Sadly, I ended up not finishing this one. I’m not sure if it’s the author’s style or the general plot/mix of characters that don’t work for me. I read the Bromance Book Club a few years ago and it ended up being just okay.

Such a lovely romance story. I adored the characters and can’t wait to read the rest of the series. Definitely a top story of the year.

I enjoyed this second book in the bromace book club series however I did not enjoy this as much as the first book. which I think had big boots to fill. It wasn't bad by any means but just didn't live up to the hype I had continuing from the first book

Not bad, and not great. I think I lost a lot from the story because I haven't read the first in the series, which probably didn't help. I didn't particularly warm to the characters, I found the male characters a little bit stubborn, especially with the #metoo plot and Liv's response to it. Plus toilet humour...

A fantastic funny story!! I loved Mack and Liv, their chemistry and their banter. Well written with some hilarious moments. I found myself chuckling away to parts of it.

Wow,.just wow, filled with action and sizzling sexual chemistry this is one hell of a book.

If I thought the first book in this series was great then this has topped it by a mile. It has a different feel to it, more depth but still features a group of romance reading men.

It also features Liv, who is one kick ass heroine, who is determined to bring her ex boss down once her eyes are opened to the sort of despicable man he is.

And Mack who we met in the first book, shows just what hidden depths he has, once you get past the surface.

This can easily with out a doubt be read as a standalone, with new lead characters but we still see plenty of Gavin and Thea.

I love how the men learn lessons from romance novels to apply to their own lives and that this story doesn't feature much of any other book in it.

This was one fast paced book, that had me on the edge of my seat at all times. And this book featured one of the hottest sex scenes I've enjoyed for a while, but that may just be me!

I loved every last word of this story and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book series has my heart! Since I loved the first book, I had the feeling I would also really enjoy the sequel. I was very much looking forward to knowing more and Braden and Liv, and seeing how their relationship developed. And I’m glad this didn’t disappoint. This book had the perfect level of funny and cute and sweet and frustrating moments.

Where to begin with this one? I have to say, I was impressed at how much story was packed into a book which felt like it flew by when I was reading. It doesn’t feel long and honestly, as I was reading I kept thinking to myself ‘just one more chapter’. It was definitely an easy read.

This one focuses on Mack and Liv and I had some reservations about that. I liked Mack in the first book. he was charming, a smooth talker, and he seemed fun. He was always going to be easy to like (even if he occasionally felt a little too slick and a little superficial) but Liv? I kind of hated her. I mean, she was kind of the worst in the first book. So unsupportive of Thea and Gavin and so very against Thea even speaking to Gavin. Even if they hadn’t gotten back together in that book the couple would have always had to interact as they had two children to think about and Liv seemed to be against any interaction. It was rather upsetting considering Liv and Thea grew up with parents who weren’t together, they knew the strain that puts on kids. But anyway, I digress, the point was I didn’t like Liv and was not all that happy to see her here. Thankfully, once you get to see things from Liv’s perspective, it’s far easier to like her. I mean, she still needed calling out on her shit (often) but it helped to hear her own thoughts to explain some of her negative nelly attitude, you know?

Liv was always the difficult one to like and it was still true when she got her own book. I didn’t always understand her. She refused help from anyone but expected others to accept her help. And when I say help I mean her forced assistance and shoving her nose into other people’s business. That’s not a bad thing, she was calling out sexual harassment in the workplace, but she went in full bull in a china shop with everything she did. She didn’t think at all and she frequently opened her mouth without ever engaging her brain. She was called out on a lot of her comments. From the casually sexist comment, we all make like 'man up' and 'don’t be a girl' to the comments which were basically victim-blaming when it came to speaking to someone who was a victim of sexual assault. I mean, she just didn’t think things through at all. It was all kinds of frustrating and although I loved her romance with Mack and the growth she had through this book, she was still not going to be my absolute favourite character ever.

Thankfully, Liv was balanced out with a man who was all about the charm. A smooth-talking nightclub owner who was a fan of romance books. What’s not to like about Mack? I was excited to meet him because he really was easy to like and didn’t he just know it. But, as some of the women he dated said, it did often feel like he was putting on an act and when we got to know him more and past! Hot damn, did I understand why he was always putting on a show, he had a lot of things he was carrying around with him. Scars from his past and his family that meant he didn’t want to allow anyone too close. But still, I liked him best when he wasn’t trying to follow the romantic guidance of a romance novel or trying to find the perfect line for Liv. But when he acted on impulse and allowed his emotions to take over.

Liv and Mack together? They were great. Mack was all pretence and outward appearances whilst Liv was kind of what you see is what you get. She was blunt and straight to the point (most of the time). I liked to see these opposites get together.

And the best part? The feminism throughout every page. I mean, I knew it was a winner when the book opened with our little book club making their first trip to an actual book shop rather than ordering their romance online because they wanted to tackle the whole concept of toxic masculinity and any shame they might feel in walking into a bookshop to purchase romance for themselves. It was even better when they were despairing at the woeful romance selection with a single small section dedicated to romance. These men need to come to the UK where you will fail to find any romance section in pretty much any bookshop. I can't talk for independent ones of course, but big book chains like Waterstones and Foyles? Yep, you aren't finding a romance shelf. Might as well go home now. But I digress, basically, I loved the fun lighthearted opening of these men complaining that there isn't more romance. I loved that these small moments of the guys talking openly about how toxic masculinity and patriarchal concepts are the very same things holding women back. When Hop lamented the fact he could no longer make jokes about women as if it was political correctness gone made yet said he hoped to have a female president in his lifetime was great because when the guys came back at him and said that those jokes might be the very reason there hasn't been a female president. I was practically cheering because Adams so easily put into words concepts I struggle to explain to others. And she does it so well throughout the book.

The story was good as well. I kind of don't want to spoil too much because I actually went into this one totally blind and probably enjoyed it more for it, but the story was good. I was never bored by any of the plot development. I didn't find anything too farfetched or skim through a part of the story. I was just swept along the whole way laughing and just plain old enjoyed myself. This was just so damn enjoyable. I cannot stress it enough how much fun this was to read. I mean, I'm smiling writing the review. How can I be smiling writing a review of a book?

I'm sure I've not done this book justice here, I always hate putting into words the ways in which a book has gone right but honestly, give this book a go and you'll see what I mean.

I really enjoyed the story line of this book and preferred it to the first in the series. However, there was some repetition when the characters were described - Mack growled a LOT.

Well, this was a wonderful sequel to 'The Bromance Book Club'!

The personalities of these character, how they build each other up and value friendship really shines through. And in this book it isn't just one couple that the book club are trying to help - this time they are bringing down a wealthy, famous, powerful....sexual predator. It is a brilliant use of a popular book to explore the difficulties both men and women have in dealing with such awful situation and the minefield it can be for survivors to come forward. I think it is fantastic that in this book it is shown that men need to help but it does not blame men - instead we see the bromance book club, all wealthy, famous and powerful men themselves, take this situation to heart and desperately want to help. It is a wonderful representation of the many, many men who would not abuse their position.

And then, of course, there is the storyline only briefly hinted at in the first book -Liv and Mack. I was rooting for Mack so much!

As funny and well written these books are, it is the characters that really get me. All the men in these books are just brilliant together and their friendships, their book club, has me reading a romance novel specifically to be amused by their friendships. Major shout out to The Russian, who is one of my new favourite supporting characters ever!

I will start by saying that it is rare that a second book is better than the first, but this sequel is an exception. I almost didn’t read Undercover Bromance in fear that I wouldn’t like it! However, this sequel to The Bromance Bookclub is funny, flirty and at parts heartbreaking or even tense, but most of all, it has got the edge. It discussed difficult topics too.
I found myself rooting for the main characters to the point where I laughed out loud with them, felt their pain and emotions.
I think you’ve guessed by now that I think it was a wonderfully written sequel. I will think twice in the future about not reading any other sequels, because I know I would have really regretted not reading this one. Lesson learnt!
Cannot wait for the third book!

I am so excited for this series to continue - Lyssa Kay Adams is a brilliantly funny and heartwarming writer and I can see the Bromance Book Club going far.

I was really looking forward to Liv's story after seeing her character in The Bromance Book Club, and obviously was dead keen for Mack's. I love that Mack is a twist on the player type - he's usually always got a woman on his arm, but he's sincere and caring with it.

One of my favourite romance tropes is a sweet, besotted hero working at opening up the prickly, independent heroine, and that's exactly what you get with Undercover Bromance. We see how Liv's upbringing has left scars on her, though different to the ones we saw on Thea, and how Mack helps her realise there's more to life than hanging on to past hurts. Having said that, I would have liked to see a more likable Liv - she was prickly to the extreme, and I struggled to see what enthralled Mack in her character. She's bolshy to the point of rudeness, even to her dearest friend who has been through a trauma she doesn't even attempt to understand - and again with Mack in a brutal reaction to his honesty. It's brilliant to see characters who aren't perfect and learn as the story progresses, but Liv started from such a low point for me that there really was only room for improvement.

I've seen that the Russian will be getting his own story in the series and I can't wait for it. Lyssa Kay Adams has a winning formula for me with this series, and I'm sad I didn't like Liv as much as I wanted to.

I’m such a fan of this series, there’s something so wholesome and “full circle” about these books, they’re the perfect quick read. The characters are well written and although you can kind of guess the outcome, the plot is well thought out and executed. Lyssa Kay Adams has found the perfect formula!

I had mixed feelings on this one, especially after enjoying the first in the series so much. It was, at times, just as much fun as the first, with some real comedy, and the blossoming friendship between the guys in the Bromance Book Club is a true joy. However, in the age of #MeToo, the sexual assault storyline felt like it missed the mark - with the main characters using it as a foil for their own growth and for their relationship, which felt reductive and, at time, potentially harmful. I could totally see where it was going, and a generous reading still had me enjoying this book, but I'd hesitate to recommend it for some of the content.

Another brilliant read in this series.
I didn't enjoy it quite as much as The Bromance Bookclub, purely because I felt it was lacking in scenes from the actual book club, I love the guy's banter and yet touching support and love for one another.
However, it was brilliantly paced and managed to turn a characters who were dislikable in the first book into characters I really cared about.
I loved the feminist undercurrent and the fight for justice the main and side characters went through together as well as the introduction of several more wonderful friends to the series.
Another brilliant read by Lyssa Kay Adams!!

Amazing! I totally loved this book. It was funny and fast paced. I loved seeing all the characters again and the introduction of Rosie and Hop, and not forgetting Randy!!
Whilst this book deals with some very serious and topical themes it still manages to keep a funny and light hearted feel to it. Beautifully and sensitively written. I was drawn to Mack in book one and was excited for his story as I knew it was going to huge and amazing, I wasn’t too keen on Liv but after just a few chapters in I was on team Livvie who stood up for herself, her beliefs and others. Watching Mack and Liv discover their feelings for each other and working through their own deep dark pasts was heart warming and moving at times.
I’m looking forward to the next book and hoping it’s about Noah!

The second story in this series revolves around characters originally featured in the first book: Braden Mack and Liv. When Liv witnesses sexual harassment in the workplace and gets fired she has to turn to Braden Mack for help. I won’t give the plot away any further but fans of the first book will be pleased to see the book club feature!

I did enjoy this, but my main criticism is that the romance seemed secondary to the other, more serious storyline. Because it wasn’t the main focus I wasn’t especially invested in the romance and I wasn’t fussed whether they ended up together. Liv wasn’t very likeable either, but if there had been more development of the relationship I think she would have grown on me more.

That being said, I did enjoy it. I liked the writing style and it was an easy read in spite of the heavier storyline at times. I’m looking forward to Alexis’ story next too!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Headline Eternal for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the Bromance Book Club last year I was super excited to receive this follow up and it did not disappoint. An original concept that is both heartwarming and fun to read. Looking forward to the next in the series.
