I enjoyed this story so much. I had read the first book some time ago but as soon as I started reading the characters came flooding back to me. This is mainly Grace’s story and her quest to find out more about her mother and possibly who her father was. However, it is so much more, it tackles the feeling of loneliness and memory loss and how that makes a person feel. Also that it is never too late to love. Grace has a gift and she is wondering how she can use it to help others. The writing just flows along and it makes an easy and delightful story to read. It could be read as a standalone but the reader will appreciate the characters more, if the first book is read. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A beautifully written story about family, love, and friendship. Grace’s story is heartwarming. The whole village sounds wonderful and it was lovely to escape to it for a few hours.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I absolutely loved this book and it was a bonus to discover that I had read its predecessor 59 Memory Lane. I hadn't twigged that it was by the same author. However, you do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one. I love the character of Grace as she discovers that she is adopted and she sets out to discover more about her birth mother. This takes Grace to the Cornish village of Pengelly with its myriad of interesting and quirky inhabitants. There is also a mystery to be solved here too and it all makes for a very enjoyable story. I loved reading this book and I really was sad to reach the end. Could heartily recommend it. Thank you Netgalley for giving me the chance to read and review this lovely book.

I was looking forward to reading this book having enjoyed 59 Memory Lane so much. But it disappointed. The idea behind the story was interesting but it seemed too long drawn out and repetitive. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review an e-ARC of this title.

Fifty-four-year-old Grace Clarke arrives in Pengelly looking for memories and stories of her mother. She has only just found out she was adopted and now, with her adopted parents dead, she leaves her lonely life behind and decides to make a new life in Cornwall. Will she find happiness?

A very unusual tale of some very unusual characters. The story flowed well and an unbelievable power seemed believable as the story unfolded. I read this book without having read its predecessor but will now go back to read the other one.

I enjoyed reading 59 Memory Lane, so I was excited to read this. A fantastic heart warming read, which once I started reading I couldn't stop. I am eagely awaiting the next book.

I enjoyed this story very much. The story of Grace and her attempts to find her birth mother and father was a lovely read, although the story was much more than that. It covered loneliness, forgetfulness and friendship and has left a warm feeling after reading. Although not essential, I found it useful to have read the first book to gain an understanding of some of the characters.

We’re back in Memory Lane in Pengalley. This is the sequel to 59 Memory Lane which think is good to read first. Emily has inherited May’s cottage and turned in into a B&B mainly for people who are finding life challenging and needing a break.
Grace has just discovered that she was adopted and books the B&B as a place to stay while looking for her birth mother.
We meet up with all the characters from the first book and lots of unanswered questions are explained.
This is a lovely story and the fact that it has older men and women as the main characters makes it that bit different.
A feel good book with a bit of the unusual thrown in.

Grace discovers at the age of 54 that she was adopted. She finds that her natural mother was May Roseveare but there's no mention of a father. She's also since young been able to sense peoples memories. She decides to go to Pengelly where her mother's from to try and find out about her mother and father

Having read and adored 59 Memory Lane I could not wait for this return to Pengally. I do think if you haven’t read 59 Memory Lane you should read it first (a) because its wonderful and b) it will give some clarity to this story.
Celia Anderson is brilliant; her writing is gorgeous and the way she tells these stories, brings her characters to life is wonderful.
With ‘The Cottage of Curiosities’ we have a lovely tale of self discovery, love, hope and acceptance. Friendships and relationships play such important roles within this story.
We meet Grace who is searching for information on her biological parents, and finds herself heading to the coastal village of Pengelly. Here she effortlessly fits into the community, making friends as she uncovers the truth about where she came from. All of that on top of managing and utilising an extremely special, maybe magical, skill to help those she gets close to.
An absolutely heart-warming and uplifting book, a real curl up, get cosy kind of read. I cannot recommend this enough.

Celia Anderson provides the perfect treat by bringing us back to Pengally, this time with Grace, May's daughter, at the lead. Grace has inherited an ability, but how can she come to know more about it when she's only just learned of her past? A delightful read that'll take you all the way to Pengally and make you not want to leave.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading 59 Memory Lane and was so looking forward to this.

Have to say, I wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s utterly FABULOUS, FANTASTIC ETC.

At the age of 54 Grace is shocked to find out she was adopted and this makes her feel like she’s been living a lie her whole life.

This news, makes her think that it might explain a lot of things, such as the gift, which has worries/plagued her all her life.

She sets out to find out about the woman who she thinks abandoned her - May Rosevere. Thinking the gift may be linked to her, or maybe she had it too, that’s why she’s maybe inherited it.

Travelling to the village of Pengelly, she feels like her mother is calling her home through this gift.

Highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

This is the sequel to 59 Memory Lane and every bit as quirky and enjoyable. Rather than harvesting others' memories from objects as May did in Memory Lane, the central character in this story, Grace, is able to tune into others' memories of things they may have forgotten. This has led her to have quite a solitary, and sometimes painful existence until she takes the opportunity of a break in Pengelly, where she is able to solve some personal and some village mysteries, as well as find a purpose for her unusual gift.

A wonderful tale of love, hope and friendship. The story follows Grace in her search for her birth mother and takes her to the village of Pengelly where she makes friends and explores the reasons for being adopted. Along the way she hones a talent inherited from her mother to help her new friends. A truly heart-warming and uplifting book.

An amazing story. I do think you need to read 59 Memory Lane first. I am glad Grace found happiness and love and peace and knew the truth who her addoptive father was. I did not guess who it was. A very well written book. I loved the idea of the guest house. Also how people knew May had taken things. It is a brilliant book. Also the parts how Tamsin felt as a 7 year old were very well writen

Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.
