2nd novel of Karen’s that I’d read and enjoyed as much as the first. Great storyline and intrigue throughout. Had me guessing as to the guilty party for quite a while.

This was another gripping read by a very talented author. The book was thrilling from the begin, and I did not see the ending coming! Highly recommended, can't wait for the next one!

A nice comfortable read that will invoke the character's feelings inside you with every emotion. Very well written. I like the fact that even though it hints at the ending there's actually many twists and turns that it keeps you guessing.

Jessica has returned from Spain after her relationship broke down and she suffered some mental health issues. For the time being she is living back at home with her parents in Aylesbury. Unfortunately, Jean, Jessica’s mother, has Alzheimer’s and flits between reality and fantasy, although Jessica is not always sure which is which. Whilst sitting with her mother, not long after she returns Jean says she saw someone push their neighbour over the window ledge to her death, however this tragic event has already been investigated and confirmed as a suicide. Jessica is convinced there’s something going on across their close and she needs to find out exactly what happened to poor Kate Chandry.
Yet another fabulously weaved psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat right till the end. Karen Cole has a wonderful ability to turn stories in directions you weren’t quite expecting always ensures for a great read.

What a twist this book is. It grabbed me from the first page, full of secrets, and lies. Lots of suprises and interesting how Jess's family gets pulled into the saga from next door. I look forward to reading more of Karens books.

This was a good psychological thriller, but a bit too slow for me. Overall, I thought it was well written and realistic. It had the twists and turns, thrills, chills, and shocks, but more in that slow burn style that some utilize. Overall, I think if you’re looking for a psycho kid gal thriller that isn’t too disturbing, this is definitely a good choice. I would recommend to those who do not need fast paced excitement throughout.

Jessica returns home to help care for her mother, Jean. Jean has dementia and her father is struggling to look after her and her brother, Howie, is busy with his own life and family. Jessica is struggling with her mental health and trying to balance it with caring for her mum. Soon things her mum says aren’t adding up and Jessica is determined to find out the truth about her family.
I love Karen’s books and this was no exception. The story was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I can sum up this book in two words… Rear Window.

This is a modern day telling of Hitchcock’s Rear Window. In this case Jean has Dementia and swears she sees the neighbor being murdered by her husband but, of course, her daughter doesn’t believe it until the clues start making sense and Jessica needs to find out the truth.

The story was ok but I just kept thinking how much this was like the movie. I think the book was fine just not what I hoped it would be.

My first book by this author, I was pulled in by the mystery and intrigue that one statement uttered in the state of dementia.

Jessica's mother murmured one line about seeing a murder, and that started the ball rolling. The characters were quite well etched. I wanted the pace to be slightly slow, but I soon found myself engrossed in the story.

Wanting to know the truth had me tapping my kindle until the end. Quite a fun read.

I read all of Karen Cole books as soon as I can cos I know I’m in for a rollercoaster of a psychological thriller. Deny Me is no different and delivers a dark, uncomfortable story of mental health, lies and secrets as Jessica and her mother strive for the truth in a fog of uncertainty. As I was reading this, I deeply felt the tension and trauma building to a completely soul destroying unexpected, and debilitating ending. Another great addition to the ME series!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

This is my first read by this author. I thought it was an average slow burner of a read, and one that didn’t really thrill or wow me. I didn’t really like or take to the main character and found the book very predictable. It did hold my attention, although I felt like I wanted and expected more after reading it’s premise.

Jessica left a bad relationship and is staying with her parents until she gets herself in a position to find her own place. Her mom has been diagnosed with dementia ..leaving her confused a lot of the time.

One night at dinner, Jessica's mom comes out with a statement that unnerves her. She states she saw her next door neighbor killing his wife by pushing her out of the upstairs window. True ... the neighbor's wife did die exactly like that, but it was investigated and found to be an accident.

Her mom now fears for her own life. Did she really see a murder ... or is this just confusion associated with dementia?

Jessica wants to know the truth, but she can't possibly prepare herself for what she'll find...

Solidly woven plot with skillfully drawn characters makes this psychological thriller a real page turner. There are twists and turns that lead to a terrifying unexpected ending. This was the first I've read of this author ... it won't be the last.

Many thanks to the author / Quercus Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this captivating psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This was an interesting and quick read, centered on Jessica, who moves home with her parents after a breakup while she figures out what she wants to do next. Her mother is in the early stages of dementia and what she says cannot be fully trusted, but she says something about their neighbor murdering his wife, whose death had been ruled an accidental fall, and Jessica can't bring herself to stop looking into it.

Jessica was unapologetic about her previous mental issues, which I found refreshing, and gave her an authenticity when she questioned her own conclusions. The book gives you a twist that I saw coming, but then additional twists later that surprised me. The book moves at a fast pace- I finished it in one sitting.

Overall, I'd recommend this for those who like the domestic suspense genre. I would be interested in reading additional books by Karen Cole.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The you to #Netgalley and Quercus for an advanced copy of Deny Me by Karen Cole.

There is little more that I love than a really great thriller, but unfortunately this book isn't great. It's good, but I just didn't care about the main character Jessica, I felt no connection to her, so I just finished the book to finish the book.

The premise is great, Jessica has just left a troubled relationship and moved back home with her parents. Her mother has dementia and tells her the neighbour killed his wife, but is this fact or fabrication? Jessica just can't seem to shake the thought that it's true.

I'm giving this one 3 stars.

I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jam packed full of secrets, shocking revelations and a fascinating mystery; this book definitely had me captivating from the very beginning.
I instantly took to Jessica, and I found myself constantly guessing what was going to happen next!
The reveal may of been a tiny bit less shocking than the rest of the book, but I still would highly recommend this one!
A perfectly-paced, twisty thriller that is absolutely a must-read! Can't wait for this author's next!
