The second book in the Three Sisters Island builds heavily on the first book, On a Summer Tide. There are lots of characters to keep up with so the list of characters and descriptions help. The different perspective of each character adds to the story. Overcoming one's deepest fear is a running theme throughout. The subject of faith is another strong point. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommended!

We need more books like these! This is book two in a series written by the author, Suzanne Woods Fisher. I found the book to be fresh and relatable. It is written from a Christian perspective so no surprises about values.
I will recommend this book to our patrons.
Thanks to Netgalley and Revell for the ARC of this book. I know it will be an enjoyable read.

Welcome back to Three Sisters Island, where life is slow, electricity is spotty, and there are no secrets.
Yet, in On a Coastal Breeze, Book Two of Three Sisters Island by Suzanne Woods Fisher, we find that life is messy. Each sister in the Grayson family, plus their father, has a few secret fears. Paul, the father, is having a rough time being administrator of Camp Kicking Moose. Cam, the eldest, is putting off her wedding in favor of island improvement. How long can Seth wait? Cooper needs more attention than Cam is willing to give. Will this family-to-be happen? Maddy is settling into her dream job of counselor-therapist when Ricky O’Shea, the bane of her young existence, drops out of the sky...to become the new pastor. “As a boy, Ricky O’Shea had stolen her heart. As a man, he was back to claim it.” Can Maddy decide whether she hates or loves Rick? Blaine is as unsteady and unable to finish a goal as ever. However, she has a wonderful friendship with Artie Lotosky. They’re so fun, warm, and they totally understand each other. No wonder everyone but Blaine thinks they’d be a good match.
As always, Fisher has a charming sense of humor, with characters that are warm, real, and flawed. It is easy to identify with them, imagining them as your neighbors or even bits of yourself. Fisher’s voice and easy ebb and flow of words set the tone for an island that you almost want to locate for your next vacation. However, the waiting list for Camp Kicking Moose is a little long.
While I usually groan at lists of characters in the beginning of a book, it was very helpful to ease my transition back to this beautiful fishing island. I believe this book could be read alone, but I strongly recommend reading it as its part of the series.
We are left with enough unfulfilled hopes and unanswered questions at the end of the book to gratefully look forward to book three.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher via Celebrate Lit and NetGalley. (I also purchased my own copy.) This in no way affects my opinions which are solely my own.

As the second book in this series, I do have to say I love it as much as the first. While you don’t exactly have to read book one, I highly recommend it. Some of the dynamics between the sisters will be better understood with that extra information.

I love how Suzanne Woods Fisher works the different angles of each person’s unique personality. She uses the birth order and traits specific to that person to build note-worthy characters that never feel trite or fake.

I want to move to Three Sisters Island. The people here just ran away with my heart. The way they join together to help one another and the way they stand strong as a community is a rare gift.

On a Coastal Breeze is Madison’s story, but there’s so much more to tell and explore. We’re not left behind as each sister’s story develops, even though Maddie is in the spotlight. The constant tension between her and Rick was perfect. An old misunderstanding and years of youthful pride send Maddie into a tailspin that only God can help her overcome.

ON A COASTAL BREEZE is the second book in this family drama series by best selling author Suzanne Woods Fisher. This would be best enjoyed after reading On a Summer Tide as the stories tie together.

The story does go back and forth in time, but it is necessary for the backstory between Maddie and Rick. I enjoyed getting to know both of these characters. Cam annoyed me somewhat in this book and I wanted to talk to Blaine, but I loved Maddie and Rick.

The island is full of quirky characters, some of which made me laugh.

If you love women's fiction, family drama, and contemporary romance with a touch of humor, you will love ON A COASTAL BREEZE.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Fear. Worry. Anxiety. Do these plague you or someone you love? Through the lives of the Grayson sisters, author Suzanne Woods Fisher provides great insight and wisdom as to their root and the One who holds the answers to the havoc they wreak on our peace and contentment.

On a Coastal Breeze will be best understood and enjoyed by first reading On a Summer Tide, the first book in Fisher's Three Sisters Island series. The island is filled with quirky characters and even has some quirks of its own. There is enough fun and humor in this series to make the tough themes easier to digest. It is lighthearted enough to to be a great beach or vacation read, but meaty enough to make one feel like the times spent reading it was time well spent.

I am grateful to have received a copy of On a Coastal Breeze from Revell via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review, and received no monetary compensation.

Sometimes a chapter does change an entire book!

The Lord will complete what his purpose is for me. Lord, your gracious love is eternal; do not abandon your personal work in me. — Psalm 138:8

Once again the author has drawn such a beautiful picture of Three Sisters Island and Camp Kicking Moose that I am almost envious of those who get to live there! This book centers on Maddie, the middle sister, however, the rest of the family is certainly not left out of the narrative. Cam is totally into her efforts to make the island self-sustainable as far as energy is concerned, sometimes to the detriment of her relationship with Seth and Cooper. Blaine, returning from her first year of culinary school, does not want to continue - once again struggling with finishing what she has started. Paul, their father, seemingly has his own struggles.

In all, this book had me doing a great deal of reflective thinking. How easy it is to quit before you get started, or be so involved that you forget those that are important to you! Maddie’s new career as a therapist perhaps precipitates this deep thinking through her dealings with her clients. Each of these wonderful characters seems to be dealing with fear of some kind. Will they manage to face those fears and move on?

This second book in the Three Sisters Island series can stand alone, but the depth of these characters will leave you wanting to get to know them better. In fact, I am already anxiously awaiting the next book!

This digital copy was received through Baker Publishing Group, Revell books, NetGalley and CelebrateLit. All comments and impressions are my own and were not solicited.

Maddie Grayson recently certified as a family therapist start practicing on Three Sisters Island.
She rent the church basement as office. Rick O'shea is the new Pastor and arrived on the Island on parachute.
Maddie is very surprised that Rick has become a pastor she knows him since their childhood, Rick used to tease her a lot when she grew up and their relationship was not an easy one...
Maddie lives with her sisters Cam, her adoptive son Cooper, Blaine and her father Paul.
The book is about their familly lives, the struggle each one of them face but especially Maddie her new job and her relationship with Rick.

All of them have their own fears and will have to overcome them, relying on God.
It was an interesting story with some funny parts.

i am really enjoying this series and, in fact, think that this one is better than the first one.
The Grayson family moved from Boston to an island off the coast of Maine when dad, Paul, purchased a camp on the island that included a huge amount of the island, renamed Three Sisters Island, the English version of the original name. He and his deceased wife met there, fell in love, and married. She always wanted to return but it never happened. Paul, in his own way, following her wishes, returns to give back to the island. While it is about getting the camp and the manor back on their feet as well as improving the rest of the island and life of the residents, it is so much more. All of the family has issues to deal with in order to pursue happiness going forth. While there are different focuses going on in this story, fear is the underlying factor that some of the characters need to overcome. This is an engaging story that pulled me in from the beginning to the end, filled with likable, realistic characters, cool setting, romance, emotional issues, and faith to overcome fears.
I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

On a Coastal Breeze, the second book in Suzanne Woods Fisher's Three Sisters Island series, will focus on Madison, the second daughter in the Grayson family. Maddie has moved to Three Sisters Island in an attempt to start-up her counseling business. As she is waiting for her first customers to arrive, Maddie sees a sky-diver floating in for a landing. Unfortunately, the man is Ricky O'Shea, her former high-school nemesis!

Maddie has a long history with Ricky that she is not ready to resume. Throughout this tale, Suzanne drops tidbits concerning Maddie and Ricky's earlier encounters. The information helps the reader understand the rivalry that is part of their relationship!

Ricky is returning to the island to fill the role of the local pastor. This role is much needed for the community; however, Maddie does not need the distraction. This is an interesting tale as you watch Ricky and Maddie try to form a new kind of friendship!

On a Coastal Breeze, book two in Suzanne Woods Fisher's Three Sisters Island series is a destination for your upcoming summer reading list. All the elements for a coastal vacation are within the covers of this wonderful story. A small island off the coast of Maine with just enough charm to have you pull up a chaise lounge and read on a sandy beach.

This series is about the Grayson family, who are in the process of finding new life after the patriarch, Paul sold the family home and bought Three Sisters Island. This book, which can stand alone or alongside the introductory book, On A Summer Tide. The characters are well developed and could easily be one's neighbor or family member. Memories are visited as life unfolds and we learn that what we have experienced in our youth can shape who we are as adults. Madison is no exception as she explores so many of her encounters with Ricky O'Shea. He is such an engaging character and adds a lot of humor into the story. From his grand entrance to his serious side, he is important to the story. Yet he is still Ricky O'Shea, and she isn't sure she can move past that.

Madison, the middle Grayson daughter, has quietly made a big impact on her family. Random comments they share on occasion since moving to the island give her valuable insight on her place in the family dynamics. She never thought of herself as confident as her sisters, often feeling as though she is in the background. It is interesting the way one touches others lives until it is shared in those odd moments, out of context, many years later. As her family begins their second year on the island and a new camp season, the changes bring them that much closer to each other.

I enjoyed this book and the new developments in the Grayson family. A well written story with wonderful characters, it is easy to recommend. Thank you to Revell and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy for review. All opinions are mine.

On a Coastal Breeze is the second installment from Suzanne Woods Fisher series, Three Sisters Island. Since it is part of a series, I would recommend reading the books in order to grasp a better understanding as to what is going on. I adored the first book, On a Summer Tide, and this one does not disappoint. I enjoyed getting to know more about Camden’s sister, Maddie. It was, also, fun meeting Rick and how he came into town. I loved those two in the scenes together and wanted to know what would happen next. The whole book was a delight and I had it read in a few hours.

I am giving On a Coastal Breeze five plus stars. I recommend this book, as well as the Three Sisters Island series for readers who love to read a good, clean read. I can not wait to find out what happens in the series.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

On a Coastal Breeze by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the second book based on Three Sisters Island and the Grayson family. I have not read the first book so I wasn't sure how this was going to go. But, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and did not feel like I had missed any information. Having never been to the state of Maine or on an island in Maine I was fascinated by the detail of the life the Islanders live. I loved the description of the close-knit community and the strength it takes to live in that environment. The story focuses on Maddie Grayson. She is the middle daughter and has returned to the island to open up her office as a counselor/psychologist. It sounds simple enough but throw in a nemesis from her school days and two sisters who can't see what is right in front of their faces and Maddie has a challenging life. Plus her father is trying to be successful owning a vacation camp, but that comes with its own problems too. After reading this book I'm definitely going to go back and read the first book. I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions and the characters and now I want to go and visit an island in Maine. But not in the winter! I voluntarily received a copy of this book from netgalley

Beautiful and thoughtful book

I am a fan of Suzanne Fisher Woods' books. I just finished "on a Coastal Breeze", which is set on a small island off the coast of Maine, called Three Sisters Island, which is complemented by the three sisters at the heart of the book series. This is the 2nd book in the series, but, like other reviewers, I think it can easily be read as a stand-alone, or the reader can read the 1st book as a follow-up.

Other reviewers have synopsized the plot and further described the characters, so I will just tell you my reactions to this book. It definitely made me think, while enjoying the plot, characters and setting.

I love the way this book makes me think and feel. Each of the sisters is facing a challenge, none really want to discuss their issues with the rest of the family and friends. How many of us react the same way, keeping our troubles to ourselves, not necessarily to our benefit?

Thank you to the publisher who gave me a time-constrained e-arc via Netgalley. I am under no obligations. However, let me assure you that I truly loved this book and this review is my own opinion.

(4 stars) - Plays the line & then reels you in

Book 2 in the Three Sisters Island series continues the story of Paul & his 3 daughters, though it shifts the main focus from Cam to Maddie.

Maddie has just opened her family therapy office when a complication in the person of one Rick O'Shea parachutes in. He's the island's new pastor - and her old nemesis. Or more accurately, she's had a sort of love-hate relationship with him for most of her life.

With an intro like that, you can't help wondering what kind of pastor he will be. Turns out he's a pretty decent one.

The story explores themes of overcoming fear and finding direction. Similar to the 1st book, it's written in an episodic style that initially comes across as meandering, but keeps gradually pulling you in until you find that you can't wait to find out what's next.

It covers some pretty serious issues but manages to maintain a fairly lighthearted tone without trivializing any of them. Maddie's tug of war between halo Maddie & horns Maddie was pretty amusing.

There were a few things that bugged me:
*** SPOILER ALERT ***

A person would say both 'I've always loved you' and 'I've always loathed you' with some greater degree of emotion than their normal, level voice - but with very *distinctively different* emotions. I'm hard pressed to believe that Rick wouldn't have questioned what would have had to be a disparity in tone & expression vs what he thought was said

Blaine seriously had no business taking it on herself to tell Cooper that Seth was his dad - she's fortunate that it turned out well but it could also have made a bigger mess of things & wasn't her decision. That upset me because it was so wrong

*** END SPOILERS ***

Overall, the story was very entertaining, and I love the little island family that's developing. Rick's proposal is breathtaking, lol. The story's wrap up has me eagerly looking forward to Book 3.

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic
*Religion: overtly Christian, but organic to the story not preachy

Suzanne Woods Fisher is best known for her Amish books so when I seen this series I knew I had to read it.
This book was such a delightful read and so is the author who wrote it. I love anything she writes!
I like how she makes her characters' feelings seem realistic and I can feel them coming out at me throughout the story.
Fear has a stronghold on these women's lives and it's what's holding each member of Maddy's family back.
I like how Woods gives us a look inside each family member and what really holds them back from being what they truly can be.
People can change but only if they want to. Rick is just such one character. I enjoyed him immensely. A Marine turned Pastor wow! You're in for a wonderful treat!
Suzanne weaves some wonderful messages throughout this book without being preachy about it. I like that.
I like this saying" Once you know a truth you can't unknow it." How true this is. Sometimes when you know a truth it changes in how you look at yourself as a person or it can change in how you look at the other person if that makes sense?
Maddy is my favorite person in the family. I think I like her because she's just like everyone else. She has fears, doubts and many other feelings. I love how she takes time out to analyze her feelings for life in general. Sometimes it takes time for her to process certain events in her life.
I'm the same way. It takes time for me to process things in my life. Especially the bad things. In other words it takes time for me to forgive. When I do it sets me free. Forgiving is hard I know but it's the best especially if we want to be Christ like minded. The truth will also set you free.
She's certainly got a tough job in the family that's for sure! One I sure wouldn't want but apparently I am.
Poor little Coop. Such a sweet little feller. All of us have anxieties in life but I think it's the kids who are hit the hardest. He's had so much change in his life. It's hard for him to process. I'm still rooting for you little guy! You've stolen my heart!
I was happy to see Peg back! I think she's got an even tougher job. I've been there and done that. I admire her spunk, courage and a good attitude towards people. She reminds me of Taco Charlie.
A very moving, well written book. One I enjoyed immensely! I didn't want to say goodbye to Maddy or her family!
I highly recommend this book and you'll be thinking about the characters long after the story is finished. Especially Paul. What will happen to him?
Will each family member face their fears or will they keep running away from them? You'll just have to read this awesome book to find out!
My thanks to Netgalley and Revell for a complimentary copy. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

Suzanne Woods Fisher has taken a leave from writing Amish fiction to write a series of contemporary romances, and On a Coastal Breeze is the second one of the series. Each of the books focuses on one of Paul Grayson's daughters, but the family life is chronicled in each of the books. The first one, On a Summer Tide, is reviewed here.

On a Coastal Breeze is Maddie's story and her reintroduction to Rick O'Shea, but still includes Cam and Seth's continuing story, and also plants seeds for Blaine's story.

Suzanne has always written with well-thought out plots, engaging characters, and intriguing settings. This book is no different. This book takes place on an island off the coast of Maine. Maddie has opened her psychology clinic and is working to gain reputation, clients, and to solidify her standing in the community. The most important clients she has are ones who don't pay her--her sisters. One sister keeps putting off getting married until she can figure out a way to bring reliable electricity to the island, and the other sister is trying to "find herself" in the culinary world after a bad experience in school.

This was one hard book to put down. I read until way late last night and finished it off this morning. It was fantastic. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a get-away at the island camp.

Revell Publishing and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Oh la la, this book!

I expected to need a brush up on the first book in the Three Sisters Island series, On A Summer Tide, but I was wrong. It was like stepping right back into a loved little town, eh, island, that is, with old friends and new I fell in love with the people in this novel all over again.

The redemption in On A Coastal Breeze was so well done! I am in love with how Suzanne Woods Fisher wrote the sequel in her series. The sisters’ point of view was done in a way that the story never became too chaotic and did not switch from character to character too often.

Since I read the first book I have been looking forward to finding out more about the girls’ growing up years and their take on their family as they had gone from young children to women dealing with grief.

Rick, wow, I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow! I love the whole former Marine now pastor thing, I loved it, surprisingly due to the fact he was a Marine! ;) And the glimpses we got of him as Pastor Pick were so good! The author did a wonderful job of showing a sermon without it being boring, and the lessons, wow. *heart eyes* I just love him. I did not see the surprise we got from him though. Oof! Not expected at all.

Cooper, poor little Coop! He just breaks my heart with his anxiety, I felt so bad for him and his young fearful mind. The poor boy had been through so much, but the ending of this book tied up the little family's story in a sweet way.

The faith in God showed through in a wonderful way that was real and I could feel a connection with, and it was done without a bit of over the top preaching. The spiritual content was spectacular!

I enjoyed all of the points of view, and I almost forgot, I need to know what happens with Paul! His little shock at the end, why do that to me?

I cannot wait for the next book after that snippet cliffhanger of the next book. It will not come out soon enough for me. After all, I caught a hint of an idea that I hope turns out...

Just a note that due to certain content this book is for 16/18 up.
