The problem with three perfect liars was I didn’t care enough about any of the characters. They just weren’t likeable and so who set the fire and why was irrelevant. It was right at the end when you find out why Mia started working for Harry and that she was really after Janie that things got interesting and at that point the book was ending. The author missed a trick there, it should have been more about the why in great detail and less about a bitchy workplace.
Not a winner for me this one,

Heidi Parks always has me hooked from page 1 and this book is no different
Three women Janie married to the owner of the business, Laura his once best worker back from maternity leave, to her safe job
After all she picked the girl to get her Mat leave job Mia only wants a temp job so works for them both although Laura suddenly realises whilst she has been away Mia has gone from temp to permanent and is now dealing with the client Laura has prepped and should be back working with
The business is not well liked in the community as a lot of locals objected to where it was being built
The business is ashes someone is dead all 3 woman where there as it burnt but who has best motive ??

Thank you to @heidiperks, @netgalley and @randomhouse for my ARC! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve read so many mystery/thrillers recently, or if it is the nature of this book, but I just could not stop guessing and trying to work out this plot! (And I sort of guessed it - but that is probably more because of the fact I was suspicious of everyone 😂). After a fire destroys the offices of a successful company, several people seem to know what might have happened and why. But who’s telling the truth? Is anybody? I really liked how the perspective switched between after the fire and the days leading up to it. Excuse the pun, but this book was kind of slow burn - and I liked the fact that the ending tied everything together!

I haven’t really read many of Heidi’s books but I quite enjoyed this one. Plenty of twists and turns to keep me reading and i liked the way the story was told from different perspectives. I will definitely look to read more by this author.

A fire has burnt down an office building and the police are looking at three different suspects.
Laura who has just came back to work after maternity leave and is extremely unhappy that her temporary replacement is still working there.
Mia who is happy to take over Laura’s job and obviously has an ulterior motive.
Jamie the wife of the company’s director who is unhappy about the time her husband spends at the office.
A slow moving story told by numerous narrators and in different timescales.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is written from several angles.
The introduction sees a massive fire in the office block belonging to Harry wood.
We see chapters where the police interview the employees to try and discover the truth about the fire.
We also meet Laura, new mum to Bobby but a Work a holic who is just back from maternity.
Mia, Laura's maternity leave replacement who doesn't seem to be going anywhere when Laura returns. She is hiding a secret and Laura is convinced she is after her job.
Janie, Harry's wife , a now stay at home mum who used to be a successful barrister. However her last case made her question her personal values and beliefs.
A brilliant book which had me guessing right to the end. Highly recommend.

Laura is the rising star in the advertising agency where she works, That is, until she returns from maternity leave to find herself usurped by Mia, the woman Laura handpicked to cover her absence, thinking her competent but unambitious. Not only has Mia been made permanent, she has also been given Laura's most lucrative client account, and Laura is reeling: the clients prefer her replacement, her colleagues prefer replacement, and her boss isn't listening when she tells him that there's something sinister about his new hire.

Mia, meanwhile, has her own agenda, and her own reasons for wanting Laura's job - but what are they, and ia Laura her real target or is she just collateral damage?

Them there's Janie, the CEO's wife - she has her own secrets to keep, and she'll do at any cost.
But when a body is pulled out of a fire at the advertising agency offices, it seems that the three women may have more in common than they think....

I really enjoyed this twisty, well-written thriller The author does a brilliant job of aligning and realigning the reader's sympathies, so that you find yourself rooting at different times for all three women. The story is well-paced, and builds to a thrilling climax, and I loved that even when all the twists had been revealed there was still a final sting in the tale.

I very much enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to my book group and reader-friends.
NB: I was provided with a free ARC copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I never repeat the blurb. This was a very long, slow burn but although I was curious to learn 'why' the guilty party was so evidently apparent early on, it did ruin it a little. It could have been perhaps a little less 'jumpy' and less drawn out but a reasonable read.

An unexpected and highly enjoyable tale.
The plot was very well written and had a lot of extremely unexpected twists. It had me hooked throughout. A lot of seemingly unrelated events which were all interconnected made for an intriguing read.
The characters were realistic, one thing on the surface yet filled with a whole host of emotions churning beneath.
Well written, filled with enough background and description to round out the whole book, without detracting from the story.
I will be adding this one to the shelf and will no doubt be reading it again at some point

Heidi Perks has done it again with yet another amazing psychological thriller. It will keep you hooked from the first page. Easy to follow from various viewpoints.

I would give it 6 stars if I could...

I look forward to a new book by Heidi Perks and when I saw Three perfect Liars on NetGalley I had to request it.
The story begins with a fire at the Morris & Wood company office building, A glass fronted state of the art building, when being built there was a lot of controversy. When a body is found the police are called to talk to three women for questioning. The story is set in two times lines. 5 weeks before the fire and then after.
The first one Laura has just come back from maternity leave and thinks she can just slip into her job where she left off. But the temp she hired until her return is still there and not leaving. Working on the account that she has prepared for.
Mia is the temp that they hired. She is very popular with her colleagues and she isn’t leaving, and she has a secret that she is hiding.
Janie is the wife of the CEO Harry Wood. She supports her husband entirely even given up her job as a deference lawyer.
The story goes back and forth to each woman telling their story while they are being interviewed by the police. As the story progresses, the suspense grows, what have these women got against each other and what are they hiding? This is an addictive thriller with lots of twists and turns but, was disappointed with the ending. 4 stars from me.

I loved the sound of this book as soon as I saw it. The idea behind it was fantastic and such a unique storyline. I found it easy to follow although it was told from different viewpoints. It kept me hooked and guessing right to the end. Very enjoyable book.

#ThreePerfectLiars #NetGalley
The most intense psychological thriller.
Laura, who has returned to work to find that her maternity cover isn’t leaving. The CEO insists he’s doing what’s best for the company. Laura isn’t convinced he’s telling the truth.Or there’s Mia. Brought in as temporary cover for Laura, she has quickly made herself indispensable – and popular with her colleagues. But if people knew why she was so desperate to keep her job, they might not welcome her so freely. Then there’s Janie, wife to the CEO, who gave up her courtroom career to support her husband and his business. She has her own secret to protect – and will go to any length to keep it safe.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK Cornerstone for giving me an advance copy.

Got into this book so quickly.

It opens with the fire at a local business and then we get the back story of the last few weeks leading up to the fire, interspersed with police interviews, the prime suspects are three women Janie, the wife of the CEO whose company has just burnt down, Laura and Mia - two women vying for top dog position within the company. Laura having just returned from maternity leave and struggling to fit work and motherhood together and Mia is the new kid on the block, full of ideas.

The narrative is so good, just when you think you might have worked something out, the book leads you into a totally different direction with no idea on what the conclusion could be. This felt like a TV drama, it just unfolded seamlessly in my imagination.

Great read - thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to review, this is my honest opinion.

A great domestic thriller. Set in a trendy office three women connected by one man. A death, guilty secrets and alibis all lead to a great read of who did the crime. Lots of twists and a great ending.

Great read enjoyed it immensely the plot was very cleverly done as you couldn’t wait to find out who started the fire with all the police interviews and alibi’s hadn’t got a clue the characters were all very complex and seemed to all have a secret which made the book more readable to try and find what their secrets were would definitely recommend.

A great whodunnit story about 3 women who suffer from life’s insecurities but outwardly have what everyone wants

The story interweaves between the lives of the 3 women who are inextricably linked. The start of the story details a fire in an office building- but was there anyone in it? The police are investigating throughout with exerts of their interviews with the company of the employees including the 3 women- 1 of which is the owners wife. But who set the fire? was anyone hurt?

A great page turner which I would recommend
