I enjoyed reading Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the first volume in the series. The manga has some great art work and I liked the story line.

An enjoyable read with plenty of mysteries to unfold as the series progresses. A little tragedy, good action, and a quest for revenge. The manga is quite step-in-step with the anime based on the bit of it I've seen and read, so if you like one you'll probably enjoy the other as well.

With an amazing anime, this manga series consists of a great story and art. This hero's journey shows the value of family ties and how perseverance will always win out in the end. Great read!

This volume introduces you to Tanjiro and his plight of finding a cure for his little sister Nezuko who has been turned into a demon during the slaughter of their family. Tanjiro must train and pass the final selection to become a Demon Slayer in order to fight demons and attempt to ask about demonization. I love this manga and anime. I've only recently started reading the manga and already can't wait to see the other characters. Inosuke is my favorite, right next to the Zenitsu and his cowardly antics. Zenitsu was seen in this volume at the end of the Final Selection (The one mumbling he is going to die).

This series is amazing so far! I loved the anime, and the first volume of the manga does not disappoint. I'll definitely be picking up the next several volumes - or the whole series, actually - because I love this amazing cast of characters, the plot, and especially the action and demon-slaying. Demon Slayer is awesome!!

This book was highly interesting. Much of it seems like US vampire lore until you get to the end of book 1 which leaves the reader hanging and wishing for book 2. I thought this book while bloody and a bit violent was a great read. I know there is a matching anime but I think I want to finish reading the books before I watch the series.

What a great start to a manga! I had recently started watching the tv adaptation and decided I wanted to read the original source material too. The art is phenomenal and the story is gripping! I can’t wait until the next volume.

An excellent shounen manga with Bleach vibes--scary, action-packed and with complex interesting characters that will keep you reading to find out what happens to them next.

Thank you to both Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this title.

This feels like a retro 90's manga. The drawing style is fun and the story is typical of the genre, starting with a poor family, a hero who becomes an orphan (essentially), a montage of training, and then moving on to the story of avenging said family. It's traditional and it was fine. I won't be paying to read on in the series as it didn't hook me and I wouldn't recommend it to our library's manga group.

This just made me reminisce on seasonn one!!! I absolutely love Tanjiro and Nezuko. They are a bomb brother-sister pair. The whole demon fighting scene when Nezuko kicked his head off and Tanjiro lost it when the demon still moved and spoke will forever crack me!! The training scenes are still epic. This was great. Definitely recommend if you've seen the anime and for those who are interested in watching it but haven't yet!!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has a killer opening sequence for a manga. Tanjiro's Kamado's entire family is killed while he is out selling charcoal in. All except his younger sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon. Rather than let her be killed by the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro commits to finding a way to save Nezuko and starts on the path to becoming a Demon Slayer himself.

I don't normally associate shounen manga with particularly tight storytelling, but the stakes and world are set up so fast that I was invested almost immediately. I adore the art style of this, too - beautiful and horrific in equal turns and with equal detail. There's a great trend in quasi-horror shounen manga going on at the moment where they're not afraid to go dark and bloody and I love it. It's not gratuitous, but makes the threats feel real and immediate rather than "goon of the week".

Worth the hype!

Though there is a good amount of violence and gore, the series is a great addition to the anime world.
With it lovely art and compelling story, action/adventure fans are sure to enjoy!

I'm already so in love with this story and with these characters from just reading this first volume. I fully intend on reading the entire series, and I'm so excited to get even further into it. It's just amazing. The art isn't overly elaborate, but it doesn't leave anything to be desired either. It's quaint but pleasing.

'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Vol. 1' by Koyoharu Gotouge is a manga about a young boy learning to fight demons.

Tanjiro's fmaily lives in the mountains. One day he visits home and his entire family has been attacked by monsters. The only survivor is his little sister Nezuko. Wisdom says he should kill her, but there is still a bond between them. Now if Tanjiro can become a demon fighter, maybe he can find a way to help her.

I liked this story and characters. It had a nice retro feel in story and art. The story seems really grim, but doesn't become oppressively so. I wouldn't mind reading more in this series.

I received a review copy of this manga from VIZ Media and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this manga.

Although I watched the anime of Demon Slayer before reading this, I was happily surprised that it is an enjoyable read for those new to the series or those who have seen the anime. The art is crisply drawn with great attention to detail. The story moves a brisk pace that keeps you invested in the story. The characters are wonderfuly thought out and each highlighting their uniqueness. Awesome adventure and action scenes. A well balance manga for those who enjoy action, comedy and the paranormal. I give it 5 stars!

Demon Slayer was an okay read and I'd be interested in reading the next Volume before I decide to call it quits.

Looks promising, a little vague about the world and the way things work in this type of society but slowly but surely did grasp the workings of the characters' lifestyles. Could be another big one for shounen manga.
We'll see...

The genre of shonen manga has been significantly exhausted. This unique story brings to us a new set of characters with unique backgrounds. The challenges that they face are non-traditional and interesting.

Demon Slayer follows a boy whose family is killed by a demon. His sister survives but she has been transformed. He sets out on a journey to save her.

This manga was emotionally gripping and different to the typical mangas that I have read.
