It's been a while since I last read a Kelly Rimmer book and I'd forgot how good they really are. This was a beautifully written story about four siblings that are facing the death of their beloved father. The story is told in two timelines, the past and the present involving the family and the secrets that were buried years ago. Such a touching raw read that I really enjoyed.

I greatly enjoyed this book, thank you for giving me a preview copy. The plot was interesting and fast paced and I sympathised with the characters. This is the first novel I have read by this author but I hope it will not be the last!

Truths I Never Told You was another great book by Kelly Rimmer. I could not put it down told by the perspectives of three narrators. A sensitive subject, more common than some would imagine but handled very well.

Brilliant. I am a huge fan of Kelly Rimmer's books and this one did not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed the story that was interwoven through the generations and through the characters. A very poignant storyline that easily flowed for the story to unfold.

Highly recommended to all.

Thank you Headline and NetGalley.

It took a long while to get into this story, which alternates between two generations suffering from post-natal depression and the elderly patriarch with advanced dementia However, once the links become more obvious and the mystery starts to unravel, the book becomes addictive. The story unfolds gradually and reaches a most satisfactory ending.

What a brilliant book. The three main characters are all very real relatable women.
Heart-wrenching at times, and tears through the dementia descriptions. I can't recommend this enough

I was disappointed with this book. There were too many threads into woven to keep up accurately with the story, and I got a bit lost after a while. I have read all of Kelly’s other books, and this was not the best one. If you are trying her for the first time you would be advised to start with one of the others! Still looking forward to the next book though.

ell I am completely and utterly speechless, there are just no words to explain how amazing beautiful and emotional this book is.

I absolutely loved this book, the story was so heartfelt and emotional, I just could not put it down. I always have a weakness for books that have dual timeline storyline involved and this one truly hit the spot, two stories, one in the past in 1958 and one in the present in 1996.

I loved how the story was told by the three main characters Grace in the past, Maryanne in the past and then Beth in the present, as it really gives the story depth and different viewpoints. You truly got a feel for both of the characters, seeing how they coped and the experiences/events they had to go through.

It was all very well written throughout, the story was addictive, making you want to turn those pages quickly to see how things would develop and what would happen next.

If you haven't read any of this authors books yet, then don't delay. I can't recommend this book enough.

This is a story told in two time lines. Grace and Beth both suffered from post natal depression and this emotional book tells how things have changed over the years. A well written story that requires tissues while reading. Kelly Rimmer at her best

What a beautifully written book the Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer was. All her books I have read have been beautifully written and I've loved every single one of them This new book by Kelly is absolutely gripping, and is heartbreaking that's full of love with lots of family secrets. I was hooked within the first few pages. But, then again I'm always hooked when I open my kindle and start to read Kelly's books.

I will advise you have a box of tissues handy as this book can get very emotional in parts.

I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for sending my this Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the promise of this book from the moment I read the bio and despite having never read anything by Kelly Rimmer before I just knew I would enjoy it.

This book is narrated by three main characters, Grace (The Mother), Beth (The Daughter) & Maryanne (The Sister / Aunt) over two main time periods of 1958 & 1996.

For me this story is about family, how lies and illness can affect family relationships and what happens when you discover that your life and upbringing maybe isn’t all it once seemed.

There are a number of triggers for me in this book (although they didn’t affect me directly) including Altzeimers, post natal depression and abortion, so potential readers may want to bear this in mind.

This book have me a real insight into understanding what life was like for women in the 1950’s. Before it was considered acceptable for married mothers to have a career, contraception was more widely available and post natal depression was better understood! It certainly challenged some of my own thoughts on these topics! There was a number of times this book took a bit of a turn and surprised me.

My only slight criticism would be that I felt the ending of the book was a little too rushed! I wasn’t left with any unanswered questions, it’s just the whole book seemed to be wrapped up in the final chapter and the epilogue, which after twenty chapters of story building just felt a bit quick and left me a bit deflated!

Overall I did really enjoy his book with my final rating being a solid 4⭐️ and a book that I would definitely recommend!

What a brilliant book. I was gripped by this story and the turns that the story took.
The book is narrated by three characters who are all very real relatable women. Beth who has finally got her dream baby after a long struggle with infertility but finds that the reality of a baby is more challenging and struggling with her mental health. Her mother’s story also features of her difficulties of 4 young children and her life in the 60s and her sister.
Brilliant book. Heart wrenching at times, I cried although the dementia descriptions were close to home. I really recommend this and thank you to Netfalley for giving me the opportunity to read this. I will definitely be looking out for Kelly Rimmers other books.

Firstly I want to say what an honour it is for me to review another Kelly Rimmer novel pre-publication. I have always been a massive fan of her lyrical writing right from the very first book of hers that I read. This one was equally terrific but I must say it totally captured my heart as I really identified with her leading characters. Kelly Rimmer, you have surpassed yourself once again with this new novel. Thank you for this charming and exciting story.
There are three female narrators spanning two time frames in this novel. They are called Grace, her sister Maryanne and Grace’s youngest daughter Beth. Beth is my favourite character and as the story starts she is having problems settling into motherhood. She feels that the only thing she has managed to get right is breastfeeding Noah. At the same time as that she and her three siblings are clearing out their Dad’s loft at the family home ready to sell, Grace stumbles on some emotional confessions from her mother, and from then on the story is ignited further by a discovery that they have an Aunt Maryanne, who none of them have ever heard of.
Grace’s story is mainly told by the confessions she wrote and left behind when she passed away, leaving her devastated husband with four children, all pre-schoolers. Some of her story was told by anecdotal comments and later by the sibling’s Aunt Maryanne, a forward thinking academic with a burning desire to improve the world for females.
The wonderful, absorbing storytelling and the wide range of interesting characters held me captive throughout this novel. I loved the theme of deeply buried family secrets and the meticulous research Kelly undertook to authentically tell the stories of these three women who all had secrets of their own and that played such a major role in unravelling this story. It was stuffed full with suspense, shocking twists and a gloriously unexpected but gorgeous ending. I also liked the way she was able to use her knowledge about dementia and the history of the times so effectively. She is definitely a leading author in the genre of Women’s Fiction.
I received this novel through my membership of NetGalley and from publisher Review in return for an honest review. Thank you so much for my copy. These are my own thoughts and I have read no other reviews before writing my own. This is a gem of a novel. I was so happy to receive my copy and couldn’t wait to start reading this compelling story.

‘Loneliness is worse than sadness. I’ve come to realize that’s because loneliness, by its very definition, cannot be shared.’ Was there ever a truer sentence?
Another excellent read from a brilliant author. So well written.
