I love the cover of this novel and the inside. "Rachael's Return" is an suspenseful novel by Janet Rebhan. A page turner for sure.

A bit of a mystery with quite a bit of the supernatural thrown in....the story of an unborn child who doesn’t make it into the world but whose soul transitions to another body. Heavenly guides are watching, doing what they can to make sure the baby has a peaceful life despite having a violent start at life. An okay story, tended to be a bit confusing at times.

A novel idea, but not for me I’m afraid. I loved the concept and the spiritual nature of the book, but I just found it went a bit odd at times and rather than being about soulmates, instead became a book about angels and another realm full of souls and lots of other things that were a bit too far outside of my realm of interest.

Disclaimer - I was fortunate enough to be provided with an advance reading copy of this book by NetGalley. This has not affected my review in any way, and all opinions are my own.

I thought the underlying story of this book was powerful, but ended up feeling that this book was just a way to indoctrinate others with the author's beliefs. I had to read this book in spurts because it was just extremely dull and drug on and on. I wanted to find out if Caroline and Rachel are returned to one another. I would recommend this book for people that are obsessed with reincarnation and the heavenly realm. This was not for me. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

This novel weaves a tale that combines a bit of suspense, fantasy, and some mysticism that will draw you in right from the start.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I was pleasantly surprised.  It takes a small circle of characters and some souls watching down over circumstances and creates a story that will keep you on edge and captivate you.  It also brings to mind the six degrees of separation and how small this world really is with the interactions of the various characters and how each character touched another character's life in some way or another - through friendship, a chance encounter, or in a hospital room together.

The story flips back and forth from the various character's viewpoints - this includes those on earth and the souls in heaven or some other plane.  Thor and Aurora are two of the souls that are watching over Caroline and Rachael.  There is only so much they can do and I found it interesting that those on earth have to pray and ask for help before they can give it, or at least on their level.

I enjoyed the soulmates aspect and how some souls are bound together for all eternity and the lengths they will go to so that they remain in each other's lives in some respect.  There is even a flashback to an event that happened in the mid 1800s that reflects the determination for Caroline and Rachael's souls to remain together.

This was a different book than I was expecting but I thoroughly enjoyed the story and how it worked out in the end.  I almost didn't want the story to end!

We give this book 4 paws up.

Rachel's Return tells the story of Caroline, who loses her unborn daughter during a routine hysterectomy. Caroline shares her hospital room with Mary Anne, who is also pregnant and has been shot by her boyfriend. Caroline's daughter's soul wonders whether she could return to life via Mary Anne's baby.

This was an interesting read, definitely something different from other books I have been reading lately. I approached it with an open mind and I am so glad I did. The novel explores themes of death, afterlife and reincarnation in a beautiful way. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who is curious about spiritual themes or just wants a delightful little read that will cheer them up.

Disclosure: I would like to thank the publisher for my advanced reader copy of the book. This is my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and She Writes Press for the arc of Rachael's Return by Janet Rebhan.❤️

Thank you to Janet Rebhan for writing this chilling book.❤️❤️

This follows A woman named Caroline who has a great life, a devoting husband who loves her to bits, 2 boys who have almost grown. But thing that shes always wanted is a daughter to complete their family she dreams of this but a hysterectomy brings that to a halt/stops that dream. Caroline was actually expecting a baby but an unfortunate clerical error has let the hysterectomy go as planned unfortunately...

In the hospital while she is in recovery she is placed in a room with a pregnant lady whos abusive husband has shot her...😱😱😱..... we then meet a whole cast of souls aka angels and who actually help her have a bond with her daughter in which was meant to be..

This is so gripping, I read it so fast, i thoroughly enjoyed this so much, I will most definitely re read in the future

This was much better than I thought it was going to ne and many unexpected topics like abuse, reincarnation, and angels but it was also well written even though the story was not plausible, I still loved it. I think everyone what happens to them in the afterlife regardless of the way of they die and if their death affects where they end up. This story was more about the souls going to some other higher realm of goodness and taking in of new souls but still communicating with those still living. Fate and destiny are two other concepts that are a focus in this book.

I would call this more of a fantasy mystery than a thriller and a new author that I definitely want to read more from in the future. Not your usual thriller/mystery but still interesting to me. I read this in two days. Highly recommended and cant wait for a hard copy to own.

Thanks to Netgalley, Janet Rebhan and She Writes Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book without any expectations but BOOM, it turned out to be SO good. I'm so in love with the plot, the writing, the characters and just everything. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say destiny and fate plays a large roll in the underlying theme of this book.
It was a fast read for me, because it kept me interested and wanting more.
Highly highly recommended.

I liked the concept of this book, flicking between what I took to be angels and humans.

It's not hugely my cup of tea but I enjoyed the idea and the relationships between to angels and then flicking to the human aspect of relationships.

I liked the excitement of it all and the what ifs. I was constantly wondering who will get the baby and it was a book to get stuck into.

I loved this book, the concept, the storyline and Caroline.
It deals with tender issues of abuse, loss, escape, being alone.

What a surprisingly delightful read. I was not expecting this book to touch on topics such as the afterlife, soul mates, and reincarnation. but it all worked out and was put together nicely.
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say destiny and fate plays a large roll in the underlying theme of this book.
It was a fast read for me, because it kept me interested and wanting more. If Rachael were to return in another book, I would be sure to read that also@

"Rachael's Return" is pretty odd. It becomes apparent quite quickly that the story is taking place in two different realms: the obvious life on Earth and the realm of the higher souls who are able to guide their proteges or connected soulmates in their Earthly existence. Yes, psychobabble reigns supreme here. It's a tale of spirits reconnecting through the eons, protecting and loving, nurturing and caring in an ever-upward graph of development towards some kind of Nirvana.

Well, obviously I hated it and despised the simplistic idealism and the predictable plotting. And yet... somehow, I got drawn in despite myself. Grudgingly, I will admit I rather enjoyed it, although I'm hard pressed to explain why. If you believe in the theory of reincarnation, of aspiring towards a higher "vibration", this is perfect for you. It hasn't convinced me of the spiritual ideas behind the story, but at the same time, I certainly don't believe this sort of thought-process is harmful. There's a simple narrative underpinning the story arc and if you're looking for an undemanding "happy" read, this is well worth trying out.

Whilst I thought this story about Domestic Violence, fostering, coincidences and the coming together of souls I had a problem in as much as the story simply wasn’t plausible. I also felt that the story was highly predictable. All in light reading.
