I’m a huge fan of Caitlin Crews, and Amelia and Teo’s story is just lovely. Plenty of passion, conflict and sensuality, with likeable characters. A great read.

Amelia is such a capable character, constantly sorting through the debris of her mother’s constant affairs and marriages. She doesn’t have time for weakness, especially now when she’s finally claimed her life back and is contently living in San Francisco.

Teo, her older now ex-stepbrother, has always been her weakness, something she decided to exorcise by visiting his family’s Masquerade ball a few months earlier. She wore a mask and a heavy disguise, and when the inevitable happened, ran away like Cinderella, into the night. Now, she’s back at the fairy tale castle, forced to share the consequence of her out of character mistake, and reveal that she was his mysterious passionate partner that night.

It’s impossible not to like this modern-day Cinderella and her humour. She truly ruffles Teo’s stern outward facade, in more way than they both imagined possible. His solution is more of a punishment for Amelia, but she finds a way to get under his skin, and soon his heart rebels against his head, but will it be enough for a happy ending?

The chemistry changes from caustic to molten, the more time the couple spend together. There are many conflicts to overcome, but like all good fairytales, this one has a happy conclusion

Great characters, a wonderful modern adaptation of a fairy tale classic and a lovely balance of sarcastic banter and charming romance.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Teo is a duke and is haughty, uppity and obsessed with his position
Amelia was his stepsister for a few years but her mother moved on and they didn’t see each other again until a masquerade ball that Amelia snuck into as she couldn’t get teo out of her head. It leads to her becoming pregnant and both of their lives changing.
I went through stages where I was so annoyed with both teo and Amelia that I almost hated them but they were well written enough for me to be able to forgive them and accept why there were the way they were
There were also sections were they both endeared themselves to me and as the story progresses this did increase.
By the end I found myself actually quite liking Amelia, she knows what she believes in and what she wants but is she afraid to take it?
It did really pull on the Cinderella story and literally had me rolling my eyes at times it was so cinderellary!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy fairy tales and breaking through defences and positions to fight for what they want

Overwhelming. Irresistible. Off-limits. Teo de Luz was all those things to innocent Amelia that is until she attends his opulent masquerade ball in disguise, and they share a deliciously anonymous encounter! Now Amelia must tell this brooding Spaniard he's the father of her unborn child.

I am a big fan of opposites attract love stories which this definitely is!

We see Amelia’s and Tao’s relationship grow and change it isn't just all of a sudden. I really enjoyed the pace and plot.

I like how rather than a surface happily ever after or just a lust-based relationship, Teo and Amelia grew to really see each other and understand each other and acknowledge their faults in dealing with each other as the story unfolds.

This is a great escapism romantic read.

I appreciate the publishers for a copy of this novel, however it's a big no from me. Did not like it and cannot recommend it due to the massive issues I had with it.

I usually really enjoy Caitlin Crews' books and in the main I did this one too, however there were parts of the story I just found hard to swallow. Amelia is shown as a strong, independant woman who doesn't like the way her mother behaves, however when she finds out she is pregnant to Teo who was once her step brother she seems to lose this strongest part of herself. He takes her to a secluded cabin where he makes her his servant, and even though she is pregnant with his child, because she loves him so, she does what he asks. I would have preferred her to stand up to him from the start and he see the error of his ways sooner.

The romance sections of the book I really enjoyed and I would still recommend this book as overall it was a good read.

Secrets of His Hidden Cinderella is written by Caitlin Crews and published by M&B Modern. The nineteenth Duke of Marinceli, Most Excellent Grandee of Spain - Teo de Luz encounters his ex step sister Amelia Ransom during a masked ball at his castle. Their meeting had consequences in the shape of s baby. She has to return to Spain to admit her true identity and infirm Teo about his impending fatherhood. Teo hates Amelia and her mother as he feels that she took advantage of him when they married soon after his mother’s death. Teo decides to marry Amelia despite hating her mother in order to exact his revenge and legitimise his child but will marriage lead to a HEA?
Teo comes across as haughty and unlikable, Amelia feisty and not overly in awe of his high clad status. An enjoyable read but not one I would reach to reread in a hurry.

An intense, long denied, emotionally charged romance of step siblings, having recognised a deep attraction years before.

A masquerade ball is where they conceive a child, forcing another meeting where the truth is laid bare.

Deep emotional feelings of love, heritage and status are owned up to, with plans for the future.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story.

A nice enough tale, good characters and well written story. It isn’t anything original or fresh, but it’s a nice story, pleasant enough to pass a cold evening reading. Not one you’ll remember or come back to, but pleasant enough.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
