Novelist Brandy Jackson and billionaire Max Benton find themselves both laying claim to the same castle. The judge decides they should both live there while he is looking into the claims. The night before they meet in court they meet at the bar at their hotel and eventually find themselves in bed together. From this Brandy turns out to be pregnant. Max is ready to take the responsibility for the baby but doesn't trust Brandy. They are each dealing with their past so can they find the love that is out there for them?

I received a free copy of THE TYCOON’S PREGNANT LOVER (Book 1 of the European Tycoons) by Leslie North in exchange for an honest review. Novelist Brandy Jackson’s life is in flux; she has moved to Europe to claim her inheritance, Landon Castle. On her first night in the area, she allows herself to be seduced into a one-night stand. Brandy’s not surprised to wake up to find her lover gone from the hotel room, but she’s incredibly surprised to find out he’s contesting her claim to her inheritance. Max Benton is a self-made billionaire security software designer who is on a quest for revenge against a man who stole his intellectual property and broke his sister’s heart. To this end, he purchased the castle sold as part of the man’s bankruptcy assets. When the matter goes to court, the judge orders the pair to spend ninety days together in the castle while he researches the validity of the deeds. At first, Max refuses to be kind to the charming American author, but he thaws over time. Soon, they’re enthusiastically engaging in a love affair. However, Max’s scars from past betrayals raise roadblocks to their relationship at about the same time Brandy discovers they will soon share a child in addition to a castle.
This was a pretty good story. I liked the fact that Max’s misbehavior isn’t derived from misogyny aimed at all women; instead, it was a defense mechanism aimed at preventing him from creating any new relationships.

If you are looking for happily ever after light romance this is it. Despite his distrust and cynicism Max can’t resist Brandy. He will have to let go of the past to have a future with Brandy. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Even though I know that all of Leslie North's books end in a happy ending. I started to doubt this time. Max seems determined to ruin everything, while thinking that he's justified in doing it. It's a good thing that Brandy is so forgiving.
