Shine Brighter, Every Day: Nourish, Balance and Repair Your Life is a book I was looking for a long time. If you want to improve your life and start living healthier, this book will guide you. It contains a lot of facts, stories but also tips on how to improve your daily routines.

I think I learned more from this book than from years of my own research on a healthy diet. It proves and advice on what food is good or bad for you, what you should add to your diet, improve your daily routine, how to be active, detox your body from toxins, intermittent fasting, the quality of water, rock ancient ayurvedic wisdom and meal planning.

I love the truth this book shares with people. Danah Mor explains how today’s economy sells us the food that is harmful to our bodies, how products are processed, and why products like meat or fish are not healthy anymore. Moreover, the book also focuses on giving us tips on how to make your home environment healthier for you but also how to treat your body to get rid of the uncomfortable feelings like stomachache, bloating, etc. Furthermore, the research shows the consequences of your thoughts and how they drive your mood and life.
I enjoyed learning so much about this subject, which should be talked about more often. It’s important to take good care of our bodies nowadays. This research is very helpful to understand the misstates we do and how to change it. It’s a very well written guide to feeling stronger and more confident.

The book shows examples of the stories connected to each subject, but also many powerful quotes. I saved many of them to motivate myself to change my routine step by step and feel healthier every day. I’m very happy to share this book with you because I feel that more people should read it.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Danah Mor, and Watkins Publishing for providing me with this copy! I love books that bring something magical to my life and change it slightly. This one had this power.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

I chose this book because I love to read self help in general but especially any book that's going to encourage you to take charge of your own health and happiness. And who doesn't need to repair their life in some way? So many of us do not take care of ourselves physically, let alone in a more emotional and spiritual way. The book has a lot of great advice on what to eat to feel your best and whether or not digestive enzymes might help you get your gut on track. It talks about how exercise no matter how small might get your energy back and make you feel better in general. It gives you advice on smoothies and a better way to get your vegetables in. Essentially, the book is about how to listen to your body and listen to your mind in order to take care of yourself to the best of your ability. Yourself and in the end, the planet. There were also quite a few colorful pictures thrown in, which I always love in a nonfiction book.

I really enjoyed parts of this book and the high level information it provided. My favourite bit was the instructions on sprouting. I found it a little conflicting though. It was a good start when the author said you can eat anything you enjoy, but the following chapters then condemned nearly everything. I also found the overbearing staged photographs of the author a bit too much. It felt more in tune with todays over processed over stylised, airbrushed world rather than in tune with someone who was trying to promote holistic living. I liked some of the advice and if you are happy just to pick out the bits you like then it is a really good book.
