⁣I was overjoyed to be able to get my hands on an advance copy of this book as I love Lindsey Kelk and she is my most owned author on my shelves!

This book was so relatable and extremely funny. I loved following the antics of Ros and her friendship group on their day to day trials and tribulations. I found the fact the Ros moved back home to her parents and ended up with her own little ‘shed’ room hilarious and loved all the 90’s themed references! ⁣

I disliked Patrick immensely (what an absolute d**k), but fell head over heel in love with John! He is officially my new fictional man crush!!

All in all a light hearted, modern Rom Com, perfect for an easy summer read. A must read book for all Lindsey Kelk fans and if you haven’t read anything by her yet, I recommend you make this one you first!! ⁣

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved it!!! ⁣

Thanks to @netgalley and @harpercollins for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.

A summer read which is predictable and not as funny as I thought it would be.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Unfortunately, this book was not for me and I gave up at around 40%. I just found it a little boring but that was probably due to my age group.
Sadly this book simply isn't for me.

Hilariously witty, ridiculously relatable and amazingly British in every single way possible. I couldn't put this down once I'd started. Lindsey main characters are always so bloody relatable, and Ros is not an exception. Although her life is a bit of a disaster, her relationship with her friends, and parents are hilarious. And I just love to see a 30 odd year old still trying to figure life out, I relate to it so much.

As always, Lindsey knocked it out of the park. 5🌟 from me, loved this book.

Yet again - a fabulous book from Lindsey Kelk.

I liked Ros from the off - and her relationship with her friends was great. Despite the changes they all had going on in their lives they all looked out for each other completely (the exact opposite of the group of friends in the book Olive I read recently). And I was a bit sad that Ros didn't share everything with them - as I knew they would have understood.

The description of Ros's relocated childhood bedroom into her parent's shed is hilarious - ALL of the 90s references right there!

Ros's evolving relationship with her parents and sister was also explored. I loved the chats she had with her Mum later in the book.

Some of the romance storyline was a bit predictable (Patrick was a d*ck, John was ace) - but that didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book.

The section about the teenager gaming sensation was very apt as I currently have a nocturnal 15 year old who is living his best lockdown life communicating with his friends online through his x-box. Sadly he hasn't made millions out of it (he would say 'yet'!!)

It was a book I really enjoyed and kept reading 'one more chapter' - and now I want to know what happened to all of the characters afterwards!

It's out in a couple of days, and definitely worth ordering for an easy, fun, enjoyable, escapist read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

I've also remembered I have a hard copy previous book by Lindsey Kelk in my TBR pile (having been easily persuaded when someone (Sarra Manning I think - although it could have been Lindsey herself!!) tweeted to say it was 99p on Amazon) - so I will be reading it soon and adding it to the community library my friend has set up in her porch whilst the real library in our village is shut due to Covid19!

After 3 year working the US, Ros is back home and in desperate need of a new job, a new flat and a new start. But life has gone on whilst Ros has been away her friends are leading very different lives, and her parents are enjoying a child free home, perhaps a little too much.

But when she accidentally sends out a text with her new number to all her contacts, messages begin to pop up from her old life. In particular, one that she thought she’d erased forever: the man who broke her heart.

This is the first book I have read by Kelk, but I had high hopes for finding a new favourite author after reading so much high praise for her works online.

Sadly, I found this story to be pretty slow and I wasn’t that keen on Ros as the main protagonist. I also felt like everything of worth happened in the last 10-15% of the book.

The story itself was well written and I have, since finishing, seen reviews claiming this possibly isn’t up to Kelk’s usual standard and therefore, I would give another by her a go. It was an enjoyable story, but it didn’t make me laugh out loud like others in this genre.

I love every Lindsey Kelk book without fail, and this was no exception. Ros is very likeable and relatable, as is her relationship with her career, her family, her friends and her ex. A really enjoyable easy read, perfect for a bit of escapism.

When Ros returns home to London from Washington DC after three years away, she’s ready and waiting to rejoin the life she left behind. However, her friends now have new lives of their own, her parents have rediscovered their love for one another and Ros’ bedroom is now in a shed at the bottom of her parent’s garden! With a new phone and number to share, one group message later, and Ros starts to receive messages from her old life. One in particular from a number and man she thought she’d erased from her life for good; the man who broke her heart...

From the outset I was so invested in Ros’ story and loved how this book was written in the first person from her perspective. She has been the absolute best leading character! I smiled constantly as I was reading and was in fits of laughter throughout. There are so many fantastic one-liners and some absolutely hilarious scenes (my particular favourites being the sushi incident, the dark disco and the drama with the tiger head)! I am already missing Ros and could happily read about her life forever!

Ros’ friendships with Sumi, Adrian and Lucy were just so wonderful and I adored these characters just as much as Ros. They were always there to support and offer advice and really did have the best names for a certain someone from Ros’ past too!

I was really hoping for a particular ending for Ros as the story progressed and I am so thankful Lindsey granted my wish. Ros is one very lucky lady!

I raced through this book and loved every moment. I just couldn’t put it down! It is such a brilliant, uplifting and hilarious story with a great message at its heart; I would recommend this to everyone!

Ros is just back from America and living in a shed at the bottom of her parent’s garden. When an ex gets back in touch after she sends out a group text about her return is this a second chance with love.

This was such a good book with lots of laugh out loud moments. Ros had a Bridget Jones feel about her which isn’t a bad thing, who doesn’t love Bridget Jones!

I loved the dynamics between Ros and her friends Sumi, Adrian and Lucy and John of course. I could also see this book working well as a film.

The story flows making it an enjoyable and easy read.

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for the ARC

I enjoyed this book but the world of podcasts is a bit above me - it’s age related being bought up with radio programmes the world of podcasts is unknown territory. This lack of knowledge did not detract from the story where relationships and romance is paramount. Friendships are so important to Ros and she blossoms with her friends support. A very pleasant read

Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for this advance read.
As I have read all of Lindsey kelk's books I was looking forward to thus one.
As usual the characters have interesting lives, friends that are fiercely loyal nd questionable families.
I would describe this book as comedy fiction with a romantic theme & a good summer read.

I liked this novel for its diverse characters in a modern rom/com story.
Would you really want to go back on time? That's the question for our main character Ros, back from a job in the big USA to coming home to living in her parents shed! The love of friendship is clear throughout this whole story. I really enjoyed this novel and if you are a big fan of all things pod cast then this is the book for you. Loved the ending very refreshing!! Great book a must read!

Ros has had to move back home to the shed at the bottom of her parents garden when she gets fired from her fancy podcast producer job in America. She feels a bit left out as she feels all her friends lives have moved on over the years..including the new addition of arrogant John to the friendship group. However, after sending a group text, her ex Patrick gets back in touch. Ros is over the moon until things get more complicated. She starts to notice flaws about Patrick alongside realising that maybe John isn't as arrogant as she thought..

A lovely, funny and light hearted romance read! I loved Ros and her sense of humour straight away, her relationship with her parents and friends had be laughing within minutes. The story itself was great and I made up my mind I was team John immediately after they met. I liked how modern this was with mentions of podcasts, gamers and YouTubers but also enjoyed that this touched on issues such feminism and gender roles, thanks to the addition of Ros' liberal sister Jo.

The only thing I wish is that this was longer so we could have had more Ros and John build up! I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for providing me with a copy to read.

Wonderfully funny and ultimately an uplifting tale.

After losing her job in America and having to move back home and live in a shed at the bottom of her parents garden Ros sees her friends with their jobs, their relationships and finds herself missing what she once had, or someone she once had to be precise.

Ros seems stuck in the past.

She liked her twenties, she wants them back.

And after getting a new phone and sending out a text to ALL her contacts, she finds herself back in contact with her ex. The one that got away, or so she thought.

That is until she opens her eyes and realises that maybe she was seeing some of her past through rose tinted glasses.

In Case You Missed It really hits the spot.

Plenty of humour and banter throughout all dished out from a cracking cast of characters. I found myself smiling with every turn of the page.

Highly recommended.

This is the first book I have read by Lindsey Kelk. I am looking forward to reading more. This is a romantic comedy just what is needed to escape the trials of lockdown. It was funny and kept me wanting to read one more chapter. Highly recommend.

This book has it all - nostalgia, romance, humour, poignancy, friendship, an adult child having to live in a shed in her mum and dad's back garden, podcasts, roller skating, babies - it ticks a lot of boxes. All the characters are likeable and well-developed. My favourite characters are Ros (the main protagonist), Sumi, and John (I loved John!). Ros's sister has some great lines too. I liked this book so much, particularly with regard to the slow burn romance, that I'm re-reading it. I'll definitely be looking to read more Lindsey Kelk books. If you want a giggle, give this a go.
With thanks to Net Galley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A lovely, romantic, easy-reading story.
It has all the ingredients - misunderstandings, initial dislike, difficulties....all baked together into a light, fluffy gateau of gorgeousness.
I did have to resort to Google once or twice though - some of the modern slang and abbreviations were new to me!

I'm a big fan of Lindsey's work, and I had really high hopes for this one. I wasn't disappointed.

I related to Ros quite heavily, as soon who has also emigrated and has lost their job. I had this feeling I would come back home and life would be exactly as I left it, which isn't ever the case – life goes on for those you leave at home. It's a very sweet way to relearn that lesson.

I also really enjoyed Ros' friends, especially Sumi. They're such a fantastic, diverse and supportive bunch. I would love to see more from these characters and see where their lives go after the last page.

One bug bear I had with this book was Ros' parents, they were a little too much for me.

Quite enjoyable to start with but became ludicrous where it should have been funny , so I got bored with it. When Ros returns to her parents' home after three years doing her dream job in Washington, she expects everything to be the same, but it isn't, though her old boyfriend wants her back. Perhaps she needs to move on? A light romance, OK for summer reading.

Thank you Harper Collins for the opportunity to read the book via NetGalley, my thoughts are my own.

I've read many of the books by Lindsey Kelk over the years, and personally I think this is one of the best.

It is a fun book, full of larger than life characters, perfect for enjoying on a summer day.

Ros has returned home from the job of a lifetime (but was it?) and ends up reconnecting with her ex boyfriend by accident.

Will Patrick make her happy? Will her parents make her live in the shed for the rest of her life? Will her podcast be successful? This book should be enjoyed sat in a sunny garden or park, with a cocktail or a cocktail.
