Beautifully written and very interesting to read.

The storyline in this has to do with severe bullying but mischaracterizes introversion as a result of bullying. I found this confusing.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Determined Dreamer is the third book from the Inspiration in Cologne series. The first two books Daring Dreamer and Bedazzled Dreamer made me fall in love with the author Deborah King. You may read the review of Daring Dreamer here (http://www.theclippednightingale.com/daring-dreamer-by-deborah-king-book-review/) and Bedazzled Dreamer here (http://www.theclippednightingale.com/bedazzled-dreamer-by-deborah-king-book-review/). If you've not read these two amazing books already, I sincerely recommend you to pick them right away and dive into them.

Determined Dreamer is also set in Cologne, Missouri a beautiful close-knit community I fell in love with after reading these books, thanks to the author for the precise details and detailed description. Kalie has been working at The Coffee Palace since fifteen and she always dreamed of owning it. She took up the offer given by her half-brother Shane and bought the place. Being bullied by a classmate since childhood, Kalie is always scared of relationships.

Elilas, the new comer in the town who is also a business partner is in love with Kalie but she pushes him away in the beginning because of her insecurities. Kalie hides a secret from her loving brother Shane initially, but she comes out clean with her brother and sister-in-law with the kind support of Elias.

This story is about how Kalie fights her demons and starts trusting people around her. It turns out, Kalie not only fulfills her dreams, but also helps Shane bring his dream come true.

I have always loved the female leads in Deborah's stories. In spite of the traumatic past, these women raise above and make their dreams come true. Not only that, they also bring out the best in their peers and other members in their loves and I totally adore that quality. Deborah's stories strengthen my faith in sisterhood. I love this book. I sincerely thank Deborah for sending me an advanced reviewer copy for an honest review. Determined Dreamer is releasing on 17th of this month. Happy reading, guys!

I haven't read of Deborah King's previous books in this series so I was hoping I was going to be able to follow along. But it can be a standalone novel. Determined Dreamer" is book three of the series.

It was a good, solid read. Bullying is a major issues and it affects you in every aspect of your life, even after graduating! Kalie, the main character, is feeling every aspect of that. But she buy a coffee shop and tries to make a life for herself. Her business partner (and potential love interest) Elias makes things interesting and forces Kalie to confront her past demons and to let love in. A great read with likeable characters. I'm on the lookout for Books 1 and 2!

Thank you publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Sometimes a little romance and family adventure are a nice change from serious books on theology, fun books on art, and other reading. This one's clean, interesting, and tells the story of people you'd like to meet.

Sometimes the heroes are extroverted and outgoing. This one's about someone who prefers people she knows. She's determined to make dreams come true for those around her. I'd be interested in reading more from the series, so that tells you something.

A book of reconciliation and growth - you'll enjoy it.

Unfortunately this one just wasn't for me. I just didn't find it realistic and couldn't grasp the characters. In saying that it is very nicely written.

Fairly good romance. The plot concept was good it the writing style did not do a thing for me . I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased.

I really wanted to drop this book right from the beginning till the middle of chapter 13. Even I don't know how I managed to complete this book !

Half of the time I did not understand why the characters' teared up. Anywhere, anyone would tear up and it was absolutely annoying ! I was so exasperated, I wanted to get in the novel and ask the characters' why they were crying !!! Like when Janna and Shelby tear up when Shane mentions her Janna's grandma - do you cry at the mere mention of a name ?

The story was not well written. Many a times I felt like the previous sentences were not leading to the next. And the way Kalie solved what was wrong with Mrs. Moore's explanation is really not satisfying. I didn't feel anything and this is probably the only book where I felt this way. Many explanations are left incomplete. Like Shelby almost failing. What was Kalie trying to convey to Nanny at that time - how difficult taking care of a pet is ? When someone discloses that they were about to fail, you react more strongly. You sympathize with them or maybe laugh at them. But nothing is addressed to Shelby then. And when they say they taught Kalie well , what ? What did they teach Kalie ? To leave sentences hanging ? Because I could not conclude anything from that part.

I read to lead the lives of my book's characters'. Unfortunately I could not feel them.

I feel this book needs major editing ( and omitting ). It felt INCOMPLETE and I am badly DISAPPOINTED.

"Determined Dreamer" is book three in the Inspirational Cologne series.
At first I didn't think I would finish this book. But the more I read it was a great novel. Bullying at any age is horrible. Especially keeping it hidden and causing so much heartache. You won't regret buying this book. Friends, family, and a coffee shop! There's not anything better!

Thank you publisher and NetGalley for the eARC

Enjoyed this book very much. I, being a victim of bullying, could relate partially. Thank you Deborah King for this book. I hope to read more of this author in the near future.

Where to start? Unrealistic and annoying characters that feel like caricatures, not people. The language doesn't flow naturally, in either conversation or description. Also, there is a lot of telling, not showing. The main character's inner monologues/reflections doesn't help much, either.

This book was simply not a hit for me.

I have recommended this book to a lot of my friends because I received an ARC of this book and this book just blew me away. Let me tell you why. Kalie was bullied since childhood but never told her family or her friends. She just suffered and became an introvert. I am an introvert and the telling of her story made me realize so many things.
The courage, it took for Kalie to decide to buy the coffee shop, she worked in during her high school years. Her brother and his wife helped her to buy it. After buying it, she met Elias who wanted to be partners in the coffee shop with her and she had a dream of having coffee and crepes. Her brother took her shopping for the dishes, utensils, and ingredients needed to make crepes. After that, her brother was trying to teach her and Elias how to make them. While she was trying to learn she realized her brother could have been a gourmet chef. She talked to him about it and he had been a chef but he had to give it up. Elias and Kalie were growing closer but Kalie couldn't give Elias her whole heart because of the secret she carried with her. Eventually, Kalie told Elias and she slowly began to trust in him and herself.
Cologne, Missouri is a small town but it is expanding with new businesses and new people. While reading the book, I felt like I was right there with them. I fell in love with the town and the people. But you don't think that is all there is to the book. I said the book blew me away. Wait until you read about Kalie and the person who always bullied her. It is going to blow you away too. This is a book to put on your list of books to read. Mark March 17th on your calendar because that is the day this book will be published. You don't have to be an introvert to love this story because there are so many different people, doing different things, there are secrets to learn, and I just love a book where one sentence can make you question things in your own life.
