Another instantly addictive page turner from the talented Heidi Perks. She has a way of writing that draws you in immediately - this was a stay-up-late-to-finish-it read (just like her last book!).

As usual in my reviews I will not give away any of the plot details. I didn't guess who was responsible for the fire, nor their motivation; this is a refreshing change for me - as I read many books in this genre I usually figure it out before the end of the book so it's nice to be kept guessing sometimes!

Already looking forward to Heidi's next novel.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

Three Perfect Liars. Mia, Laura and Janie. All hiding secretes and lies. All pretending to be someone there not.

Laura - perfect employee, happily married and with a new born baby. Now she's ready to return to work and nothing can go wrong, can it?
Mia - the perfect maternity cover for Laura but why has she been given a permanent job when she only wanted a temporary contract? Why has she stayed and what seems to be her obsession with keeping Laura's job?
Janie - hot shot barrister who gave up her job to look after her 2 small children and married to Laura and Mia's boss Harry. Wife of the owner of the company. unlimited wealth and perfect lifestyle. What could possibly be her problem?
On the night Harry's publishing company burns down all 3 ladies are present but who was responsible and why?
I loved the way the story went from the present day back and forth to before the fire from each ladies point of view. Eventually the secrets and lies unravel and we find out who is hiding what and why until the arsonist is revealed.

Fantastic book, highly recommended.

This is a highly addictive whodunnit thriller. Once you start reading it is hard to stop.

The story is told in two timelines – before and after the fire to a prestigious office building. Laura is returning to her job after giving birth to her son. She stood at home for six month but she has to return because her job is the one which is better payed. Her husband stays at home with their son. Laura found a temporary replacement, Mia, before she left. But Mia has made herself indispensable. And Laura is soon very adamant that Mia is after her for some reasons. The third woman/liar is Janie, the wife of Mia’s and Laura’s boss Harry. All of them have something in their past they are hiding.

The author managed it to give each woman a character of their own. While I was annoyed by Laura and her obsessions over Mia getting to her, I could connect to Mia. Janie is an enigma but in an interesting way. The story is cleverly woven and rectilinearly told. The chapters are short and keep you reading, telling yourself to read ‘just one more chapter’. I was curious what was going on and what Mia and Janie were hiding. The only thing I could criticize is the point that Laura’s husband is labeled as being so supportive while he is only on the surface. Laura has to make more amends than any man would have to make for being the bread winner. Maybe that was the point and put it that way on purpose from the author because of the thematic. But it was annoying and unfair.

“Three Perfect Liars” is a story about how unfair the world is still to women and how they have to work harder to be noticed the same way men are and when they do so they are judged. Even by other women. It is frustrating but sadly true.

Coming back from maternity leave, Laura is suspicious of her replacement Mia who hasn't left and is making herself key to the company.. Wife of the CEO, Janie, has her own secret which she is trying to keep. It all ends in fire but who started it and whose body is in the building? A good well-paced story.

When an office building burns to the ground, we follow the story in the lead up to the fire of three women, all of who had the motive and opportunity to set the fire. But which of them, if any is the guilty one.
A well written "who dunnit" with a plot twist at the end.

This was the first novel by Heidi Perks that I had read and wow, what an introduction to her work! This is a tremendous novel, gripping, involving and exciting. Three people are linked to a devastating event and the story switches deftly from one to another as their past lives are depicted in detail, and between past and present and future. The revelations are jaw-dropping and one's attention is held throughout. I shall now delve further into her oeuvre.

Heidi Perks is high up on my list of favourite authors and I was delighted to receive the ARC of ‘Three Perfect Liars’ in return for my honest review. Many thanks to NetGalley, Random House UK, Cornerstone and Heidi Perks for this opportunity. My full review will be published on 9th March when I will be taking part in the blog tour.

Harry Woods, owner of Woods and Moore, has his modern office block which overlooks Lymington Quay go up in flames. One person dies in the fire and another is seriously injured.

The story is told from the point of view of events leading up to the fire and interviews with the police of the employees after the fire and it soon becomes clear that there are undercurrents in all the relationships. The three main suspects to setting the fire are Laura, Mia and Janie.

Laura is a high-flying director in the company who has just returned from maternity leave with all the trials and tribulations that entails. Mia was Laura’s maternity replacement but has been offered a permanent position by Harry, against Laura’s better judgement, and appears to be trying to take over from her. Janie is Harry’s wife and her relationship with her husband seems to be under pressure.

The characters all have secrets and revealing these gradually as the crunch date of Harry and Janie’s party approaches leaves the reader wondering what will happen next. The numerous twists and turns ensured I was engrossed as I turned pages rapidly.

Another classy ending from Heidi Perks. Something I expect from her. Highly recommended..

An enjoyable book between mia, laura and janine,. I wouldn't and couldn't guess who had set the fire. I did feel it dragged on a bit however i am a big Heidi Perks fan so it is still a thumbs up for me.

Such a good read...have read other books by Heidi Perks but think this is her best so far. The story opens with an office being burnt to the ground and is watched by an unknown onlooker. This book was a real page turner. Loved the way it was written from different view points...Laura returning to work after maternity leave.,Nick her husband, Mia, the person who took over her role, the wife of the boss., the investigating officer and so on...so many people had the motive. Lots of office politics, intrigue and suspense. A thoroughly good read.

Well, Heidi Perks certainly known how to tell a good yarn. The intriguing blurb made this a must-read for me, and for the most part I was not disappointed. The unusual setting - a workplace drama as opposed to a domestic drama, gave this novel a certain freshness that is lacking from other mysteries of this type. With its impeccable plotting, excellent characterisation, and understated prose, ‘Three Perfect Liars’ ticks a great many boxes. A great read seems to unfold almost organically, as if it beyond the writer’s consciousness. Perks, for the most part, seems to have mastered this skill. Indeed, Janie, Mia and Laura emerge as powerful characters, almost independent of Perks’ creative processing. Then there is the plot. This was eminently satisfying, set out with some intrigue in the opening passages of the novel. There is a great deal of mystery and drama at the heart of Harry Woods’ advertising agency and Perks captures the human drama of the workplace with great perception and acuity. The only downside of the story was the closing passages, which doesn’t make much sense. Well, to me at least. This is purely subjective and did not detract from my enjoyment of Perks’ excellent thriller. A recommended read.

A book of who done it,based mainly around three women who seem to come together at the end. I did have to read the last page a few times though, the only disappointing part!

When Harry Wood's offices burn down, resulting in one dead and one severely injured, the police start an investigation, and as it progresses the circle of suspects narrows down to 3 women.
Laura, who recently came back from her maternity leave only to find that Mia, the temp who was supposed to fill in for her during her absence, had been offered a permanent position and had taken Laura's best client.
Mia, who clearly has an agenda of her own. And last but not least, Janie, Harry's wife.
Each of them has a motive, but which one would actually act on it?

It was a fantastic read that got me hooked from the very beginning.
The story, interspersed with police interviews, follows the three women who tell us their intake on the events leading up to the fire.
The book might not be fast-paced and full of suspense, but nonetheless it is gripping and intriguing. The tension builds up steadily and keeps you guessing by providing the clues slowly but at the same time urging you to turn the pages to find out who the arsonist was and what motivated them.
I've not read anything by Heidi Perks before, but I will definitely be reaching for her other books, and I recommend you do the same.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for an opportunity to read this book ahead of its publication day.

Interesting start, but by the end I felt that motivation had been lost, and didn't understand the final page, even rereading it several times, I just wasn't sure what the conclusion was.
None of the three main characters were particularly sympathetic, which is fine if there are strong reasons for their behaviour, but ultimately I didn't actually care why any of them had done what they had done.
I thought the dilemma choosing between a child & work was accurate, and also that both Mia and Janie had a point to make, but for me, unfortunately, this novel just didn't do it.

Another great novel by Heidi Perks! I have enjoyed her other books but this is my favourite so far. As soon as I started reading, I was hooked. Laura returns to work after maternity leave to find that Mia, who was supposed to be doing her job temporarily, is still there and not only that, she has poached Laura’s best client. Mia has her own reasons for wanting to stay working for Harry Wood in his plush offices on the quay at Lymington and Harry’s wife Janie, who seems to have the perfect life, has problems of her own. There’s lots of suspense and I found it easy to keep turning the pages. I liked the structure and the easy writing style that draws the reader in. I was probably most interested in Laura’s situation and how difficult her life was, torn between wanting to spend time with her husband and baby but also keen to move forward in her career. It’s well written and gives the reader plenty to think about. I really enjoyed it.

I've read books by this author before and I always look forward when a new book gets released. This book is fantastic and I enjoyed it immensely and so will you.

Harry Woods building has been set on fire and we don't know if anymore is trapped inside. Was it arson ?
This story goes through the police interviews with the workers and suspects. Laura's life, Mia's life and Janie's life all have secrets.
Laura is a confident high flying company director who absolutely loves her job and has worked hard for it. She and her husband Nate have a baby and Laura took 6 months of for maternity leave.
Laura is finding it harder and harder to juggle the effects of motherhood, working mom and loving wife and Nate was losing his patience with her more and more. Can Laura really have it all ?

Mia is the woman who covered her, the woman Laura thought wasn't as good at her job so therefore it'd be easy to let her go. Only things have changed and now Harry is keeping her on.

Janie is Harry's wife and who was once a very successful barrister who's life is quite different now who was desperate to move house, she also has alot going on.
(NO SPOILERS ).

These three ladies all have there own problems and there own reasoning for doing this crime only is it actually any of them?
This book is so unpredictable and captivating that I couldn't put it down it really does keep you hooked. Everyone is a suspect. This book is definitely a case of who dunnit ?
This book will have you turning yourself into a detective and will keep you guessing throughout.

This book flicks back to the past and present and this story line is fantastic, it's full of twists and shockers.
This author writes absolutely fantastic and her books always keep you guessing and your desperate for more.
The characters in this book are awesome you can't trust no one, it's very suspenseful and a real page turner.

This addictive whodunnit starts with a fire at Morris and Wood, an office block built by Harry Wood overlooking Lymington Quay. Is it arson and who is responsible for this terrible crime? Does it have anything to do with the protesters who did not want this modern office built?

The story then goes back two months before the fire, where we meet three women who may have motive for starting the fire.

First we have Harry’s wife Janine who used to be a successful Defence Lawyer in London but moved to get away from something or someone!!!

Laura is returning to work after her maternity leave, she works for Harry in the marketing team. She is feeling guilty about going back to work which is not helped by the fact that Mia who was only supposed to be covering her maternity leave has now been given a permanent position and seems very popular with the rest of the staff, leaving Laura like a spare part!!

Mia has her own reason for wanting to stay working for Harry Wood. She appears to be something of a gossip and likes to stir things up.

The story is told from the perspective of the three women including interviews with the police and other members of staff working in the office.

I was hooked by this book and changed my mind several times over who started the fire. The three women have their own secrets to hide and I thought the slow reveal kept the suspense going.

This will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

Laura has just returned to work following maternity leave. Shes lucky to have a husband whos willing to be a stay at home dad becasue she loves her job. Everyone has always thought shes a little to close to her boss...

Mia was covering Lauras role while shes off, but now the boss has made her permanant and she has Lauras biggest client. Everyone in the office loves her but when she goes home at night the happy picture fades into a story that develops.

Lastly theres Janie, Shes the Bosses wife and a stay at home mum. her story feels like it develops really slowly then suddenly explodes. Shes nto ahppy in her marriage, she regrets giving up her career and has a mini facebook stalking additction along with ehr own personal stalker.

Whe the company office is burnt down the police question everyone, and the book flicks between the questioning and the weeks prior to the fire.  I spent the book wondering who set the fire, if there was intentionally anyone in the building and enjoying the usual office politics.

Theres a faint hint of the disparity between how women are treated in both the office environment and world throughout the book - with behaviours and comments and whilst the office points are obvious the ones Laura encounters and highlights to her husband who dismisses them are key idealisms that shouldnt exist.

A good who done it. The story revolves around Mia, Janie and Laura all who have complicated previous and recent lives. The story shows the interaction between these 3 seemingly univolved women but gradually you see the connections. Disappointed by the ending as a bit far fetched but a good read none the less
