I love being back on Three Sister Island, and picking up where we left off in the first book! The author starts this read off with a bang, well sort of, can you imagine the person who tormented you during your youth parachuting onto the Island? Better yet, he is the new minister! This is basically what happens to Maddie, and now she will work in the same building, an office at the church, and see him all the time. Has Rick O'Shea changed? Rather a chuckling picture, especially when we learn what he did to torment her from kindergarten on.
Now, remember Seth and Cam? We are waiting for a wedding, rather impatiently, and Blaine is dealing with her palate, and something worse, and we hope she will have it resolved! Dad, is still working to improve his dream, and dealing with an infatuated duck, as well as Peg, and keeping the Grayson family together!
I can't wait for the next book in this series, books to definitely get lost in!

The Three Sisters Island series continues. In book two, Maddie is finding her footing and setting up her counseling practice. She loves God and her family and wants balance to her days. But, Ricky O'Shea, a boy she had a love/hate relationship with, for years, drops back into her life. Maddie's not perfect, she's made mistakes and those memories, just might take her over the edge. But has Ricky changed? I enjoyed visiting Three Sisters Island again, Suzanne Woods Fisher catches us up on what's going on with the rest of the family and how Camp Kicking Moose has improved. This is a great series, set on an island off the coast of Maine. Maddie's story is one of doubts and pain, forgiveness and fresh starts. There is a lot going on, on Three Sisters Island. I am glad I was there for the adventure(s). I do adore clean sweet family, friends, and romance stories. This is the second book in the “Three Sisters Island” series. It can be read as a stand-alone but if you have not read book 1 in the series, I am sure you will want to read that story when you finish this story. That said, this is a not to be missed book in my humble unbiased opinion. It really does have everything… and you do not want to miss … the duck ! Happy Reading ! !

his story is focused on Madison Grayson who is a therapist. She has just set up her office and is ready for business. All is well until it is not. Rick O’Shea literally drops in on three Sisters Island to be their pastor. Great for the Island bad for Maddie she remembers the guy she went to school with. He wasn’t the pastor type. Sparks fly and not in a good way. What was she going to do? It wasn’t like she could attend another church. Each person deals with their own situations, learning what it means to be family, boundaries and all.

The characters are honest and grow in their faith, and their maturity, as each discover who they are individually and are as a family. I liked the natural faith message woven throughout the story. I loved the honesty, and realism, of what these sisters go through. The author sprinkles encouraging nuggets in the mix of things like this one, “Once you know a truth, you can’t unknow it.”

I liked how the author had readers experience the highs, lows and the unexpected with this fun-loving family and its quirky residents that create a well-rounded cast. This is a sweet, heart-felt, enjoyable story filled with tender, fun and suspenseful moments I couldn’t put down. I look forward to reading more about this family and finding out where Blaine ends up.

This is a delightful, fun get away. I felt like I was one of the residents on the island. I want to go to Three sisters island in real life. This is a story filled with family fun, drama and adventure as readers experience the second season on Three Sisters Island.

This book would work well for your next book club pick as there are discussion questions and a great recipe you can serve at your meeting. It’s called, “You’ll Never Buy Store Bought Granola again” that includes a few variations on the theme. It’s a win win for everyone.

I enjoyed book 2 of this series very much. This is an author whose Amish fiction books were among my very favorite and although I am very used to reading those, it has been a refreshing change to read this series. The characters are enjoyable and all very interesting in their particular spheres in this series, Cam, Blaine and Maddie are sisters on the island, all with different and unique interests. It's been an enjoyable series and decisions about marriage, careers, health and other topics are a part of this book. And there are secrets which make the characters who they are, how they feel about themselves and others.

I enjoyed how Maddie's story went back to her youth and explained her feelings, her memories and her thoughts. This was Maddie's story and I think, am hoping, anyway, that the next book will be Blaine's story.

I also enjoyed the discussion questions at the end. Found them thought provoking in many ways. All in all, a really good book!

The second book in the "Three Sisters Island" series, this installment focuses on second daughter Madison Grayson. When we first met Maddie in book one, she was recently licensed as an MFT and eager to begin her practice. In this book, her practice is finally open - and although she's previously struggled with panic attacks and anxiety, she feels that it is under control and is eager to move her life forward.

When new pastor Rick O'Shea arrives on the island Maddie is reminded of their past, in all it's glory and horror. Revealed slowly through a series of "flashbacks" in Maddie's past, their relationship is not exactly as it seems. The Pastor Rick of today is very different than the Ricky O'Shea from before...and is there a chance she might have been wrong about....anything?

I really enjoyed this book overall, but there were several things that gave me pause and did not totally ring true. I can't list them (spoilers) but let's just say that the depth of Maddie and Ricky's past did not make sense to me/match up with how Madison communicated and responded, even when her past and possible motivations for certain behaviors were eventually revealed. It felt off and slightly unbelievable for me. However! It is not stopping me from recommending this book. If you have not already done so, make sure to read the first book in the series ("On a Summer Tide"); because as we all know, context is key!

There are several quirky characters in this series and they seem so real with their flaws and well meaning hearts. Three sisters Cam, Maddie and Blaine couldn't be more different. While the main focus of On a Coastal Breeze is Maddie, it was great to catch up with Cam and Blaine as well.

Oldest sister Cam is type A without a doubt. She describes herself: "I'm either on or off. I don't come with a dimmer switch. I go all in or all out."

Maddie was bullied beginning in Kindergarten by Ricky O'Shea. This continues for years, but she secretly likes him while continuing to loathe him. As an adult, Maddie is feeling confident and established as she begins her career as a counselor on Three Sisters Island in Maine. Then the new pastor turns out to be Richard O'Shea. I loved this line: "As a boy, Rick O'Shea had stolen her heart. As a man, he was back to claim it."

Blaine has difficulty finishing what she starts. Can't wait to get her story in book three. And will the widowed father of the girls, Paul, find romance as well? The duck that follows Paul around stole my heart.

It was simply delightful to spend time on this small island in Maine. Whether it's Amish or contemporary, Suzanne Woods Fisher is an author I don't want to miss.

The first title in Suzanne Woods Fisher's Three Sisters Island series was one of my favorite reads of last year, and I couldn't wait to read the second book to see where she chose to take her characters next. I really appreciate the way she's written the books in this series in that they focus around a main character, but each of the other family members still have their stories continued as well. In this story, middle sister Maddie takes center stage, but plenty of focus is still given to Cam, Seth and Connor from the first book, and Blaine who will most likely be the main character of the next book.

At first impression, I wasn't sure I was going to end up liking Maddie's love interest in this one, as at first glance, he came across a little arrogant and the like, but Pastor Rick did quickly win me over. I loved the way the message in this one focuses around the different ways fear can affect you, and how it can have a crippling affect if you choose to let it rule your life. Maddie and Rick have vastly different ways of approaching life, but both are struggling with the insecurities that come along with fear, and strive to try and overcome this using faith. It was a really beautiful illustration of 2 Timothy 1:7, and was definitely one of my favorite parts of the story.

I could really sympathize with a lot of how Maddie was feeling throughout the story, and I found myself really drawn into the story. As the story develops we see secrets revealed, and I loved how this brings with it great character growth and an even stronger faith element. I enjoyed the maturity shown by both Maddie and Pastor Rick as their relationship turns from childhood enemies to adult friends, and I only wish there had been a little bit more involved in the development of their romance as it ended up seeming a little too fast for my liking.

Overall, I've truly come to love this series, and all of these characters, and I really appreciate Suzanne Woods Fisher's beautiful storytelling. I really enjoy the way she writes flawed characters that realize they can't get by without His never ending grace, and that we all have to learn to let go and let God, even when we feel we have everything under control on our own.

I definitely recommend picking this one up, and although you could read it as a stand alone, you will definitely have a better understanding of the story if you go ahead and read the first book before this one.

On a Coastal Breeze is somewhat of an emotion read, it has passion and drama, but it is written in a way that grasps you at all the right times. Suzanne Woods Fisher did a great job leading this book all the way to the end.

A welcome return to Three Sisters Island....but with an unexpectedly dramatic opening! I thought I was in for a nice, cosy catch-up with the Grayson family, but there was far more to this book than that. So many true-to-life issues arose, & so many ‘pearls of wisdom’ imparted - this is definitely a book to return to, for reminders of lessons learned but also for proddings for the future. As to the latter part of the story, I couldn’t possibly ruin it for you but : do read it! You will be so glad that you did, & I predict it will remain with you for a very long time. A real gem of a book!

the story is realistic, haunting, easy to rea, entertaining.
I'm barely put down the book, eager to know and read about the life on the Island, sure I'll miss the characters.

Madison has her license even a scheduled appointment, a couple before getting married for a session. She feels at home here on Three Sister Island even though there aren’t the eligible men. Excitement outside drew her out to see what it was about. Literally a parachute coming down to a perfect landing. To find he was the new pastor. His name sends a shock to her it can’t be but it is a man from her past. From grade school he had been her nemesis. The sisters, different characters as well as the setting, brings us once again to the Island and what is happening, and how lives can be changed. Loved this book & also the first one in this series! Suzanne Woods Fisher is one of my favorite authors & she did not disappoint in this book (series). Three sisters, Cam, Maddy, & Blaine, along with their dad continue trying to transform Three Sisters Island which they bought in the first book of the series. Cam & Seth are supposed to be getting married but Cam keeps putting it off for reasons unknown. Ricky O'Shea comes in to the story in this book. He was a schoolmate of Maddy's & they certainly have a long & tumultuous history. A lot of the story centers around he & Maddy trying to work things out in their relationship. His occupation and his health play a vital role in their relationship. Blaine seems very unsettled in this book but finally confesses to Maddy part of the reason she is having such a difficult season. Paul is the dad of the three girls & he is the one who wanted to buy the island after being widowed & wanting to make a change in not only his life but the lives of his daughters.

I certainly hope this story continues into another book because I want to know more about Blaine's plans & continue to read more about this family.

This is the second book in the Three Sisters Island series. All I can say is Awesome! I loved it. I was hooked with the first book and eagerly awaited this one. I was not disappointed. As with the first book, the book includes the family of three adult sisters and their father as they continue life on Three Sisters Island. This book focuses on Maddie, who has recently opened a counseling practice, and on a Rick, the new pastor on the island. We get to reconnect with Cam, Seth, and Cooper, Blaine, and the women’s father, Paul. This book also focuses on how fear often dictates what happens in a person’s life and how letting go of that fear can be freeing and open one up to life’s possibilities. Of course, as all of the residents of the island can attest to, that is easier said than done! I enjoyed watching each character’s journey towards new experiences, new relationships, and strengthened faith. I eagerly await the third book in the series, and highly recommend this book and this series.

Cam and Seth are a couple, but waiting to plan their wedding and tell Cooper the truth about his parentage while Cam buries herself in the writing of grants to fund a power source for the island. Paul, the father of the three girls is unsure he has made the right decision in becoming a camp owner. Blaine has returned home from her first semesters of culinary school, but she is carrying a dark secret. And Maddie has started her own family counselling practice. But just as she gets her first clients, the island is graced with their new pastor and he is no less than the boy who tormented her right the way through kindergarten until she last saw him after senior prom. She is surprised to see him and the way the townspeople rally around him. Maybe he’s changed, but Maddie is sure they share too much history to kindle a friendship or explore what she might have felt for him before he broke her heart.

I loved that this book, this series, while featuring each of the Grayson sisters, really continues the whole family’s story. Maddie is the feature sister of this novel, as is her relationship with Rick, the new pastor. But it’s clear, that despite the way we left Cam and Seth in book one, that they don’t get an automatic happily ever after.

The three sisters are still as blind to their own faults while happy to point out the ares the others need to change. Maddie is my favourite of the three girls, and I enjoyed her story.

There is plenty of humour in this book, from Paul’s little duck that follows him around the camp to the endless irony in the sisters’ relationships and their constant ability to solve each others’ problems while ignoring their own. The other islanders also provide much comic relief, from the straight talking Cafe Owner, Peg Legg to the raucous fishermen.

A few sensitive themes are touched upon in the book, including Blaine’s secret as she returns from culinary school. This sets the scene for what promises to be a heartfelt third book.

I would have liked to see more scenes between Rick and Maddie. We only get their romance right at the end of the book. Fortunately, plenty of flashbacks to their youth give the readers background to their connect and reinforce their chemistry. We will, no doubt, see more of their growing relationship alongside Blaine’s story in the next book.

I love Three Sisters Island, the three sisters, the quirky characters and the feel of this book. I read the first in this series and loved it, but I think I love this one even more. There are so many stories within this story, and all of them satisfying and just pulled me in.
This story is about Maddie and the new Pastor, which she grew up with and has a lot of history which isn’t revealed right away. And their past relationship ended in a big misunderstanding. She is a therapist who gives others some great advice but is in need of some healing herself.
There are some surprises and some secrets along the way which made the story richer. This was a lesson in facing our fears, finding our way and realizing how blessed we are.
Suzanne Woods Fisher has crafted a superb story that I will not soon forget and highly recommend.
