Sarah J. Maas is a very popular author!

We all looked forward to this book and this first preview made me want to continue reading.

By the way, the paper edition is really wonderful.

I need to get to the full book, what I read has been amazing so far! I have never read a Maas book that I haven't liked, so I wasn't really surprised that I was liking this book so much!

An absolutely incredible snippet from a book that I later purchased and loved, laughed at, cried at, blushed at, and obsessed over. I should tell you that I’m already a Sarah J Maas fangirl, I’ve read everything she’s written twice over (or 88763235789986 times in Rhysands case) but this was exactly what I wanted, needed and live for. SJM could write out the alphabet and somehow have me on the edge of my seat, in tears or staying up until 4am until I’m done. Ive never given w 5 star review because nothing has ever matched her standard, but there you go!

Loved the extract so much that I bought the finished copy of the book. Her writing has evolved so much from her debut and it looks like she has a talent for writing fantasy for adults as well. The World building seems on spot. I am looking forward to continue with this story.

As usual, Sarah J Maas will have another best seller! Just reading the excerpt has me excited! 🖤 It starts out with great character introduction and sets the scene for a great new fantasy novel!

I'm a huge Sarah J Maas fan but was really disappointed by the opening of Crescent City. I'd been excited by the promise that this was Sarah's first adult fantasy, but the only difference I could find was that there were frequent references to drug taking and sex. To me that's Seth Rogen's understanding of being an adult. I expected more of SJM.
The main character is extremely vain and irritating. It felt like it hadn't been vetted by an editor. There was such a huge information dump in these chapters it was virtually unreadable.
I pre-ordered the book when it was announced, but after reading this extract I've been reluctant to start it. I normally binge read SJM's books the minute I get them. I've been assured by fellow Maas fans that it gets better, so I'm going to read Crescent City despite my misgivings. If I wasn't already a Maas fan and had received this extract I wouldn't bother reading the book.

I have never read a Sarah J Maas book but have heard how much people enjoy them. I have absolutely loved this extract. I love the world she has created and already feel totally invested with her characters. This is especially amazing as we have only had access to the first few chapters. Can't wait to read the rest! I'm giving it 5* as I can't see how I'll be giving it anything else!

As a huge fan of Sarah J. Maas, I've been excited for the release of this title. The extract really pulled me in and made it so that I can't wait to pick up a copy!

I've been a big fan of Sarah J Maas for a while, especially her ACOTAR series, so I was delighted to see that she had a new release coming out. Since reading the extract, I've seen it appear on many of the book blogs I follow and it seems to be getting great reviews from her loyal fans, not that I am surprised considering how I enthralled I was just by the short extract. Will definitely be purchasing a copy of this to read the full thing.

Loved the excerpt. Fascinating world-building and an absolute must for lovers of quirky fantasy!

Wow that cliffhanger! I did think that the start of the book was a little slow but I really got into it around chapter four. I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

I can't tell whether or not I love it or I'm not sure about it! Giving it a 4 for now & hopefully get it out of the library when it reopens!

Best book of the year so far! I loved the world-building as well as the character development. There is also plenty of Sarah J Maas’ legendary smut!

Wildly excited to read the rest of this. As a first time Sarah J Mass reader (I know, I know....) I'm absolutely gripped by the story immediately and I'm absolutely in love with Bryce. The world was fascinating, the characters are likeable and details you're presented with transport you to the scene.

I loved this book! I can never get enough of SJM’s writing. Bryce is a badass and I love that she is such a strong female character. Hunt is our typical brooding male but he also has a soft side. Definitely an instant favourite

I already bought this book and I´m so ready to dive into the Story. Everyone has to read it, because it´s Sarah J. Maas!!

While I found the first part of this book to be very information-heavy, I really appreciated the world-building. It is very different from other Maas books and I found it really interesting to see her weave her signature fantasy elements with more modern technologies. I enjoyed reading this excerpt so much, I raced out to snag a copy on release date!

Of course it sucks you in and then the extract stops just as it is beginning to get reallllly good.

I have of course already purchased the book.

Disappointing. Was only barely a fan of A Court Of series but read them despite myself, and this wasn't any different to those. Felt like the same characters and plot recycled but with a lot more swearing mixed in to change the label from teen to adult.

Really enjoyed this opening extract of House of Earth & Blood. I'm so intrigued by where this novel is going, my appetite has been whet.
I've never read any of Maas books before so I was unsure if I should start with this one but the writing style is easy going and fluid so I definitely want to carry on!
I will post a full review online when I've read the rest of the book!
