I so loved being back with Jess and the gang for the second book in this series. I loved seeing Bella growing up and finding out what has been happening in everyone’s lives. That is a beauty of a sequel so thank you for writing this Louise Emma Clarke!

I love how these books are structured. We get a diary form with some facts and figures at the beginning of each entry including things like social media followers, meetings with publicists and holidays given. It is interesting watching that grow and change. Then we get Jess’s blog post for the day which is in the form of a letter to her daughter and her growing baby bump. It's a delightful way to start each chapter and I think makes the pace of the book nice and quick, you’re anxious to read on.

One of the reasons I loved the first book in this series is the flaws that we can see in all of the main mummy characters. Social media leads us to believe that people have a baby, come out of hospital, lose the baby weight and then everything is cute and sweet afterwards. You make healthy snacks and live in pastel colors when that is not reality. This book shows the reality. Jess isn’t always happy, things are messy and sometimes you need the babies to binge watch some peppa pig so you can have a glass of wine and a good cry. I love these characters for their raw realness, I really hope we get another book featuring these ladies.

Speaking of social media. I love any book that shows what having a blog and posting on any kind of social media is really like. This book talks about what happens if you post about something that was gifted for you in exchange for a paid promotion. What happens when people decide to become keyboard warriors in your comments and the competitive nature of blogging and social media in general. Obviously we know that this will date but I spend so much of my time online I want to read about this so thank you to Louise Emma Clarke for showing this in your books and really helping us feel like we are not alone with those Instagram algorithms.

I loved this book and really recommend it. Make sure you’ve read book one first though!

This was a sweet, light-hearted read that focused on motherhood and blogging. I think I expected more from the story and it was quite predictable at times, but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless and I'd love to read more from this author.

Jess has it all. A handsome husband, an adorable toddler daughter, a new baby on the way, and a loyal circle of friends. At least, that’s the way she portrays her life in her successful blog “Letters to my Daughter.” In Mum’s Big Break, Louise Emma Clarke pulls the curtain back and shows what really goes into the making of a career as a blogger.

Without too much work, Jess blog has picked up almost 100,000 followers. After a misstep with rules concerning sponsored blogs, her friend suggests she find an agent. Things really pick up when a top agent signs on to represent her. There are gifts of baby clothes, trips to country homes and spas and scheduled appearances. Now Jess has to decide how much time she is willing to take away from her family. A new opportunity may make her famous but will it be worth it?

Mum’s Big Break is a quick, fun read. I enjoyed getting to know Jess, her family and friends. After the ending with its promise of more to come, I am really looking forward to Louise Emma Clarke’s next book! 5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley, Aria and Louise Emma Clarke for this ARC.

A light and easy read, fun and I read it in one sitting. Jess is a likeable character who is trying to turn her blog into her career, but needs to consider how it’s going to affect those around her. My first read of Louise’s work and I feel there was probably some of her life experience reflected in Jess, which is probably why it is so relatable and so realistic. Enjoyable and entertaining, I will definitely be reading more by Louise.

A delightful tale - and perfect for anyone who wants to turn their blog into a business.

Jess is a mummy blogger; having shared her experiences on the internet she has built up quite the following, but with success comes pitfalls - and the realisation that for all the supporters cheering you on there is always someone just as happy to do you down. As she progresses towards opportunity to turn her blogging into a career, Jess has to consider not only herself but her daughter, her husband and the new baby she carries.

Reading the author's bio, I suspect there is more than a little truth in this book - well, don't they say to write about what you know? Louise Emma Clarke writes in an easy, flowing manner which is both easy to read and entertaining. With a cast of realistic characters and plenty going on, this is a very pleasant read indeed. A good second novel and one I enjoyed. I love the bright cover! Definitely worth all four stars.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley, and to Vicky Joss for my spot on this tour; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

This is a light quick read about the perils of becoming a mommy blogger. Jess started small but then she got popular, which is a good thing except that she's got a lot on her plate, especially now that she's pregnant. She's also lost a little perspective on life, letting the whole social media thing take over. That said, she's also got a good husband (and he's understandably a bit exasperated at times), good friends, and even a nemesis in Tiggy. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Nicely written, no real hardships, and a few chuckles made this a good one for a quarantine day.

This was a fun look into the crazy world of mommy bloggers. It had me laughing and cringing along with the characters. It was an easy lighthearted read, perfect to space between a couple thrillers. I can imagine the stuff that happens in this book is very close to real life. Women can be mean and vicious!.
I really enjoyed each of the characters, they brought something different to the story which I feel made it that much better. I highly recommend this book if you need a change of pace or just want a good laugh.

I really enjoyed this story and thought it was an quick, easy, fun read. I did not know it was a sequel until after I started, but it didn't matter really and I got caught up pretty quick. I thought the story flowed really well and enjoyed reading about what Jess goes through with her rival with piggy, her pregnancy emotions (good and bad) and continuing her success on her blog. The story kept me entertained until the end!

I've been excited about this book since I first heard about it, and it did not disappoint. The characters sucked you into the story and the story kept you turning pages as fast as you could. I devoured it in a day. I loved it.

I read the first book about Jess and loved it - my only complaint was that it didn't show the really hard work that many bloggers have to put in before reaching those levels of success!

This second book did not disappoint! I really love the characters in this book and I found it SO relatable as a blogger myself - from trolls to cliques to navigating a life alongside blogging, as well as as a mum who is pregnant with her second child.

The book was a really 'easy' read and I would definitely recommend it to other women - mums and bloggers alike! I do think that you would need to read the first book before this one as it gives you a much better understanding of Jess and the other characters. The blurb doesn't mention this and I think reading this without having read the first would do it an injustice.

Jess is a blogger over at 'Letters to my Daughter'; her first year in blogging ending in her winning an award and in the process making a bit of a nemesis of fellow "mummy blogger" Tiggy. Mum's Big Break follows Jess as her blog continues to grow and more opportunities come her way, all while juggling her second pregnancy.

I did download this without realising it was a sequel so I spent the first third(ish) of the book feeling like I couldn't connect to Jess and that her friends/family/fellow bloggers were all being introduced very quickly with very little context so readers of book one will probably enjoy this a lot more.

The format was a bit of a mixture of blog post and continuation of the story; each chapter starts with Jess' blog metrics and then the latest letter she's posted before carrying on with the plot, I quite enjoyed the mixed media style as you got an insight into the persona Jess is putting out online as well as when she's with her friends/family.

Overall this was a great piece of escapism, quite light-hearted and easy going. If you've read and enjoyed book one then I'd recommend picking this up as you'll probably connect with Jess a bit more than I did.

This captures the trials and struggles of a blogger mum perfectly. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and laughed out loud on a number of occasions

A cute, light, fun read! Highly recommended if you are pregnant to your second child or as a gift to a friend who is expecting her second child, as the author's "Letters to My Daughter" are priceless and so moving!

I wish I had of read Louise’s first book before now but it’s still on my huge TBR pile. Anyhow it didn’t matter too much as I felt ‘Mum’s Big Break’ can be read on its own.

Jessicia is a mummy blogger who just started out a year ago but already has an award under her belt! Much to the dismay of blogger rival Tiggy. Whilst being pregnant with her second child, Jess is a hardworking mum who wants to make her blog an even bigger success. I guess I relate so much to the parenting side of the story which is one of the reasons I really wanted to read it. You can tell that the author has experience of both the highs and lows of pregnancy and parenting. I love how Jess writes letters to both her children at the beginning of each chapter this gave the story a very personal and relatable approach. There is also a massive sense of friendship with Jess and her best friends. They are always supportive of her even when her husband isn’t so much. They all have each other’s backs day or night.

The narrative flowed freely allowing me to finish this realistic story in just a few days. It’s a story about friendship (or lack of in the blogging community) love, and the knowledge that your big break could just be around the corner ❤️ I give ‘Mum’s Big Break’ 5*/5* 😊 I also can’t wait to read Louise’s first book and any future work she creates!

Thank you to Aria Fiction for an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.

Jessica happens to be a pregnant mom blogger building up her following in the blogiverse while managing her toddler, she has a supportive circle of friends and a caring husband.

She also has an arch nemesis, Tiggy who is also a very successful mom blogger.

Amidst all the chaos of life, this story is about Jessica blogging her life as letters to her kids.

A very casual read but lacks any real story content.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Okay so was this a sequel? It should tell you something that I can’t answer that. This book had little glimmers here and there. A funny quip or well executed joke were sprinkled very sparingly throughout these pages. But I was confused with the MC’s backstory. It lacked depth and flow.

I enjoyed this book, though I’m not sure if it’s a sequel and reading the first may have helped understand Jess’s back story. The storyline doesn’t go too deeply into anything, but it was fun and funny, with some problems thrown in. The friendships are lovely and a lot of it was relatable. I think I’ll be looking for others by this author.
Thank you to netgalley, the publishers and the author for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
