An easy to read medical romance. You can always rely on Fiona for a story that draws you in and is warm and full of interesting characters I was not so keen on the birth scene though. A gentle afternoon’s read.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. The characters were likeable and I felt for the main female character however I wasn’t as invested as I normally am with these stories.

It was a quick read and definitely helped me get out of my reading slump. The style of writing was easy to read and it flowed well.

I found this book interesting with plenty of drama to keep the reader hooked and those who enjoy medical parts of the medical romance would love it!
I liked Faith, she would do anything to protect her daughter Chloe and to me that is so important. Both actual family and the friends and colleagues that we make and that almost become family had a well deserved high profile in this book from Faiths side which made her feel even more human as was her determination to protect her daughter from the potential of her father just flitting in and out of her life as he seems almost intent on doing at the beginning
Raimondo left Faith and Chloe before Chloe’s birth but now he’s back. There has been a lot of tragedy and heartbreak in his family and this is evident in the way he behaves and interacts with Chloe and Faith. I struggled to warm to Raimondo though as he came from a very rich family and it seemed like he didn’t think anything of spending a lot of money on Chloe which while nice is a bit excessive when I think time is more what she wants and needs
There was a good split of voices however I didn’t get as much insight into the characters thoughts and actions so this tempered my enjoyment a bit as I did struggle to bond with them even when the medical incidents pulled me in
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy medical romances and smaller community life with a story that flows and characters who will endear themselves to you

This was a 3.5 stars read for me... I enjoyed how it made me feel, it was sweet, thoughtful and occasionally hot, however I did not feel that invested in the characters and the plot was super predictable. I am not one to be thwarted by predictability as most of the time's that why I am reading a romance novel because it is comforting, however, I had no doubt in my mind of what would happen next and what the final outcome would be.

The beginning was my favorite bit, getting to discover what happened between the main characters. If I am honest, I was also disappointing as I did not feel a lot of chemistry between the two of them - I know it was supposed to be there as were read about it, but I did not feel it much.

Also, I do not believe for 1 minute that her kid was so well behaved! No tantrum? Come on! No matter how well raised, a child of 5 does not have the emotional capacity to understand and this is a developmental fact. So sir, that child wouldn't have understood that you broke a promise, that child if it would've been real would've wailed to high heaven - just saying.

The Midwife’s Secret Child is a M&B Medical romance written by Fiona McArthur. Dr Raimondo Salvanelli did not know midwife Faith Featherstone was pregnant when he walked out on her. When she realised she wrote to him but he ignored her letter. She is bringing their daughter up alone but when he finds out he flies to see them and persuade Faith that he is a reformed character who is dependable and committed to both her and their little girl.

I found the birth scene to be rather graphic and the story took a while to get interesting, the first few chapters drag.

I received this novel from Mills & Boon via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I found this book quite slow to get going and at times wanted it to hurry along. Once the story got going though I was hooked.

When Raimondo first walked away from Faith he didn't know that he had left a part of himself behind, Now she has a daughter and he is about to find out he is a father. As soon as the truth is revealed he flies straight to see Faith and to meet his long lost daughter. The story follows his attempts to convince Faith that he has changed and now he wants to commit to both her and their beautiful daughter.

If there's anything I like more than a good medical romance it's a secret baby story - and here my favourites combine to make a compelling read. I enjoyed this very much.

Thank you to NetGalley and to Mills & Boon Insiders for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely beautiful story, a true roller coaster of emotions and most definitely does not disappoint, a very sweet little lady included. I enjoyed this book very much.

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review. I haven't read this author before so this was an interesting discovery.

I recognised it was a medical romance but I don't normally like too much medical detail and I found the birth scene in this a bit too much. If I wanted a biology text, I'd go elsewhere!

Anyway, despite its very slow start, this was actually a very sweet story with a satisfying development of the romance and a happy ending. I liked the internal monologues which gave us an understanding of Raimondo's motivations and family background. He was actually a rather sweet guy although I seriously struggled with the "marrying to please the dying grandfather" trope, and the admission he had had sex with the wife. I also found Faith a rather unsympathetic character to start with . I could understand her initial misgivings but she was very hard towards him even after he'd convinced her that he hadn't known about her pregnancy.

I found myself really more interested in Dominico and Isabel - wonder if there's a story there.

This was well written but too sweet for me. I like a little more 'open door' sex scenes, and a bit of angst but nonetheless I enjoyed it on a cold January afternoon.
