This was funny and sweet. It was such a fantastic summer read. Lindsey is one of my fave authors and whatever she releases I'll always read. I can't wait to read more from her xx

I can’t say I enjoyed this book, I found it slow and predictable and at times a bit ridiculous. What parents would move a daughter’s teenage belongings into a garden shed and expect her to live there? At any age, but at 32 years old? Really?
To be honest, Ros does not act or think like a woman of thirty two, she seems to have the mindset of a twenty year old, the age she wishes to regress to.
I don’t think I am the right target audience for this book, I found it a bit juvenile, more like a YA title.
Thanks to the author and Netgalley for my advance copy.

Ros has returned from working in Washington D.C., to live in the shed at the bottom of her parents’ garden. Having texted all her contacts her new phone number, she gets a job offer and a reconnect with ex Patrick, both on the same night. But will either offer work out well for her?

Parts of In Case You Missed It made me laugh aloud, although why having the garden shed decorated out as your childhood bedroom should be amusing I’m not sure. Ros’s friends, Adrian, Sumi and heavily pregnant Lucy all add humour and body to the story. There were parts that didn’t quite work for me - if fans knew where Snazzlechuff lived, why did he need to wear a mask all the time? - but overall I enjoyed reading it and look forward to other books by Lindsey Kelk,

If there was ever a book that made you laugh out loud this is it
It tells the story of Ros who goes to USA to seek her fame and fortune but instead gets the sack something she keeps to herself for awhile
She arrives back at her parents home to be shown how her very selfless dad has turned his shed into a tiny bedroom complete with all her bedding~ groovy chick and Justin Timberlake posters he has even installed a mini en-suite with compostable toilet. Ros’s old room is now her mums yoga studio and she is looking very fit and toned Ros notices
All Ros needs to do is find a job she has a new phone but all her numbers are saved into the cloud so she sends a message to all her old contacts saying she is back
Resulting in two weird replies the first from a woman she hasn’t heard of in years offering her a podcast job starting on Monday which she is thrilled to accept
The second message comes from Patrick the man she ended it with to go to USA in first place none of her friends like him but she thinks they may still have a chance. Will they?

Fab storyline, amusing prose and enough romance to keep you satisfied. Lindsey Kelk doesn't disappoint with this uplifting romantic comedy that leaves you with a smile on your face. Heartwarming.

It's always a learning experience to read a book with many British terms involved.

Ros was a fun character. I liked watching her grow throughout the book in both confidence and self-esteem. She was determined to make her present life the best life instead of hanging onto the past.

I wouldnt put this in a triangle trope but there were two men both involved with her life. I STRONGLY rooted for one and STRONGLY disliked another. You will have to read it to tell me which you prefer her to snog. (You see my new British terms there)

4.5⭐️
Relatable, hilarious, Rom-Com 💜

Ros is 32, back in the UK after working in Washington for the last three years as a Radio Producer. When she arrives back, everything has changed, living back at her parents whilst all her friends are moving forward. When she receives a text from ‘The One’ who broke her heart when she left, it seems like a second chance at her old life, is that what she truly wants?

Kelk is the true queen of Rom - Com. Her unique blend of humour, relatability and emotion is what makes her stories stand out. This one had me rooting for the underdog, hating her ex and loving her friends. It’s the ultimate feel good read, one to binge, with a good bar of Dairy Milk (better than Galaxy 💁🏼‍♀️) and a glass of wine. 🍷

Round up your friends and tell them to read this ✌🏻💁🏼‍♀️

Great read. Funny, light hearted and moreish. Fabulous characters that you just want to be friends with and moments of hilarity throughout. The parents are hysterical and the undeniable stars of the tale. There maybe an element of predictability but you just don’t care because the ride along the way is so much fun. Recommended read.

Thank you Netgalley

A big thank you, Ms Kelk, for allowing me to escape to another more fun filled world during the long months of lockdown.

Ros and her loved-up parents literally made me laugh out loud. Even when Ros hit a bump or two in the road and I found myself sniffling, it didn't last long as this author's incredible comic timing is second to none.

If you are feeling a bit down, reading a chapter or two of this book will soon help lift your spirits.

Ros is lost, consumed by the past and searching for happiness. There are some great characters in this book, Ros’ friends, her parents, and who could not enjoy Snazzlechuff. Lindsey Kelks positions the narrative in the here and now with a famous youtuber and boomeranging adults, returning back to the family home. At the heart of this story is love and what it can be for different people, for Ros, her parents, for Patrick and for John,

This story reminded me that happiness isn’t always what we expect it to be, and usually the people, the moments and the places that we associate with happiness can never quite live up to what we expect so best to create happiness in the moment rather than search for something that may no longer be there.

Ros comes back home after working in the US for three years. However is slightly sad that her friends have all progressed in life whereas Ros feels she has not. A group text she sends out brings back her ex-boyfriend into her life. This is a sweet story and I loved all the 90's references in particular to her bedroom at home.

Thank you to NetGalley & publisher for the copy in exchange for a honest review.

Ros is back in the UK after three years in Washington, USA and whilst she would like to pick up where she left off, all her friends have moved on. Her best friends are either loved up or pregnant; even her parents have rekindled their love.

So whilst everyone else is moving forward, Ros finds herself living in her parents converted shed with no job and no man. After getting a new mobile she group messages everyone in her contacts - and who replied but her ex. What’s in store with Patrick?

This is a wonderfully upbeat story about trying to not live in the past, it’s not always better! Ros is a really likeable character who is realistic due to her flaws, but then who doesn’t? She had a great group of friends who love her for who she is and are a great support network for her.

A heartwarming novel with plenty of laughs along the way and a great standalone by Lindsey Kelk. Thank you to @tandemcollective and @harpercollinsuk for my gifted copy

Ros took a job offer abroad, but when it doesn’t work out and she flies back home, everyone seems to have moved on - apart from her. She’s stuck in her nostalgic ways, thinking back to her early 20s as the best years of her life. But her friends disagree, and are happier where they are. Is the secret to Ros’ happiness getting back to her boyfriend Patrick that she had to leave behind when she took the job?...⁣

We’ve all been there. Feeling like your friends are miles ahead of you, and you can’t catch up. I fully understood Ros’ position, but also that of her friends. The only think I wasn’t sure of, was her Dad’s faith in the shed he’d built🤦🏼‍♀️⁣

John is bloody lovely, I adored him 😩 as you probably saw from the prompt cards I posted on my stories (highlights on my page), I was rooting for him early on🤞🏻⁣

The story of Ros’ life and the revealing of different parts that we didn’t know, despite getting everything first person, was really well written. And kept me wanting to read to the end! Lindsey has this talent of creating a bubble of amazing characters, and a story that you want to race to the end for, but you can’t miss anything in between 😂⁣

This book was fantastic and as ever Lindsey Kelk does not disappoint. This book literally has every feeling that you can imagine but for me there were so many giggles that I sat smiling for almost the entire book. I loved the characters and the plot. Even though it was predictable I had to keep reading and sometimes predictability is lovely. Ros and her parents were hilarious and I will be thinking of them for days to come. This book has made me want to re-read the whole back catalogue of this authors books. So please watch out for that in the coming months. This book is an absolute must read and very much pick it up now for a bit of sunshine in your life. I’m off to buy the physical copy as I need it for my bookshelf

This is a fun contemporary romcom staring 32 year old Rosalind ‘Ros’ Reynolds who is returning home after working for three years in Washington DC as a radio producer. She’s coming home with no job and is going to stay with her parents until she gets settled. That’s when the fun starts – right from the very beginning. Her parents are enjoying a renaissance in their romance and have got used to having their home to themselves so have built a garden shed that has been adapted to be home for Ros, complete with everything from her childhood bedroom!

She’s had to get herself a new phone and sends a group text to everyone in her Contacts to tell them she’s back in London and giving them her new phone number . . . . That’s when a job offer comes through, closely followed by a text from the man who broke her heart three years ago. Will this turn out to be a second chance romance or will fate have new plans for Ros? You’ll have to read it for yourself to find out.

This is a laugh out loud read, with Ros reconnecting with her long term friends only to discover that their lives have been moving on in different ways whilst she was abroad. Sometimes it is great to look back on your memories but it can also prevent your moving on with your life. This is about Ros exploring the past and moving on to her future. There are many hilarious events in the story which also has a fantastic range of secondary characters who all bring their personal quirks to the story and add to the humour. It is a fun read and great to escape into when you want to put a smile on your face!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Contemporary romance is a genre I would either love or hate. My feelings are tested on each book, and for the record, I don’t read that many each year, because the scale favors the latter most of the times. This was not the case with Lindsey Kelk’s “In Case You Missed It” and I’m so happy for this!

Ros returns to England after spending three years in Washington DC working as a podcast producer. She is in desperate need of a new job, a place to live and some peace. All she finds is that her friends have moved on with their lives, changed their meeting place and have been all so fascinated by her living in the Sates. Her parents are going through a middle age inflaming of their love and marriage and her bedroom is actually a shed at her parents’ garden.

So she starts with baby steps. Gets herself a new phone, which the lady at the shop helped her set up with all her contacts from the cloud, and being so not great with technology, she group texts all those contacts that she is back. One of those contacts being the man that broke her heart right before she left. Funny thing is, he actually responds to her text! Her life could not turn any worse. Even so, it’s good to have a second chance in love and life!

Ros, the main character of the book is someone the reader could easily connect. She is very realistic, a person that could be your friend, someone you knew or even just you. She has had a hard time with a person she loved. Patrick was a person she really loved, or so she thought. He is a writer, a very clever person that she just loves to hear him speak. Their relationship is one that you may have been through. Love makes you blind they say. The whole world could be falling apart and you might not even notice. When you are in love, the person on the other side of your affection is the center of your world. And this is exactly what happened with Ros and Patrick. So, she was more than heartbroken when she left.

It was so easy to understand the way Ros thought about everything. Especially as the story moves forward and we get to know more details of what happened when. Her parents was a fun part of the book. To their defense, they had just had the house to themselves and they had started living a life of their own, just the two of them. The best years of their relationship after they had children! I can understand them, but I can also understand Ros and how awkward she felt. The shed at the garden was not because her parents didn’t want her back. But it was more of a way to give her her independence and at the same time, they kept their. After all, they were all grown ups and the were not used to live together.

Overall, this was a funny contemporary romance that makes a good company either at the beach or at the couch of one’s house!

Thank you to NetGalley & Harper Collins U.K. for an e-copy of this book. The views expressed are my personal and honest opinion.

This was my first Lindsey Kelk book and it will not be my last! This was a fantastic, beautiful and fun read with second chances at its core. I loved this book so much that after 100 pages in I went and purchased a physical copy!

The characters were brilliant and I honestly loved the humour and banter between them all. Ros was an amazing main character with lots of depth and development. I definitely connected with her on many levels, wanting to go back to the past when things were better and life seemed easier. The side characters were on point and I loved each and everyone of them. The one question I do have is where do I find myself a John?! He was so sweet and took such an interest in Ros and her life!

This was such a light-hearted and uplifting book that I honestly struggled to put down! I honestly recommend this book to all fans of contemporary romance! This book was perfect and I cannot wait to read more of Lindsey Kelk's books!

Thank you HarperCollins UK, NetGalley and Tandem Collective UK for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In Case You Missed It is a fun and heartwarming story of personal growth and a little bit of romance. It's a fun story of a woman rebuilding her life and letting go of what her own expectations are. I liked that I didn't have everything figured out. Ros had secrets and she didn't lay them all out from the beginning. It helped keep me engaged and turning pages quickly! Her friend group was so wonderful and provided such a good balance for Ros and her personal struggles. The turning point was so rewarding and so entertaining.

This is the first time I've read anything by Lindsey Kelk and I was really pleasantly surprised. The story was quick and interesting, the characters weren't blasé or annoying - they were fun, well-rounded and didn't just talk about men. And the male interests weren't just one sided (oh what a monster, oh what a heart throb). Even better, it was genuinely funny and quirky. In all a really fun read!

Ros has just returned to the UK after working in America for the past three years. Three years ago she left her friends, family and then boyfriend for a exciting career opportunity. On returning, she's full of nostalgia for the way things used to be (or maybe that's just the childhood bedroom in the garden shed that she's living in speaking). She's especially nostalgic for Patrick, the boyfriend that she left and has been thinking about for three years, thinking about what might have been. So when a mass group text gets sent to him, and Patrick responds, Ros thinks that this could be just her chance to rekindle what was lost.

This was a really fun, and funny, read. It seems like Lindsey Kelk has a particular sense of humour, or maybe Ros does, that really works for me. She worked the slightly mad and comical into every day situations and I actually found myself smiling whilst reading this (I'm quite a stoic reader).

Ros' friends were all real people - they had their own things going on. Their lives don't just revolve around our protagonist. They cancel plans, or do fun things with her. Even though there was plenty of chance for Ros to focus on the whole 'people living lives without me and they've all moved on but I haven't' kind of story, she didn't (and I'm super grateful for it!!)

Ros is also a good person, even if she'd blush to hear it. She's got actual depth of character and does silly things and makes mistakes, but clearly puts her friends and family first, without necessarily judging them if they don't do the same for her - she takes things at face value and doesn't make it all about her - which is such a delight to read.

Aside from Patrick, who we gradually realise is a bit of a knob, there's John. Who is obviously a nice guy that Ros has some kind of unconscious connection with. What was missing for me was more time with the two of them - they had some good bonding and steamy moments, but I wanted that slow burn interest and attraction to have more on-page time to make it happen.

The more I think about it too, there was a lot of the Bridget Jones feel about this novel. Two love interests, one who seems completely charming at face value but actually isn't. And then the other, who is a little broodier, a little harder to love (and also steps in to save the day selflessly). Those elements were definitely there, and are part of what makes books with similar stories to Pride and Prejudice such meaningful, funny and passionate reads, as long as they are done well. Happily, it was definitely done well here.

4 💫 I loved reading the ‘I heart’ series (over a decade ago I’m pretty sure?! 😱) and Lindsey Kelk has done it again ❤️ One of my favourite lines from this book ‘ thank god everything made more sense with a hobnob’ - if that’s not enough to make you read it then this one’s not for you 😂❤️
