Work It, Girl: Michelle Obama by Caroline Moss was a "Bright and wonderful illustrated book". It may be a small book about Michelle Obama who is a very strong woman and a role model for so many people. But full of so many things about her.
This book tells the story of Michelle Obama life, where she was born etc...........I loved it it was a Happy book full of Michelle's big smile.

I'd highly recommend for young middle grade and teen readers.

I thought this was a cute little story of Michelle Obama’s life. I thought it was fun and easy to understand for younger readers. The art was colorful and interesting. I do feel like some of the writing was talking down to the reader instead of talking to the reader on their own level. I did like the little extras in the back and the further reading suggestions. Overall, really cute!

The art was stunning, beautiful and colorful and the whole writing was on point.

Very well written and illustrated. After reading becoming it is almost like a smaller version of it - condensed with amazing and inspiring illustrations. Highly recommend for Michelle fans. This book was definitely different than I thought it would be. I was expecting a fast easy read. What I got was loads of information and full pages with pictures (adorable pictures) and loads of text.

I can't see it being a all in one night bedtime story but I can see it inspiring children. Even myself as a adult was inspired!

Inspiring short book for middle school children, packed with pictures and inspiring quotes and anecdotes from Michelle Obama. Includes snippets of her life and the people who inspired her to be a strong leader. Really enjoyed it!

The “Work It, Girl” books are amazing resources for kids. They are detailed and don’t talk down to the reader like many children’s books do.

The Michelle Obama editionn of the series did not disappoint. The narrative really puts the reader in Michelle’s shoes. The questions at the end were very thought provoking.

And, thank you, Caroline! For not focusing on Michelle’s value in relation to Barack. Thank you for letting young readers know that you can be a fully formed person BEFORE you find your partner.

I love this kid-friendly biography of Michelle Obama! I definitely will purchase a personal copy and copies to give as gifts. The illustrations are great, and I especially love the discussion questions at the end.

Part of the "Become a leader like..." series, this book covers Michelle Robinson, lawyer, scholar, activist, and who also happened to become married to the president of a few years back (and before he was president!). She came from quite humble beginnings and was sometimes discouraged from pursuing her dreams, but she refused to let others' opinions dictate what her goals would be or where her sights would be aimed, and she achieved every one of them that she set herself, graduating Princeton and Harvard and working in a law firm before moving into more community-spirited occupations.

She met Barack Obama in that first law firm and traveled with him to the Senate and the White House, despite having some doubts about both places! This book tells a fascinating story and makes it all the more a pity that her aversion to politics will prevent her from running for president. If she did, I do not doubt that she would win hands down without question. I commend this book as a worthy and inspiring read for young children.

This book is virtually a great, simplified version of Michelle Obama’s Becoming. The author did a great job of taking the info about Michelle’s life and putting it into an easily accessible story for young readers. The book will help young people relate to Michelle, and see how leaders aren’t just magically created but work hard. The author also did a nice job of asking questions throughout the book to really help readers connect to and reflect upon the info presented.
I wish something like this had existed when I was younger, to show me that anyone - not just rich people, not just white people, not just men - can be a leader.

When I saw this non-fiction book for kids I just had to request the ARC because it's the perfect motivational, inspirational book for the young kids growing up. I loved how this book is part of a bigger idea with a lot more books adding to the series. I have always had the highest respect and admiration for Michelle Obama. She is a very smart, hard-working woman who fought against perceptions and difficult circumstances in life to become who she is today. This book is a biographical account of her life from a young girl to her adulthood. We follow her journey, her struggles, life-changing events and a lot more in this book. I believe this is a children's version of her book The Becoming and it makes this story accessible to a wider audience. The story of her triumph and her journey as The First lady are all quite engaging and wonderful to read about. This book will be most suitable for middle-grade and high- school kids, especially teens who would love to have a fantastic role model to emulate and get inspired by. I would highly recommend this story to all the parents and definitely encourage your young kids to read this book as its highly beneficial and the book has cool illustrations which are an added bonus. I gave this book 5 stars and I hope to get to other books as well that are part of this series in the future.

Wow! I loved this biography.

Not only does it tell the story of Michelle's life from the beginning but it also helps you get right into her mind. We understand her philosophy in life; what makes her tick, enabling the reader to get a true picture of who the woman beside the President actually is.
The book is littered with quotes from Michelle, which I absolutely adore and would gladly put them in my classroom to share with my children.
I thought this book was an inspiration and even helped me become more understanding of what she has been through in order to become the woman she is today.

This is an inspirational book about Michelle Obama and it has lots of great illustrations in it. It shows that one can get far if one really wants to.

Work It, Girl: Michelle Obama by Caroline Moss is a fun book for the beginner reader to learn more about Michelle Obama or a strong female role model in general. While this book is definitely informative, the main message I feel it conveys is the confidence it tries to put into the reader to be exactly who they want to be. This book encourages individuality, it encourages standing up for what you believe in, and it encourages being true to yourself. While learning about Michelle and Barack Obama was interesting, that is what really makes this book an asset for anyone that wants to teach their child important life lessons.

The illustrations were cute without being too distracting. At the end, you also find the 10 most important lessons to take away from this book as well as questions that prompt the reader to think deeper about the material as well as themselves. For anybody that wants to learn more, there are also recommendations for further reading.

Work It, Girl: Michelle Obama is one seriously motivational tale that I'd highly recommend for young middle grade and teen readers.

Michelle Obama is a girl's girl. She is seriously cool, wickedly smart and super talented. If there's going to be an inspiring little biography of a woman, she's definitely the woman you'd want to pick! Michelle's story isn't simple and easy, but it shows that hard work can pay off. She went to law school, worked hard, and got things done! At times her life was tough, but she got through it and proved (and still proves) that women are absolutely strong and amazing! Her tale is honestly inspiring.

There's so many incredible pieces of art and so many motivational quotes in this book it's unbelievable. I would have ate this book up as a kid! It's reassuring to know there's some really powerful and strong women that kids can look up to.

The art style really stood out to me. There's lots of colours and a unique cut-out style look. I'm truly impressed by that. It stands out really well. Mix it in with the amazing quotes they outline, and it's perfect.

I can't really see any faults to this book. It is not many pages (under one hundred) but it does have a lot of words. I wouldn't recommend it for very young readers, but middle grade would be the youngest.

I'd highly recommend this book. I honestly think it's fantastic. My socks are blown off! No surprise - Michelle's the boss.

Five out of five stars.

I read Becoming, and absolutely loved it so I thought I’d read this as well. It will definitely be something I pick up for my future children! She’s such an inspiration, and this tells her story in a way younger people can understand.
