Firstly, I'd like to thank Harper Collins UK and Netgalley for the eARC for an honest review. I found the audiobook on Libby (the library app).

This was a great read (listen) that made me laugh and cry throughout. It's a brilliant rom-com that focuses on the MC Ros, who has come home after three years from living in the States. She expects everything to be the same. The overall focus is dealing with change and getting older.

We have a great cast of characters in this book, from her quirky parents to her supportive group of friends, and we follow Ros, as she deals with job changes, romance, and living arrangements. The humour is laugh out loud and always exactly when needed. As I slowly come up to 30, I really appreciated the exploration of the changes and emotional toll that we go through.

The second chance romance that's explored with Ros' ex Patrick is enduring. I'm definitely a reader that shouts at characters, and I felt like this was constant when Patrick was around. We watch as Ros shrinks herself in this man's presences who gas lights her and belittles her in such a way that isn't quite obvious unless you're on the outside.

Then we have John, who is a breath of fresh air! He represents the change we see in Ros. Her character growth is immense, and I was so proud of her for taking control of her life. She went from cruising through to making her own opportunities. The writing is witty and quick! I look forward to reading more from Lindsey Kelk. This was my first from her!

As usual, I loved this work from this author. I always gain a smile, whatever mood I'm in, when I read something by Lindsey Kelk. The main protagonist is so relatable, I'm sure many of us could see ourselves in her. Featuring strong friendships, past and future relationships and a quirky family situation, I flew through this book in one afternoon. So good!

Based on a lot of reviews I have seen for this book, I appear to be in the minority in awarding less than five stars.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Lindsey Kelk, I have read many of her books, including the excellent and amazing I Heart series and I think she is a fantastic writer.

The majority of the characters were interesting and a lot of fun, just not our heroine. I loved the bar owner Patrick, he was a genuinely nice guy but not without his personal baggage and flaws in nature. He deserved better than Ros if you ask me.

The story itself was interesting, a mass text goes out to notify of a new number, oh we've all done that. However, someone gets in touch that was not expected and rekindles an old relationship. I have a few issues with that. First of all, this relationship ended badly the first time round, there would be no way I would have had that number still anywhere near my contacts. Can't remember how it was explained but personally, I would have obliterated every trace of it so this situation would never happen. But I guess there wouldn't be a story if that was the case so okay, we'll roll with it.

Secondly, it was clear from the beginning that this person had not changed so I'm not sure why a different outcome was expected the second time round, it's not chaos theory, it's human nature.

Finally, my biggest gripe was the big secret as to why Ros had come back to England from America, nobody must know, can't tell anyone, not even my parents, my best friends, not even the handsome bar owner who we tell everything else to. It turned out to be so innocuous, embarrassing perhaps but she had hardly been deported for trying to break into the White House! Not even remotely as serious as that!

I will still continue to read LK's books and consider this one a blip on my enjoyment radar

Funny and sweet, mainly focused on that feeling and meed to return home. I want to go to the bar 🤣 I'm not a massive fan of second chance romance though, I find it hard to buy into

Ros returns from her stint in America, broke and embarrassed at losing her dream job, but luckily her old friends are on hand to help her bounce back, but this also accidentally includes her ex Patrick, the one that got away.
I liked the premise of going back to what you once knew, the comfort factor and how that plays out, will it be a good or bad thing and gosh Patrick was a bit of a doozy.
The Good Luck bar needs to be real as it sounded fab and loved the interactions with John the owner as well as Ros' friendship base and family. That dynamic had me laughing aloud on occasions.
A fun and amusing read with some added thinking points.

I love Lindsey Kelk and will read any of her books! And this did not disappoint.
I absolutely loved the character of Ros and her trials and tribulations throughout the novel.
It waa relatable as everyone has experienced some element of change as they grow up and apart from their friends. The fact she lives in her parents shed is just the icing on the cake!
This book is a massive advocate for friendship and how not matter the length or distance, friends will always be friends.

I thought that this book was a bit forced and trying to be to much into popular culture so that I found it ridiculing to relate to unlike her previous books.... probably I am just too old and younger people will enjoy it far more! I did like the character of John however and he redeemed the story bit

I really enjoyed this book and I found it really relatable. What do you do when you have to return from a life your friends assume would be great, but actually wasn't all it turned out to be? When you're friends are moving on but you want to roll the clock back. First off, you embrace as much of you're old life as you can, even if you are living in your parents shed! However, Ros soon realised that what was once great viewed through her rose tinted glasses, she soon realised there were reasons she was leaving it behind. It was time to move forwards instead of living in the past. Ros's journey rang true with me and I really enjoyed the story and the characters within it. A great, funny read.

Many Thanks to Lindsey and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book before being published in exchange for an honest review.
A funny and romantic novel that I have enjoyed from the very beginning to the very end.
Ros moves back from the States to her parent´s house, well to the shed while she looks for a new job and can afford a house where to live.
Incidentally she sends a message to all her phone contacts letting them know that she´s back and that´s how she got entangle again with the ex-boyfriend. The one who didn´t mind her going to the States at all. They haven´t seen each other for 3 years so when they get together their relationship flourishes again, against her friends advises.
Luckily for her she also has a group of best friends who are really supportive, very funny and always there for her. And there is also a new friend of her friends. The one who appears at the beginning in a comical situation, and you cannot dislike him. John.
All the side characters are adorable, and you will have a laugh with all of them.
I really really enjoy this book. Thank you Lindsey!
