This is a moving and heartbreaking account of a history many of us find hard to understand living in a time of less judgement and freedom.
The Paper Bracelet begins with the harsh reality of children/women becoming pregnant and being shamed into moving to a home to pay for their sins of pregnancy before marriage.
Katie who is now 70 and widowed confides in her niece about her time of working In the home and how she kept many of the paper bracelets used to identify the babies plus who notebook detailing the mothers.
Soon Katie and her niece are working together to reunite the babies with their bracelets and birth mothers.
I loved the characters and the back stories. I could not put it down! Highly recommend.

I certainly wasn’t expecting the amount of emotion held within this book, Based on true events the level of sympathy shown by the author is amazing. A very well worth while read.

I absolutely loved this book. The story was amazing, I nearly finished it in one sitting. Katie the main character is so likeable that you warm to the story with her. I would highly recommend this book especially as you read about how Ireland was 50 yrs ago.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. Very interesting concept for a book. Some of the middle was slow going for me, but it was great watching people reach out and find their birth parents. Some surprises along the way with some pretty good happy feelings at the end. Love the cover!
