I tried so hard to give this book an honest shot but found it hard to follow. It was a DNF for me, even after trying to go back and read. The writing style was repetitive and not written in an engaging way, I feel it’s important to hear about other people’s stories and experiences; unfortunately this one was not for me.

The author really gave the sense of what it is like to be an immigrant. I found this book to be eye-opening, as some of the political things that occur were not surprising, but I wasn’t aware they went on. I definitely recommend this, as I feel it is important to understand what life is like for those that are starting over in a new Country.

Being an immigrant myself, this book caught my attention. The book is far more political and a mental eye opening memoir, than I expected it to be. This book is one that anyone who has even a slight interest in the life of an immigrant, should read.
