I greatly enjoyed this book, thank you for giving me a preview copy. The plot was interesting and fast paced and I sympathised with the characters. This is the first novel I have read by this author but I hope it will not be the last!

This is a story of three friends. They have been friends since childhood and are still inseparable. They are all married with families and are known in the community as ‘The Silkies’. Their friendship is then tested when a tragic accident happens and hidden secrets and lies are revealed. This is a book that you won’t be able to put down as the story unfolds. A highly recommended read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

With a title like that, I wanted to know more about the strory. It made me quite curious. The story was a twisty read with deceptions and secrets. The characters were many and family dynamics were confusing initially, but the book soon exploded as pages turned.
An intriguing read

Melissa and her two friends Rachel and Jenny have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Melissa and Jenny were inseparable as children and then Rachel came along while they were at school and joined their duo making it a triad. In their small community, these three are looked up to and have been put on a pedestal - they even have their nickname the Silkies. Everyone dreams of being one of them, but they are happy in their bubble or are they? One day, Rachel calls Melissa to set up a kayaking trip for her and Jenny's family. Melissa asks to come along, but Rachel wants to talk to Jenny alone and tells her she will make it up to her and explain everything. Melissa thinks it's odd but agrees. While out on the kayaking trip though, bad weather rolls in and some of the kayaks end up capsizing. Most get hurt, but one of them doesn't return home - Jenny. Melissa hears the news and rushes to the hospital to learn her friends are injured and dead. As the weeks will roll on through the friends will discover deep dark secrets that were hidden from one another and the cracks will start to show and make the town wonder if Melissa and Rachel are guilty and that the Silkies weren't as tight as they were made out to be. Included in Friends Don't Lie is the second storyline of Melissa's sister Hannah's death that happened over thirty years and the next door Angela's obsession with the case and Melissa. Friends Don't Lie was a good mystery novel that kept me intrigued from the very first page.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would strongly recommend it.
I really liked this authors writing style, which very quickly and easily drew the reader into the lives of a group of friends known as “The Silkies” in the small town of Milford.
As events unfold, cracks appear and questions are raised about family, friends and loyalties.
This is the first novel I have read by Cath Weeks but I will definitely be looking out for more.
This book kept me gripped, the storyline progressed at a good pace, with a clever plot which kept me guessing. Highly recommended and a well deserved 5 stars from me.

A book about friendship, the ties that bind us and misplaced loyalties!
The silkies are a group of three couple and their families who are the envy of the neighbourhood and well known in the community!
When a fatal accident occurs killing a female member of the group, friendships, loyalty and integrity are strained and accusations are made resulting in disparity and strained relationships! Nothing will ever be the same again as the reader is taken on a journey of discovery and realisation!
A good read for those who enjoy domestic thrillers!
Thank you net galley for this early read.
