantic romp, especially set against a bride-filled backdrop. If you enjoy rom-coms and Say Yes to the Dress, then this book will be a good relaxation read for you.

I enjoyed this book. It is book 2 of a series it looks like, and I'm one who likes to read in order, so I may try to get my hands on the 1st book to see more of the characters that pops up in the series. The 2 main characters in this book, Abby & Rochelle, are both on trips to Puerto Vallarta for 2 different reasons - work and relaxation. Their worlds start to mingle on the trip that leads to running into each other in their work environments back in reality. It was a good story that made you want to find out what was going to happen.

I have always enjoyed Caren Taite's legal lesfics and this is another good one. It continues in the Legal Affairs series where 3 friends leave their law firms and start their own as partners. This book centers on Abby as she first goes on a vacation and hits it off with someone she met on the plane that was going to the same resort as her. The person she meets, Roxanne, is a wedding blogger. The two become even more intertwined after their vacation as Abby takes on a case where a wedding dress store shuts down leaving many angry brides without their dresses. So as not to get into spoilers, I will leave the description there.

The passion between Roxanne and Abby is strong from the start. The only negative that I have from the whole book is the lack of communication between the two characters, especially from Roxanne. Since she covers weddings on a regular basis, it would seem to me that she would see the importance of communication in a relationship, something that she does not do a good job of herself.

It is a very enjoyable story and a relaxing read.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

This book was an entertaining read. I didn't always like the two main characters, but it kept my interest even though weddings aren't a topic I"m particularly interested in. I always enjoy Taite's glimpses into the legal world though, and her characters had good chemistry.

This is the second installment in Carsen Taite's Legal Affairs series but it is not necessary to read the first one before this one. You can just start reading the second book in this series and enjoy it a lot - so did I.

Both main characters are great and they meet during a vacation. Their attraction is strong from the start but so are their differences. The real issue starts when they're returning home and have to fight against each other as adversaries in a legal and media conflict - this topic and the whole situation are managed and wirtten so well by Carsen Taite that I could not put this book down. The ending was movie alike and I LOVED it so much.

Can't wait to read another book written by Carsen Taite because she really hit a soft point and got me turn the pages in high speed.
