Firstly thank you to @harpercollinsuk and @netgalley for the review copy of this book. In Case You Missed It is @LindseyKelk’s next stand-alone novel, out at the end of July.

Where to start! Lindsey is one of my absolute go to authors. I’ve read all of her books and just like those books, I absolutely love, love, LOVED this.

Our main character is Ros. After living and working in Washington DC she finds herself abruptly uprooting her life and ending up living back at her parents (albeit not in the house), back at whatever the square before square one is and staring down the barrels of hiding the truth from everyone. A mis-text gets Ros back in touch with an old flame and nostalgia for how things used to be takes over.

Ros is a great character to read about. She’s real, down to earth and you can completely imagine being with her along the way. Lindsey writes with a great sarcasm and dry wit and I love how this comes out in her characters. Ros restarts her career and although it turns out to be completely different to how she imagined she battles on with a grim determination. I loved the portrayal of our sometimes ridiculous modern world and it’s place in the story.

The cast of secondary characters comprise of Ros’s friends; Suki, Adrian and Lucy; their new friend John and Ros’s ex Patrick. I loved all of the old and new friends but loathed Patrick in the same vein as Suki. I loved the support network that Ros had, especially her budding new relationship with John.

Packed with rollerskating, inappropriately dressed mothers and more than a few mishaps this is definitely the book you should reach for this summer. If you haven’t read any of Lindsey’s books before now is absolutely your chance!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

What a book!

Ros is a genuinely likable character, so we’re her friends Sumi, Lucy and even Adrian.

Her parents are I found fabulously bonkers with their antics and not to mention the shed, amongst others.

Fantastic adventures, some hilarious mishaps and lots of drama to keep you intrigued and invested and make up a fabulous book by Lindsey.

Ros has possibly the most hilarious (and embarrassing) parents in the world!
Returning from America after a failed attempt at a new life and career she moves temporarily back in with her parents only to discover that she has been relocated to the all new, singing and dancing, composting toileted garden shed!
Welcome but not quite welcome in the family home she sets out to rebuild her life via a job working with a seemingly obnoxious teen gamer whilst trying to rekindle a lost romance and generally getting into a bit of a mess.
Funny, real and relatable!

I love Lindsey Kelk's books and this was no exception. The story follows Ros who has just arrived back in London after three years working in America to find that everyone has moved on without her, she has to live in a shed at the bottom of her parents' garden and life is just generally not the best right now, that is until her ex replies to her mass text - maybe things are looking up after all?

The characters were relatable and I loved the LGBTQ+ rep in side characters. I think we can all relate to wanting to go back to a point in our past, when life was generally better and less stressful so it's easy to imagine Ros clinging onto her past as her friends are reaching adult milestones around her.

The story was well paced and has Kelk's trademark humour throughout. I read it in two days and it was a lovely, light, escapist read. The plot is great and the writing style is so down to earth and funny. If you love Kelk's books, you'll love this and if you haven't read any of her other books then I highly recommend this one.

I have been reading Lindsey Kelk for years and was gutted when the I heart series ended so jumped at the chance to read this and although predictable it did not disappoint. I love how you always know what you are going to get with a Lindsey Kelk book - an easy, hilarious, addictive read.

This one follows Ros who returns home from the States to find she wants her old life back which has moved on without her. I laughed all the way through this book and finished it feeling happy. Would absolutely recommend.

Quite possibly my favourite Lindsey Kelk book to date! I'm fairly certain that Ros is the most relatable character I have read from her and I know we've all had a Patrick in our lives at some stage!

I loved all of this book, Ros's parents are hilarious and I would love to have her friendship group, especially her new friend John. I just wasn't much of a fan of Jo!

I think this is one of the books where I was left wanting more. It didn't feel finished to me? I want to know more about Johns ex. Does he manage to buy her out in the future. Does she make things awkward for Ros and John in the future. Also does Sumi manage to have her baby? Does Lucy put up with creepy Dave?

Even if this is a standalone I must say I'm quite happy with the ending but I would love to see more from these characters because they all have a story to tell.

I absolutely loved this book!
It's not the type that I'd normally go for, but I am so glad that I did. It's funny, witty & true to life - I could totally relate to Ros, her life & relationships with work, friends & partner.
I'm looking forward to reading more from Lindsey!

I devoured this in a single day! A story of friendship, love and nostalgia. Of going back to what you thought was perfect and finding yourself along the way. Great characters, warm, wonderful friendship and a great love story to boot. Ros’s parents were a hoot!

I've just spent the most wonderful afternoon, devouring this wonderful new book from Lindsey Kelk. I absolutely adore this author and it is always a treat to be able to delve into her latest book.

And this was no exception, from the moment we see that Ros who has moved back to her parents after a few years in Washington, has had her bedroom relocated, you knew you were in for an amusing read. For they have set her up in a shed in the garden for her (and their) privacy. Not only is it her bedroom but its her bedroom from the 90s, so plenty of nostalgia there!

Actually her parents are hilarious, there is a scene with sushi that let's just say you wouldn't want it to be your own parents but for other people its very funny!!

Ros is determined to live in the past and isn't that keen on change, so when she accidentally gets in contact with her ex, and they get together, she is very happy to pick things up where they left off. I wasn't keen on that man at all!

I loved her friendship group, all really distinct personalities and had their own things going on that were interesting to follow. And her new job, well that's different, I'd never given podcasts much thought but Ros was working on one, and for a child gaming YouTube star which is rather amusing.

This has all of Lindsey Kelks' trademark humour in the book, some romance, loads of great situations. I loved the roller skating, and the walled garden and also the dark disc which are all really great scenes.

It's a story that has it all and that I absolutely adored reading. Another hit from one of my all time favourite authors.

Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I loved this book! Such an easy read, well-written with plenty of description of the characters which are all really relateable.

Ros just moved back from the US where she had been the last 3 years - initially she doesn’t let on really why she is back but fate delivers her ex right to her on a platter but is it what she wants? The local bar owner her friends have befriended seems like a complete tool in the beginning but as she opens up to him maybe he isn’t all that bad.

Walk through Ros’ trials and tribulations of coming to terms with being back home and trying to re-live the past but realising that the future has more in store.

Loved the writing style and would happily devour more books written by Lindsey Kelk..

Entertaining, funny and heartwarming story that I found a brilliant read.
Friendships that are solid are always a good basis of a "fall from grace" style romcom and the friends in this book were an amazing bunch. I think it tackles that change to friendships that occurs (at any age but especially in 30s) with careers, kids, marriage etc and how we can sometimes elevate the glory days with nostalgia and an impossible ideal that often doesn't reflect reality.
This has all the great things you'd expect from a Lindsey Kelk book and was a joy

Really enjoyed this well written romantic novel. Lots of tears and laughter to help you along the way, with an honest viewpoint of friendships thrown in.

This is a good, fun book about treasuring friendships and learning what makes a good relationship. Ros has come back from 3 years in America. Her parents have rekindled their love for each other, which would be lovely if Ros wasn’t a witness to the intimacy! She hopes to resume her friendships as if she never left, us everything has changed and grown and this leaves Ros feeling sad.
A very enjoyable and heartwarming read..

Ros has arrived back from America after 3 years moving there after accepting a job offer. Her friends lives have moved on however she doesn’t seem to have.

I found this book amusing and did laugh in a few places however it was so predictable. When I got to the end of it I felt disappointed not to have had some sort of surprise.

Thank you so much to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Ros has just returned to the UK after a three stint at an American radio show as a producer. She's keeping quiet as to why she is back suddenly and is in for a shock when her parents have built a garden shed for her to move into rather than staying her childhood home. Whilst she might be jobless and living in a shed she has her wonderful friends to catch up with.

With a new phone, her friend Sumi suggests sending a group text to all of Ros's contacts to say hi and that this is her new number. Her previous contacts backed up on the cloud, it sounds like the easy option to let everyone know that she's home. Whilst this leads to a last-minute job offer, it also prompts her ex-boyfriend Patrick to get in touch who she split with before heading to America. Her friends aren't keen on him, but she is longing for a slice of her old, uncomplicated life and suddenly she is meeting up with him and potentially picking up where they left off.

Whilst things have changed with her friends over the years, not least the bar they opt to meet up in. Which leads to a new friendship with John the owner who Ros finds easy to talk to. Opening up to him more than her friends, could it be that it's time to move on from the past and look towards the future?

Ros comes back from America with her tail between her legs. Her dream job didn't quite work out, She sends out a group text tp let everyone know she's back. What she doesn't realise is that it has gone to her ex, Patrick. Will they get beach together again or will the ever so annoying John worm his way into her heart?
A pleasant enough romcom with some quite funny moments but it was pretty predictable and the characters weren't quite winsome enough to win me over. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC,

Such a lovely story. Very nostalgic. The main charcutiers trip down memory lane and her shock that life moves on was so natural. I could really relate to this story, I had flash backs to when I returned home from university. This story is so easy to read. If you want to get lost in a book - if this one a go.

Well this was just what the doctor ordered, a lovely, light, fast-paced story about Ros a producer who returns home to London after several years working in the USA.she quickly slips back into life with her charismatic group of friends and settles into life back at her parents... in a shed at the bottom of the garden lovingly created so that their renewed sex life isn't hindered, hilarious. A great read, many thanks to netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I adore Lindsey Kelk’s writing. I am a big fan. And (whisper it), I’ve always thought her stand alone novels are better than her I heart series. So, I had big expectations going into this new stand alone. I am delighted to say it did not disappoint one bit. It had characters you instantly warm to, laugh out loud scenes, and is littered with little references to things that every 30 something will love (Groovy chick, the sims, the Care Bears, the Spice Girls and so on). Ohhh and it has a scene in the rain near the end that is worthy of any Rom Com movie!! What can I say? I loved it. A big 4.5 stars from me. If you like this genre, you need to read this (along with Lindsey’s entire back catalogue).

Light Hearted Read.. To Looking Forward and Leaving The Past in the Past 🥂

Ros returns after working three years away, expecting life to continue as it was before she left, but lots has changed, life moves on. Her parents have found a new lease of life, since both daughters have flown the nest. Their relationship like young lovers, embarrassingly so at times for Ros.
A new person has joined her closest friends, things have gone back with her ex, but is that what she wants. For a long time reminiscing and missing how things were...

I've not read any books by this author before, but definitely would do again. Lighthearted, full of humour, overall great read 👍
