I did not care for this title. It felt more hokie than informative, not really giving me what I felt would be needed to actually utilize a "moon fix".

I would like to thank Quarto Publishing Group - White Lion Publishing for providing me with a free – temporary – electronic ARC of this book, via Netgalley. Although I required their approval, the decision to read this book is my choice and any reviews given are obligation free.

Great new! This is a book I’ve actually just spent the last week reading, rather than it being one I read months back and am just reviewing now. Not so great news, I wasn’t exactly a fan of ‘The Moon Fix’ and so there is going to be a lot of constructive criticism within my review. PLEASE don’t take it personally Ms Cheung; I’m simply trying to provide an open and honest review as to why this book wasn’t for me. I’m not saying it was necessarily a bad book, just not a book I found enjoyable.

I’ll start with the positives. I did feel the author’s true spiritual connection with the moon. And I did find the brief information on moon phases and astrological sign’s connection interesting. And there was a tonne of good, inspirational belief work within the book too. Lots I could see as a good reference book for later. So, please realise the information is there.

I personally just didn’t connect to the book. And when it comes to faith based information, I really need to feel a connection to feel I can get something positive from it. And the reason I didn’t connect really comes down to a few things.

Firstly, I found the writing a little too preachy for me. It came across, to me, as if Ms Cheung was lecturing me as to how I should feel, act, and do things in relation to the moon. I’m a solitary and, although I seek guidance and inspiration from others, I don’t respond well to being told how I should follow my faith. So this condescending tone was just a little too jarring for me.

Then there were the pictures. They weren’t really photographs, as they were so completely over edited. So let’s call them arty pictures. I found them very fake and artificial, and so again felt disconnected from the teachings of ‘The Moon Fix’. When you take a photo and over edited like that, it looks fake. And if you’re trying to teach a spiritual thing to someone, the last thing I want to do is be surrounded by fake.

Finally there was just the stark, aesthetic layout. Smallish pictures, huge stark white backgrounds, blocks of words. To me, this gave the book a very sterile and harsh feel… not something I’m looking for in a book of spiritual connection and belief.
And that’s basically it… ‘The Moon Fix’ has some potentially good, and useful, information that I would otherwise enjoy learning, trying, and incorporating into my personal beliefs and routine. But its formatting, layout and overly fake looking pictures just failed to help me to connect and want to learn from it. I’m sorry, I’m sure there are people who prefer to learn with this style, and good on them. At least they are learning something positive and self-healing. But, for me, I just could not connect, could not let my spiritual side get inspired by it all.

Would I recommend this book to others?

Sadly I wouldn’t. ‘The Moon Fix’ comes across as a sterile and stern book that isn’t about letting people learn how to connect with the powers of the moon, but rather be told how they should do it.

Would I buy this book for myself?

No I wouldn’t. If I don’t connect with a book of this type, I just can’t see myself needing it in my life or in my book collections. But I really want to emphasise that this is a personal choice. Just because ‘The Moon Fix’ wasn’t for me, it doesn’t make it a bad book. It just means it was not the book for me.

In summary: A book on how to make a more spiritual connection with the moon.

First the art and photographs in this book are absolutely stunning ! it is very visually enjoyable with outstanding artwork inclusive to each area of the book . As I read through the book I appreciated the time the author took to include rituals we can do at home. There is sufficient information here on harnessing your Goddess energy and using the moon cycles to enhance your femininity and your life rituals. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. This is a very informative and enjoyable read.

The Moon Fix is a quick, interesting read regarding the moon & its metaphysical/spiritual aspects. As a moon lover I found this book to be helpful as it provided a lot of information about the moon & tools/ideas to work with the moon. The author provides a lot of background info, very helpful rituals for many different topics, & it even includes recipes! The pictures in this book are also very beautiful & inspiring when trying to connect with the moon.

For those who already have knowledge in moon phases/basics. More of having rituals and some recipes. The images I am not a fan of a whole lot. There is information to consider and a jump-off point to further research.

A nice book introducing the reader to the Moon and its power, how to use its energy and different rituals one can perform regardless of their beliefs or spirituality journey. It was really enjoyable, with great pictures too.

This little 170 page title was one that I would recommend to those who are just starting out and are looking for an overview of all things dealing with the moon. If you are looking for something that is in-depth then this is not the book for you.

Good beginner book. Introduction to harnessing the moon’s power while working with the phases of the moon.

First let me say I know nothing about moon rituals. So I was really excited to read this book! Let’s just say i don’t get it. The verbiage in the book put me off a little bit when I took it as speaking down to other spiritual approaches. However it had a ton of amazing rituals and step by step guidance to see the way through this new experience. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I've alvays been interested in astrology and this book seemed quite interesting for me. In it, you get to explore how powerful the moon can be and how useful it can be in our daily lives if one knows how to take advantage of its power. In this book, lots of mantras and rituals are very briefly explained, and it doesn't go into much detail about it. Definitely a very straight to the point book. The illustrations inside were gorgeous and a nice touch.

A good introduction to the theme, well written and full of amazing illustrations.
Recommended to beginners.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

A good introductory piece to those interested on the subject. The images are absolutely gorgeous! A beautiful and useful book, though not for anyone who wants in-depth analysis of things.

This book has some great potential. The author shares about her own personal connection with the moon and provides a variety of rituals for readers to obtain a deeper connection for themselves. The conversational style of the book is very inviting and easy to follow. Many of the images are beautiful and do add something visual and mystical to the text. However, the sheer number of images seems excessive. The two-page spreads in particular seem like pure filler and don't contribute anything desirable to the book. I would prefer to see some genuine pictures of the moon in a book about connecting with the moon.

The Moon Fix is a beautiful little book that provides great information for readers on how to harness the moon's power in all its phases and draw some of that energy into their own lives.

This is a beautiful Moon 101 guide that contains associations for different phases, rituals and spells, and information on crystals, oils, and candles. It's all laid out in an accessible way and with gorgeous illustrations that make this a great gift or book to use and display in your own home .

Many thanks to Net Galley and White Lion Publishing for the advance copy.

The Moon Fix is a short but informative book of how to work with the moon for spiritual guidance, manifestations, magic, etc. This book is a quick guide and does not go into much depth, so I would recommend to it to those that are new to the practice or need a refresher on the basics. There are stunning photos throughout the book that were really a nice surprise.

Thank you White Lion Publishing and NetGalley for the e-ARC!

A beautifully illustrated book on harnessing the energies and power of the moon. It is best suited for beginners as the information on the moon is very basic. The rituals and meditations try to cover a wide area so you will only be interested in some of them. It is a book that would be good as a gift rather than as an in depth reference on the subject. More of a feel good book for dipping into.

Small intro to the moon, its phases, and thoughts on how it may influence areas of our lives. Over half the book was little rituals or meditations you can do for certain manifestations which was a little disappointing, would have liked to have had a more in depth review of everything instead. Design and illustrations were absolutely stunning.

eARC provided by White Lion Publishing via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Beautifully presented and a good entry point for anyone who is interested in the moon. I would say this is definitely for beginners, but could also appeal to more seasoned Lunar enthusiasts as a reference for recipes/spells etc. However even they were fairly basic.
