I thought this was the full copy as I don't usually read samplers, however this was good I want to read more!

I didn't realise this was just an excerpt so I was dismayed when I didn't get a whole chapter. Anyway, it was funny, unique and I'd definitely like to read more.

I feel really blindsided by this one. I had downloaded this with the thought that it was the full e-ARC of The Love Hypothesis, only to find out that it's merely a short sampler. A sampler that tells very little of the story, if I'm being honest. The worst part is that it was never indicated on the page that this was a sampler(!!!). False advertising at its finest.

Anyway, I truly do not understand what I'm supposed to be reviewing here because the sampler was a glimpse too brief to make a proper impression. In the measly slice of the book that I was allowed to read, I will say that I am still very much looking forward to reading the FULL story of The Love Hypothesis. I had really loved Laura's debut novel, and it's clear to me that her writing style is just as chaotic and entertaining in this one. But that's really all I can say because - and I cannot stress this enough - the sampler gave me very minimal material to review. And if I sound salty, it's because I REALLY AM. The least y'all could have done was explicitly indicate in the description that this was a sampler.

Despite liking the sampler's content, I will still give one star just to emphasize how stupid and pointless uploading this book's sampler is. Seriously, it's not like I can post a review of the sampler on Goodreads. Are y'all okay??????????????????????????

Oh my days, this sampler has made me even MORE excited for this book. I could have screamed when my Kindle said it was the end, I wanted another chapter! Roll on March!

(Although on a negative note, I do have to agree with another reviewer that the idea of adult men having a boner over a teenage girl in public is soooo gross. Ugh.)

Despite being a short excerpt, this first taste of The Love Hypothesis is amusing and enticing. Caro is a highly intelligent girl with love and self-esteem problems. She feels unattractive and invisible, Her unrequited crush isn't aware of her existence. Desperation takes over, then, and she decides to buy pheromone-boosting pills off the internet and take a double-dose, but... nothing happens, or so she thinks...

I'm definitely curious to know how it goes on!

I was so disappointed when I realised this was only a sampler! I hadn't realised before. However, I wasn't disappointed in what I actually read - it was bizarre but quite funny. I actually saw Lauren Steven speak at a International Woman's Day event and she was the funniest member of the panel so the fact that this sampler had me laughing out loud wasn't a surprise. I can't wait to read more!

Thank you Netgalley and Egmont for the sampler!

I didn't realise this was a sampler, super disappointed when I opened it excited to read it. It's hard to rate it based on this, but definitely intrigued to give the book a go some time soon!

Usually I can get a sense of whether I will like a book within about 20 pages (conveniently the length of this sampler!), so the fact that I quite liked the writing here and did actually want to continue reading beyond the end was only a good sign. Yeah, there were a few moments where I cringed - ones that made me think I might not end up rating this over 3 stars when I read the whole thing - like the whole Bonepocalypse thing (particularly how everyone, even ADULT coaches got boners over this TEENAGER, and how she thought her DADS might do the same), but it's a YA book, I'm used to cringing in that way. And overall, it seems to be centered on a relationship between girls and I love that. Definitely will be giving this one a go in March!

Oh how I wish I’d read the other reviews before selecting this book because then I’d have realised it is A SAMPLER!

I’m very frustrated which is a compliment because I really want to read more. Any protagonist who describes her inner thighs as “ground beef steak” following an impromptu 2 mile sprint is a character I can spend more time with.

The premise is curious and I’d like to see how the notion of an intoxicating pheromone drug plays out. The sample I’ve read is also gloriously crass - it promises young women depicted honestly. My rating is based on the sample.

Shame this was just the sampler, because I want to know what happens next! The premise felt a bit ridiculous, but the characters were funny and it's queer so I'll definitely be adding it to my personal library when the book comes out.

A bit silly, but because I know it's queer, I'm sure I'll end up reading the whole thing. Very disappointed that there's no clue that this is a sampler, though. I was very excited and then majorly disappointed.

I wasn't aware this was just a sampler because that was not communicated in the title or description of the book. That disappointment aside, I'm not sure what to think of this sampler. It was very ridiculous, and I wanted to find it funny, but I just didn't. I was highly anticipating this book, but now I'm not so sure if I'm very interested in it anymore.

I've been so looking forward to reading this book, and I had serious FOMO when I wasn't at YALC so couldn't get a sampler. My dreams came true here, and after this short sampler I am so excited to read on. Caro is such an interesting character already and I'm excited to see how her story will continue.

That was slightly ridiculous but also funny, and I’m very intruiged to read the entire book 😂🙌🏻 I didn’t expect any less from Laura Steven.

This was such an enjoyable read; I didn't want the sampler to end! I already really like the characters and can't wait to see more of them in March (according to Waterstones, that's when my preorder is coming in). It's already hilarious and has the potential to be utterly heart-warming.

Hilarious sampler of a book that is on my Most Anticipated Reads for 2020! Can't wait for the full thing to come out later this year!

I hadn’t realised this was a sampler until I started reading it and noticed how short it was! It’s hard to give a proper rating to something that’s only a few pages long. I liked the little we saw of the characters but wasn’t overly taken with the big scene at the beginning. Still, it will be interesting to see where the author goes with the premise.

Really enjoyed the sampler and will definitely be getting the book! The rating is based on the sampler, not the full copy.

I just read the sempler and I cannot wait to read this book, cause I loved THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF OKAY and A GIRL CALLED SHAMELESS

The sampler of The Love Hypothesis was fun, but without more it is hard to give it a proper rating or review. It would be interesting to know how the narrative plays out, considering that the premise could be a chance for characters to explore their feelings, or something a bit more sketchy about not being able to control attraction to someone. Hopefully it is the former, and it would definitely be good to know the characters from the sampler a bit better.
